International Multihull Show report - The catamaran show

The 2023 edition of the International Multihull Show has been held from 12 to 16 April at Grand Motte on the French Mediterranean.
The event, attended by some 50 catamarans and a few trimarans from many countries, both European and non-European, is the only European show dedicated to multihulls.

Our editor, Maurizio Anzillotti, visited it, producing a report on the show.

We chose to show you all the novelties and some boats that we found particularly interesting.

France: SNCF Class BB 17000 electric loco departs from Paris Nord with a train to Crepy en Valois

SNCF Class BB 17000 electric locomotive (number 17087) departs from Paris Nord on the rear of the 1609 to Crepy en Valois. Recorded 5th September 2012. The train is formed of double deck stock and is operating in push-pull mode with the locomotive at the rear of the train.

The SNCF Class BB 17000 B-B AC electric locomotives built between 1965 and 1968. It performs suburban duties on railway lines around Paris, notably VB2N carriages. They are monophase locomotives (running off 25 kV AC overhead supply) and have the nickname danseuses or dancers.

Paris Nord (or Gare du Nord, North Station) is one of the six large terminus stations of the SNCF mainline network for Paris, France. It offers connections with several urban transportation lines, including Paris Métro, RER and Buses. By the number of travelers, at around 190 million per year, it is the busiest railway station in Europe and the busiest in the world outside Japan.

Gare du Nord is the station for trains to Northern France and to international destinations in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The station complex was designed by the French architect Jacques Hittorff and built between 1861 and 1864. It is situated in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.

Crépy-en-Valois is a commune in the Oise department in northern France. It is located in the Paris Metropolitan Area, 57.8 km (35.9 mi) northeast of the centre of Paris.

It was founded in the tenth century by the count of Valois and served as the capital of the Valois county and duchy. During the Middle Ages, the city raised with the Champagne's market. Then, the Valois and the town of Crépy-en-Valois were annexed by the monarchy and administration was given to a member of the royal family. During the war against English in fourteenth century, the town was destroyed.

In 1828, Crépy-en-Valois annexed the commune of Bouillant. In 1861, a railway station was built and the city knew an economic growth.

On 1 September 1914, the 13th Infantry Brigade of 5th Division, part of the British Expeditionary Force, fought a rearguard action here against the advancing German Army, during the Retreat from Mons. The population of the town increased after World War II because Crépy is located near Paris (40 miles).

Crépy-en-Valois is served by Crépy-en-Valois station on the Transilien Paris – Nord suburban rail line and on regional rail lines. Travel by train will take about forty five minutes from Gare du Nord.

Depuis décembre 2021, cet axe de la ligne J est totalement équipée en rames Z50000 suite aux derniers retraits de compositions de VB2N tractées par des locomotive BB 27300 qui y circulaient jusque là !

Paris - Visite guidée du quartier d'Oberkampf (Cimetière du Père Lachaise, Musée d'Edith Piaf))

Bonjour et bienvenue pour cette nouvelle visite guidée par New York Habitat ( ). Aujourd'hui, nous allons vous faire découvrir Oberkampf, ce quartier aux airs de petit village perdu en pleine capitale. Oberkampf se situe à l'Est de Paris et s'étend du Canal Saint-Martin au fameux village de Belleville.

N'hésitez pas à regarder d'autres vidéos de quartiers de Paris par New York Habitat, comme celle des Grands Boulevards ( et du Parc des Buttes Chaumont ( .

Oberkampf doit son nom à l'industriel Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, connu pour son « imprimé » aussi appelé toiles imprimées. Louis XVI a déclaré son entreprise « manufacture royale » en 1783 et lui a ensuite donné le titre d'écuyer. Une station de métro porte son nom, voila qui est « royal » !

Le Lower East Side de Paris
Si vous avez regardé notre visite vidéo sur le Lower East Side de New York, vous verrez un point commun avec Oberkampf. Avec ses cafés à la mode et ses restaurants, ses pâtisseries arabes et ses marchés colorés... vous n'oublierez pas de sitôt ce village branché.

Cirque d'Hiver & Filles du Calvaire
Le Cirque d'Hiver a été construit en 1852, il était par le passé utilisé de Novembre à Avril, quand le cirque des Champs-Elysées était fermé. On peut à présent admirer des cirques et d'autres spectacles tout au long de l'année. Arrêtez-vous pour jeter un œil à ses couleurs intactes et à l'Amazone de Pradier, située au dessus de l'entrée principale.

Marchez sur l'eau sur le boulevard richard lenoir.
Vous trouverez sur le Boulevard Richard Lenoir 17,700 m² de jardins constitués de saules et de fougères qui sont la preuve que vous êtes en fait sur la partie couverte du Canal Saint-Martin, qui coulait autrefois du nord-est de Paris jusqu'à la Seine.

Musée Edith Piaf
La chanteuse mondialement connue dont tout le monde peut chanter au moins une chanson, de Panam, panam, panam à La vie en rose a son propre musée à Oberkampf. Visiter le musée Edith Piaf est un bon moyen d'avoir un aperçu du vieux Paris, quand les cafés et les cabarets étaient emplis de fumée de cigarette.

Le Cimetière du Père Lachaise
Vous ne regretterez pas de grimper jusqu'en haut de la colline, jusqu'au Cimetière du Père Lachaise, le plus grand cimetière de Paris. Que ce soit pour Jim Morrison ou Oscar Wilde, vous aurez votre moment de nostalgie dans ce cimetière aussi grand que mythique! Les gens continuent de venir au Père Lachaise pour ses centaines de célébrités passées et actuelles.

Restaurants
La bague de Kenza est un lieu où il fait bon s'abandonner à la tentation pour de délicieuses ailes de gazelle et autres loukoums (pâtisseries turques). Comme tout est affaire de mode ici, il y a le lieu pour « voir et être vu ». Prenez un café Chez Justine et allez dîner au fameux Café Charbon.

Si vous avez envie de vous mélanger à la population cool et branchée du quartier, il n'y a pas de manière plus authentique de le faire qu'en louant un appartement meublé dans les environs d'Oberkampf.

Jetez un œil à cet appartement T2 meublé à Menilmontant ( situé au premier étage d'un immeuble qui en compte trois. Cette location meublée se paye le luxe d'avoir une machine à laver à disposition, une salle à manger et une cuisine entièrement équipée. La chambre est équipée d'un lit double et il y a un canapé-lit deux places dans le salon.

Il y a également ce studio T1 meublé à Gambetta - Père Lachaise ( Il dispose également d'une machine à laver et est meublé avec une touche contemporaine. Il est doté d'un canapé avec une méridienne, d'un espace bar pour deux convives et d'un balcon pittoresque où vous pourrez vous asseoir et prendre un café. Cette location meublée se trouve au premier étage d'un immeuble avec ascenseur, à quelques minutes à pied du Cimetière du Père Lachaise.
