Turismo en Trelew: Cultura Galesa + Museo Paleontológico (Dinosaurios!) + Rico Almuerzo en Argentina
En este video visitamos la ciudad de Trelew en la provincia de Chubut. Trelew es un pueblo con orígenes galeses; la traducción de Trelew es 'Pueblo de Luis' (Tre = pueblo y Lew = Luis) y lleva el nombre de uno de los fundadores de la colonia galesa en Patagonia, Lewis Jones. Hoy en día, esta es la ciudad más grande y poblada del valle inferior del Río Chubut, y nosotros la queríamos conocer!
Comenzamos el día visitando el Museo Regional Pueblo de Luis donde aprendímos un poco más sobre los colonos galeses y cómo y por qué llegaron a este lugar.
Luego fuimos a almorzar a Sugar, un restaurante que venía muy recomendado y nos encantó! Esperen a ver los platos que pedimos.
Esa misma tarde visitamos el Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio, que es un centro de exposición e investigación científica, y un museo de historia natural. Pasamos una linda tarde viendo todo tipo de dinosaurios!

¡Hola chicos! Somos Samuel y Audrey, una pareja de vloggers viajeros de Canadá. En este canal compartimos nuestros videos de viajes y comida mientras recorremos el mundo.
Nuestro viaje más reciente fue a Argentina, donde pasamos tres meses viajando por el pais y visitando lugares en las provincias de Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Chubut, Rio Negro, Neuquén, y Mendoza. Hello and greetings from Ushuaia, Argentina where we'll cover the top things to do in this Ushuaia travel guide from this fascinating city at the end of the world! Today we’re going to be visiting the southernmost city in the world, located in the province of Tierra del Fuego at the very bottom of Argentina.
This was the final stop of our massive trip across Patagonia and we’ll be sharing some of the best things to do in Ushuaia during your visit. Join us as we cruise the Beagle Channel, ride the train to the end of the world, send a postcard from the southernmost post office, tour a former prison-turned museum, explore the city via double-decker bus, and more!
The following is our Ushuaia travel guide! We hope this video gives you a few ideas of the many tours, attractions and experiences you can enjoy here!
???????? Things to do in Ushuaia, Argentina ????????
1) Cruise the Beagle Channel
This is a great opportunity to see some wildlife like cormorants, penguins and sea lions! Bring your passport on the cruise because you can get a Beagle Channel stamp.
2) See the Lighthouse and End of the World
Often attributed as Jules Verne's lighthouse at the end of the world, this lighthouse's real name is Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse.
3) Admire the Penguins on Hammer Island
Not all tour operators are allowed to disembark at the penguin rookery, so in our case, we just admired them from the boat!
4) Go on a Double-Decker Bus Tour of Ushuaia
Picture an old-fashioned double-decker bus painted bright blue, and then get ready to be transported back through time as you set step aboard. Over the course of the tour you’ll get to learn about Ushuaia’s history and hear fun anecdotes, with a bit of tango music in between.
5) Visit the Prison at the End of the World
Ushuaia was founded as a penal colony and this prison was in operation between 1902 to 1947. Today, it houses multiple museums including the Prison Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Antarctic Museum, the Art Museum, and the Art Gallery.
6) Tour the Themed Gallery of Fuegian History
This is a museum featuring dioramas and lifelike figures that showcase the history of the province of Tierra del Fuego. The visit is done as a self-guided tour with an audio guide, so you can go at your own pace.
7) Visit the End of the World Museum
This museum deals with local history and natural history. The displays here focus on local wildlife and shipwreck remains.
8) Visit the Former Government House + Botanical Garden
Set in the former Government House, this museum has a couple of displays relating to its history, as well as a small botanical garden.
9) Sample the Local Cuisine
Ushuaia has lots of unique seafood dishes and the thing to try is the king crab!
10) Go on a Walk along the Harbour
Another thing we’d recommend doing in Ushuaia is walking along the Costanera, which is the boardwalk along the waterfront. You can see all sorts of vessels in the harbour, including cruises departing for Antarctica.
11) See the Saint Christopher
Once known as the HMS Justice, this was a Royal Navy ship classified as a rescue tug and it served at the Normandy landings during World War 2. After the war, the ship was sold and renamed Saint Christopher, where it was chartered for salvage operations in Beagle Channel.
12) Take a photo at the Ushuaia City Sign
This is an iconic photo-op to show you made it to the end of the world.
13) Hike in Tierra del Fuego National Park
This is a very easy day trip from Ushuaia seeing as the park is located just 12 kilometres west of the city. This park consists of subantarctic forest and boasts some dramatic landscapes featuring snow-capped mountains, forests, lagoons and pebbly coves. One of our favourite hikes was Senda Costera, which is the coastal trail along the Beagle Channel.
14) Visit Lapataia Bay
This part of the national park features 6 mini trails that are between 400 meters and 2 kilometres in length. They are very short hikes and easy.
15) Send mail from the Southernmost Post Office
This tiny post office sits atop a pier on the shores of the Beagle Channel and it’s the last chance to send mail before reaching Antarctica.
16) Ride the Train at the End of the World
Once upon a time, this was known as the train of prisoners, but today, the train has been developed into a heritage train and it’s considered the southernmost functioning railway in the world.
17) Take a Day trip to Tolhuin
This is a small town located an hour and a half away from Ushuaia. The main draw to this town is its famous bakery, where you can enjoy all sorts of pastries, empanadas, and even artisanal chocolates. Aside from that, there is a beautiful lake and a few hiking trails.

Chubut - Trelew
Trelew es una ciudad argentina en el noreste de la Patagonia. Los inmigrantes galeses que llegaron en la década de 1880 dejaron su legado plasmado en edificios como la capilla Moriah, con una fachada simple y de ladrillos rojos. En la antigua estación de trenes, se encuentra el Museo Pueblo de Luis, en el que se exhiben artefactos de origen galés e indígena. El Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio exhibe material sobre los dinosaurios patagónicos. En las cercanías, la ciudad de Gaiman tiene casas de té galesas.
Visitando Trelew + Comiendo en el Hotel Touring Club (Famoso por Butch Cassidy) | Chubut, Argentina
En este video salimos a pasear por Trelew un día domingo y nos encontramos con que las calles estan vacias y casí todos los negocios cerrados. No teníamos muchas opciones, pero econtramos un restaurante que estaba abierto; Raices, donde comimos canelones y gnocchi! Luego caminamos a la Laguna Chiquichano, dimos una vuelta por Plaza Centenario, visitamos Plaza Independecia y entramos al Museo De Artes Visuales de Trelew. Al día siguiente, visitamos el famoso Hotel Touring Club que alojó a Butch Cassidy (un famoso ladrón de trenes y bancos estadounidense) y Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (un aviador y el autor de 'El Principito').

마을을 떠나는 길엔 구름까지 잔뜩 몰려오더니 결국 비바람이 몰아치기 시작했다. 하필 오늘은 펭귄 서식지에 오기로 한 날. 일단 표를 사긴 샀는데 바람이 너무 세서 정신을 차릴 수가 없었다. 어느 정도 정신이 없었냐면 거스름돈을 깜빡했다. 풀들이 다 휘어버릴 만큼 거센 바람을 보니 여기 사는 펭귄들이 걱정됐다. “보통 날씨가 이런가요?” “이곳 날씨는 일반적으로 비보다 바람이 문제죠. 파타고니아가 대체로 날씨가 안 좋은 편이에요. 특히 바람이 너무 많이 불죠.” 날씨가 대체로 이렇다는 말에 용기를 냈다. 서울에서 2만 킬로미터, 다음을 기약할 수도 없었다. “펭귄을 만지거나 귀찮게 하면 안 됩니다.” 이런 날씨에 펭귄이 있을까 걱정했는데 입구부터 귀여운 울음소리가 들린다. 나를 처음으로 반겨준 이 녀석. 장난감 나팔 같은 목소리가 독특하다. 얼음이 아닌 따뜻한 땅을 좋아하는 마젤란 펭귄은 이곳에 집을 짓고 매년 봄, 여름을 보낸다. 신기하게도 같은 집에서 같은 암수가 매년 만나 이렇게 예쁜 새끼를 낳고, 여름 내내 수영을 가르쳐서 가을이 되면 더 따뜻한 브라질로 떠난다고 한다. 바람 부는 허허벌판에서 5kg의 몸으로 버티는 펭귄들이 기특해 보였다. 한 녀석은 길목에서 나를 기다리고 있는 것 같더니 따라나서자 이렇게 줄행랑을 쳤다. 놀랍게도 나보다 빨랐다. 이제는 산책로 한가운데 누워 있기까지... 손을 뻗어 인사를 했더니 이리저리 고개를 돌리며 나를 구경한다. 비바람을 뚫고 1.5킬로미터를 걸어 도착한 전망대. 멍하니 서 있다 물속으로 넘어지는 펭귄이 정말 귀엽다. 이곳은 펭귄의 사냥터. 잠수를 해서 오징어와 조개를 찾아낸다. 그때, 드디어 사람을 발견했다. 꼭 물어보고 싶은 게 있었다. “왜 하필 오늘을 택했어요?” “이미 일곱 달 전에 계획한 일이거든요. 그래서 오늘 여기 온 거죠” “펭귄은 많이 봤어요?” “많이 봤죠. 사실 여자친구가 펭귄을 정말 좋아해서요. 아 물론 저도 좋아하죠. 여자친구는 펭귄을 정말 좋아해요. 펭귄은 정말 놀라워요. 땅에서는 두 발로 제대로 서 있지도 못하는 동물이 물에 들어가면 돌변해요. 전망대에서 아래를 내려다보면 펭귄이 정말 빨리 수영하고 있는 걸 볼 수 있죠. 그건 마치... 글쎄요. 뭐라 표현할 말을 못 찾겠네요.” “펭귄이 바람에 떠밀려서 그런 게 아닐까요?” “그럴 수도 있겠네요. 물이 있으니까요.” 작은 몸집으로 바람을 견디던 펭귄들의 모습이 오래 기억될 것 같다.

Argentina is the world’s eighth-largest country by area.
With a population of around 45 million Argentina is one of the least densely populated countries on the planet.
Some 97 percent of Argentines are of European origin, largely of Spanish or Italian descent.
Best known for its beef, Argentina is also a leading producer of wine, wheat, fruits and vegetables.
Argentines have twice been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Carlos de Saavedra Lamas, in 1936, for his peace efforts in South America, and Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, in 1980, for his defence of human rights.
The remains of the largest-known dinosaur – the Patagotitan mayorum, were discovered by chance by a farm worker in Patagonia in 2008.
Argentina has a vibrant film industry and has twice carried off an Oscar for best foreign language film. La historia oficial (The Official Story) won in 1985 and El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes) in 2010.
Argentina has many beautiful sights: the waterfalls of Iguazú; the spectacular Glaciar Perito Moreno; whale-watching off Península Valdés; the handsome lakes and mountains around Bariloche. If you’re planning to travel to Argentina, bear in mind the long distances between key destinations – it’s a huge country!
Many of Argentina’s most rewarding destinations are also its least well known. These include the Ibera Wetlands (Esteros del Iberá), a huge network of lagoons offering close-up encounters with cormorants and caymans. Likewise the Antofagasta de la Sierra, a remote village set amid frozen lakes mottled pink with flamingos; or Laguna Diamante, a high-altitude lake backed by a volcano. Climate and distance mean it’s more sensible and rewarding to concentrate on one or two sections of the country when planning your travel.
Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is likely to be your point of entry, as it has the country’s main international airport, Ezeiza. It is an exciting, vibrant city, with an intriguing blend of European architecture and a local flair. You can round off a day’s sightseeing with a tango show, dinner at one of the dozens of fabulous restaurants, or a hedonistic night out.
Argentina is home the lion’s share of the wild, sparsely populated expanses of Patagonia (the rest belongs to Chile). It also possesses y the most populous half of the remote archipelago of Tierra del Fuego. These are lands of arid steppe hemmed by the southern leg of the Andes – a row of majestic volcanoes and craggy peaks interspersed by deep glacial lakes. For many people, Patagonia is the first page they turn to in any guide to Argentina.
On the Atlantic side of Patagonia, Península Valdés is a must-see for its world-class marine fauna, including southern right whales, elephant seals and orcas. You may like to trace the region’s associations with Darwin and his captain Fitz Roy in the choppy Beagle Channel off Ushuaia. You could track down the legacy of Butch Cassidy, who lived near Cholila, or of the Welsh settlers whose influence can still be felt in communities like Gaiman, Trelew and – further inland – Trevelin.
Best time to go to Argentina
In this section of our Argentina travel guide we’ll look at the best times to visit.
Spring is perhaps the best time to go to Argentina. The weather in Argentina in spring (Sep-Nov) is perfect almost everywhere, although icy weather is still possible in the far south.
Summer (Dec–Feb) is the only time you can climb the highest Andean peaks, such as Aconcagua. It's also the most reliable time of year to head for Tierra del Fuego, though it can snow there at any time. Buenos Aires is usually hot and sticky in December and January. You should also avoid parts of the north, as temperatures can be scorching and roads flooded by heavy storms.
Autumn (March and April) is a great time to visit Argentina – particularly Mendoza and San Juan provinces for the wine harvests. Visit Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego to see the beech groves as their leaves change colour.
The winter months of June, July and August are obviously the time to head for the Andean ski resorts. Blizzards can cut off towns in Patagonia in winter, and many places in the region close from April to October. Temperatures in the north of the country should be pleasant at this time of year, though Buenos Aires can be bleak in July and August.
A final point to bear in mind when it comes to Argentina travel: many locals take their holidays in January, around Easter and in July. Transport and accommodation can get booked up fast and rates can double.
