EXPLORING SANTIAGO + WHAT TO EAT IN CHILE // CHILE TRAVEL VLOG

Welcome to Santiago, Chile in 2022! Exploring Santiago is a great way to start learning more about Chile and the people who live in it, so in this video we explore the city and eat tons of Chilean food!

We start our exploration of Santiago with a visit to Plaza de Armas before heading to Paseo Ahumada to check out the many shops that pop up along this busy pedestrian street. We also visit the Catedral de Santiago, Plaza de la Constitucion (Constitution Plaza) to see La Moneda Palace (the President's Palace), Mercado la Vega (La Vega Market), Santiago Mercado Central (Santiago's Central Market), and San Cristobal Hill.

In between these attractions we try as many foods as we can stomach in one day! We managed to get our hands on some delicious Chilean flan (we are pretty sure it was flan), crab empandadas, piscola, torta de mil hojas (cake of a thousand leaves), mote con huesillo, hamburguesa chilena from Antigua Fuente, and chorrillana. If you don't know what some of those foods are, enjoy watching us learn about them in this video as well!

We had a jam packed day exploring Chile's capital city, and we hope this video gives you some ideas of what to do and eat for your next visit to Santiago! If you are interested in seeing more videos from South America, hit subscribe to keep up with our adventures!

Day Trip From Lima, Peru | Pachacamac Ruins + Peruvian Food Buffet + Peruvian Folk Dancing

Join us for a day trip from Lima, Peru as we head 40 kilometers outside of the city centre to visit the Pachacamac Ruins and Museum followed by a Peruvian food buffet at Dpaso Mamacona which also featured traditional Peruvian folklore dancing, music and horse performance.

Pachacamac located in the Valley of the Lurín River is named after the earth maker and flourished for 1,300 years before Spanish invasion. Some of the famous archeological structures include the pyramids and temple of the sun.

After visiting this site and the museum we head over to Dpaso Mamacona where we had an amazing Peruvian food buffet featuring appetizers, mains and desserts. During the meal we were entertained by Peruvian folklore dancing and music and following the meal we witnessed a horse performance.

Overall, it was a fantastic day trip from Lima and something we'd recommend if you've been in the city for a whole and you're looking for a change of scenery.

Day Trip From Lima, Peru | Pachacamac Ruins + Peruvian Food Buffet + Peruvian Folk Dancing Travel Video Transcript:

It is time for a day trip. We have been spending a lot of time in Lima. And today we finally convinced my Aunt to take us somewhere. It is nice of her to be honest. So we at Pachacamac. We drove maybe about an hour outside of Lima. It was a very short drive to be honest. So the plan is we're going to visit the museum of Pachacamac, then the ruins of Pachacamac. And then we are going to a show to see the Peruvian horses do the dance. It is like a horse show. It is kind of like the Peruvian gauchos right? It should be really cool. From what I've read we have a buffet. We have a Peruvian buffet for so we're going to be eating a lot of really good Peruvian food too. So basically three really awesome activities for the day. Let's get started.

Pachacamac is an archeological site that sits 40 kilometers southeast of Lima in the Lurin Valley. The archeological complex is made up of plazas, palaces and temple pyramids but our first stop was a museum to see some of the artifacts that have been found in the area.

A few quick facts before we start touring the ruins. So tickets we paid 15 Soles per person.

The earliest construction in Pachacamac date from the first century but that site reached its peak during the Wari Culture sometime around the 10th century. This was considered to be an important religious site and pilgrims would come to pay homage to their creator god Pachacamac. Who was associated with War and whose anger resulted in tremors and earthquakes.

We've left the ruins behind and arrived at Dpaso Mamacona.

This is my starter. I went for causa, some ceviche, tiradito and a few different salads.

I have potato with huancaina sauce which is really really good. I have causa which I also doused with that too which again is like soft potato inside. It is like a yellow potato shepherd's pie kind of. Inside you have avocado and meat. And then this was I forget the name of this one. Do you remember? Tiradito. Yes, it is fish with uh aji sauce. But a spicy yellow pepper sauce. You got octopus as well. Which is what is that one called again? Pulpo.

This is part of our Travel in Peru video series showcasing Peruvian food, Peruvian culture and Peruvian cuisine.

10 AUTHENTIC Mississauga Restaurants to Inspire Travel ✈️ Greater Toronto CANADA

Best independent Mississauga restaurants for authentic food from Asia and Latin America. Try real Mexican tacos, Pakistani kababs, Singaporean laksa, Filipino Pork Sigsig, Venezuelan reina pepiada, Korean soon tofu, Ecuadorian hornado, Indonesian rendang, Colombian calentado.

Mississauga is the real deal for authentic food.

Mississauga has over 1800 restaurants from over 150 countries. I hope this video inspires you to explore the city and to discover something new.

Now, I don't think it does justice to call it a suburb of Toronto, because really, it's a city in itself. It has 22 neighborhoods and villages, and three quarters of a million people that's larger than some provinces in Canada.

And so I'm going to share with you the best restaurants in Mississauga that have authentic international cuisine. This is an opportunity to explore before you travel.

They may not big marketing budgets to make the top 10 lists but they serve real, authentic food from a country. These businesses are the heart of Mississauga - the entrepreneurs, the mom and pop shops, the family run businesses, the ones that have survived last few years, which have been so tough, and that's because their food is amazing.

My second visit to Mississauga was as delicious as my first! Last time I visited the Mississauga Lakeshore, video here:

This time I chose 5 restaurants in Latin American countries that served authentic food: Mexican, Ecuadorian, Colombian, Venezuelan and Peruvian.

I also chose 5 authentic Asian restaurants: Pakistani, Korean, Singaporean, Filipino and Indonesian.

►Mexico City street food guide:

I met up with 5 Mexican Guys ( and they just started their channel since I met them, so go check them out!) to go on an ultimate Mexican street food tour of Mexico City. It was one of the greatest food days I had in Mexico, and we tasted so many incredible dishes.

La Esquina del Chilaquil - For breakfast in La Condesa, there’s no better place to check out than La Esquina del Chilaquil, their tortas are delicious.
Price - 40 MXN ($2.14) each

Mercado de San Juan - I wanted to quickly check out this market, but it wasn’t all that busy when we went - there wasn’t too much going on. So we had a quick scorpion and then continued on to the ultimate street food market.
Scorpion - 160 MXN ($8.54) for 4

Mercado de La Merced - Mexico City is packed with street food, but if you want a food experience that’s busy, in your face, and always exciting and delicious, Mercado de la Merced is one of the greatest places to start. You’ll encounter massive amounts of street food that will blow your mind with how delicious they are. Here are the things we ate at the market:
Quesadilla - 57 MXN ($3.04) for 3
Fries tacos - 20 MXN ($1.07) each
Pancita - 40 MXN ($2.14) per bowl
Pambazo
Mamey - 15 MXN ($0.80)
Mango - 15 MXN ($0.80)

Churrería El Moro - This wasn’t street food, but we needed a little afternoon break, and there’s no better spot in Mexico City for churros than Churrería El Moro.
Total price - 439 MXN ($23.44) for all

Esquites - 20 MXN ($1.07) - After walking around El Zocalo - the center of Mexico City, we then had a corn snack os esquites where they add corn, mayo, cheese, and chili salsas to a cup. It’s pretty tasty.

Loncheria La Rambla - Next we tried a Mexican style turkey sandwich - it was alright, but not the best food of the day.
Torta de pavo - 35 MXN ($1.87) each

Taquería Los Cocuyos - And finally to end this Mexico City street food tour with 5 Mexican Guys, we headed to Taquería Los Cocuyos, a legendary taco stall in the heart of the center of the city. The tacos are amazing, and it was the perfect was to end this day of incredible Mexican food.
Tacos de cabeza - 17 MXN ($0.91) each

Again, thank you to Moises and 5 Mexican Guys for reaching out! Check them out here:

The Ultimate MEXICAN STREET FOOD TACOS Tour of Mexico City! (ft. La Ruta de la Garnacha)

►Subscribe to Lalo’s channel:
►T-shirts available now:

Welcome to the best tacos in the world - the ultimate guide to Mexican street food tacos in Mexico City!

I met up with Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha ( he’s from Mexico City, he makes videos about street food as well. And he took me to his favorite tacos in all of Mexico City. We each ate the most tacos in one single day that we’d ever eaten in our lives, and it was the greatest taco day of my life!

Here are all the places we ate in this video:

Tacos Joven - They are known for their tacos de canasta, which are basket tacos, famous in Mexico City. They are served from a basket, and they keep hot the entire day as they are served. The highlight here was the chicharrón taco with chicharrón salsa.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Taqueria El Abanico - This is Lalo’s favorite restaurant in Mexico City for carnitas, the wildly popular braised pork taco. The entire rib in my taco was the highlight, so tender and flavorful.
Price - 20 MXN ($1.08) per taco

El Pescadito de Sonora - Originating from Hermosillo in Sonora, El Pescadito serves Mexican seafood tacos, especially shrimp or marlin tacos. Their tacototo is a taco that will change your life. This was as good as food gets for me.
Price - 35 MXN ($1.89) per taco

Tacos Charly - When it comes to Mexican street food, suadero is one of the greatest, a massive pan of slow braising beef in its juices. When you order your tacos, they slice up the meat, dip your tortilla in the fat, and you eat it with onions, cilantro, and salsa - pure meat heaven.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Taqueria Los Güeros - Tacos de tripa, intestines, are very popular in Mexico City as well. They may not be the most pretty tacos, but they are immensely flavorful and have all sorts of different textures going on in your mouth.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Tacos Los Juanes - This is a great Mexican street food restaurant in Mexico City that serves all sorts of different tacos. We came for the tacos de cabeza and tacos de lengua, both of which were fantastic
Price - 10 MXN ($0.54) per taco

El Vilsito - For Mexican street food in Mexico City, the ultimate taco, the most loved by everyone is no doubt, Al Pastor. Cooked in the vertical spit, a technique brought over from Lebanese immigrants, Al Pastor is usually made with marinated pork that’s juicy and flavorful it might make you weep tears of joy. Lalo and I ordered, not just your ordinary tacos de al pastor, but the King of all tacos, the Gringa!
Price - 50 MXN ($2.70) each

Thanks again to Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha:

This was the greatest taco day of my life. Thank you for watching!

PERUVIAN FOOD | 12 Foods You Must Try in Peru - ( Comida Peruana | Gastronomia Peruana )

For the ultimate Peruvian food (comida peruana & gastronomia peruana) experience there are 12 foods you must try while visiting Peru. Since spending time in Peru, we can certainly validate Peru as having some of the best food in the world in our Peruvian food vlogs. Being able to experience these 12 amazing foods was not only delicious, but a true experience.

Note: There are a couple of dishes we wished we tried in Peru while we were there recently, but due to our schedule we didn't have a chance to. The ones below with an * are the ones we didn't have in Peru.

- Lomo saltado - A Chifu ( Chinese ) influenced main dish that has mixed well into the Peruvian everyday culture. Tasty beef stir fry that has all the right ingredients making it the perfect hearty dish.

- Ceviche - is the seafood dish originated in Peru typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, and spiced with ají, chili peppers or other seasonings including onions, salt, and cilantro. Pairs nicely with a crisp white wine.

- Ají de gallina *- A traditional and classic Peruvian food, and a dish nearly everyone loves is Ají de gallina, a chicken stew. We didn't get to try this dish in Peru but we did have it at a small traditional Peruvian restaurant by a chef from Lima Peru when we got back to Austin, TX. Pairs nicely with a cold Peruvian cerveza

- Carapulcra (con Sopa Seca con Arroz Verde) - Afro Peruvian cuisine stew of pork and dehydrated potatoes, with peanuts, aji panca and mirasol peppers, garlic, and other spices like clove.

- Alpaca - Some of the healthiest and most flavorful meats in the world. A mild meat which takes on the flavor of the dish. It is slightly salty, lean, high in protein with no fatty after taste.

- Cuy - alternately called Cobayo or conejillo de indias is a guinea pig. Taste like rabbit or chicken. Though difficult to accept for people in other countries who regard guinea pigs as pets, the cuy is a staple of Andean cuisine.

- Anticuchos - *Grilled Beef cow heart. It's a traditional Peruvian dish that date back to the 16th century.when they were first encountered by the Spanish conquistadors. Generally served on skewers and grilled on an open fire with incredible spices.

- Causa Limeña * - basically a layered potato chicken salad. If you like chicken or tuna salad, you'll love this dish. This wasn't our favorite. Very tasty but just reminded us of that chicken salad that mom made.

Desserts
- Alfajores - soft, delicate cookies made from cornstarch. What hold the cookie together is a creamy Dulce de leche. Topped with a little powdered sugar.
_ Picarones - Peruvian dessert that originated in Lima. It's main ingredients are squash and/or sweet potato. It is served in a doughnut form and covered with chancaca syrup.
Drinks
- Pisco Sour - alcoholic cocktail of Peru. The name comes from pisco, which is its base liquor, and the cocktail term sour, in reference to sour citrus juice and sweetener components. It's topped with an egg white layer.
- Chicha Morado - originated in the Andean regions of Perú and made from the purple corn

Miraflores Travel Guide (The Search for Ceviche) - Lima, Peru ????????

Lima is the capital of Peru, we explore this culture rich, coastal city in the Miraflores district. Exploring the city on foot, catching a gorgeous sunset over the Pacific Ocean. After that it's off to the treasures of Lima's night market, practicing some English with the locals and then to Al Fresco's for some amazing Ceviche and to celebrate Mikey's Birthday!

6:02 - A group of to-be Stewardesses need our help to pass their assignment
10:08 - Ceviche dining, quite possibly the best fish we’ve ever had
12:49 - Mikey’s birthday celebration

Episode 25

We arrived at Pariwana Hostel in Lima, Peru. A quick tour of the grounds revealed this hostel has everything you would need and the rooms were nice as well, but we were not here to sit still. Heading out to explore the city, we headed for the sun set and watched the city transform into night mode from on top of the cliffs outside the Larcomar shopping and entertainment center.

As the evening settles in, cities offer new opportunities and that started with a night market. It featured carvings, baskets, bracelets, stones and it was interesting to see all of these hand crafted pieces. Robbie purchased a quartz stone but didn’t have his brother Peter, convinced it was a good deal so Peter negotiated the price by handing the money over to get the vendor to say “yes”.

While this was happening Mikey had some stewardesses in training get his assistance with an english assignment which was to ask a list of questions and record the answers. Since they could tell from far we were tourist, it was a natural choice.

When our full group moved over to this questionnaire we had the stewardesses quite nervous but one of them did a good job organizing the numbers and we began our list of questions with a few different people. There were a lot of mistranslations and laughs on both sides but we all helped each other ease the jitters out.

Fil turned the session into a game show, asking questions back to the girls and trying to rearrange the rules to make this faster and more fun for everyone. He convinced them to sing Happy Birthday for Mikey and said goodbye with a classic high five.

The birthday march continued through the streets of Lima and we chose our dinner at a seafood restaurant called Al Fresco. This dinner was the kind of experience we live to travel for with service and particularly the food reaching the highest levels. Al Fresco features a special dish celled Ceviche which is high quality raw fish cured in citrus juices that perform the cooking action and add wonderful flavour.

Robbie is highly allergic to shellfish so he is literally trusting the restaurant with his life when he sat down for a full meal there but there was never a moment of doubt at the waiter knew exactly what dishes he could and couldn’t eat, and he loved the ceviche.

Mikey’s birthday was the focus of the evening and it came to it climax when we got them to quietly bring him a birthday cake with his name written on the plate. It was an emotional moment for him as well as the crew and it was something special to share that all together.

Lima is the capital of Peru located in the central coastal part of the nation's coastline. It is the largest city in country with a population of almost 10 million and is also one of the oldest cities of Peru. This historic background mixed with grand scale gives any traveler plenty of cultural nooks to explore. From the people, to the food, to entertainment and shopping centers like Larcomar built on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Lima has everything you can ask from a city and more.
