Burkina Faso es un país sin litoral de África Occidental que limita al noroeste con Malí, al noreste con Níger, al sur con Costa de Marfil, Ghana, Togo y Benín. En julio de 2019, un informe de Naciones Unidas estimó su población en 20,321,378.4 Anteriormente llamada República del Alto Volta (1958-1984), el país fue nombrado Burkina Faso el 4 de agosto de 1984 por el entonces presidente Thomas Sankara. Sus ciudadanos son conocidos como burkineses, y su capital y ciudad más grande es Uagadugú. Debido al colonialismo francés, el idioma oficial del gobierno y los negocios es el francés, sin embargo, solo el 15% de la población lo habla de forma habitual.5 En Burkina Faso se hablan 59 idiomas nativos, y el más común, el mossi, lo habla aproximadamente el 50 % de la población.67
Se independizó de Francia el 5 de agosto de 1960. Después de protestas estudiantiles y sindicales, el primer presidente del país, Maurice Yaméogo, fue depuesto en un golpe de Estado en 1966, encabezado por Sangoulé Lamizana. Su gobierno coincidió con una sequía y hambruna en el Sahel, y fue depuesto en un golpe de estado en 1980, dirigido por Saye Zerbo. Al encontrar nuevamente la resistencia de los sindicatos, el gobierno de Zerbo fue derrocado por otro golpe de estado de 1982, encabezado por Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo.
Thomas Sankara, un marxista y líder de la facción izquierdista del gobierno de Ouédraogo, fue nombrado primer ministro, pero fue luego encarcelado. Burkina Faso es el 61.° país más poblado y el 73.° más grande del mundo, con una población cercana a los 20 millones de personas y un área de 274 200 km².2 Para efectos comparativos, su número de habitantes es similar al de Chile y su superficie a la de Ecuador.
El país posee dos regiones principales:
Una suavemente ondulada, en la que afloran unas pocas colinas aisladas, que son los últimos vestigios de un macizo precámbrico.
Una compuesta por un macizo de arenisca, donde se encuentra el monte Ténakourou, que con 749 metros de altura es el más elevado del país. Lo rodean paredes de hasta 150 metros de altura.
La altitud media es de 400 metros y la diferencia entre el punto más elevado y el más bajo es inferior a 600 metros. En general, Burkina Faso es un país plano.

10 Most Dangerous Countries for Americans or Westerners.
You know some countries are more dangerous than Detroit or a Lingerie party at my cousin's ex-wife's house. Yes, it's hard to believe, I know.
In general, the world can be a dangerous place. You could be in danger no matter where your plane lands. The thing is, some countries excel in danger. And some even bump that up a notch depending on where you hail from. If you think everyone in the world loves America and its people, you’ve lived a sheltered life and I want to congratulate you on escaping from where ever you were and are now able to get on the internet to watch this video.
The fact is, some countries are dangerous for everyone, especially Americans, so much so the Dept. of State updates a report every couple weeks called Travel Advisory. This is a report that ranks the danger level a country might have for Americans that travel there. It has colors like a mood right of danger and goes from level 1 Blue that Exercise normal precautions, up to 4) Red Do not travel.

Project General Description
The Accra Urban Transport Project (AUTP), is located in an industrial zone in the north-eastern part of Accra and seeks to contribute towards integrated transport and urban development solutions in Accra. It is sequel to the Awoshie – Pokuase Road and Community Development Project financed by the Bank. The Project provides: i) a modern 3- tier grade-separated interchange at Pokuase (the intersection point of the current Bank financed Awoshie-Pokuase Road with other adjoining roads) - a node which is currently a critical missing link; ii) a long term urban development strategic plan in partnership with Cities Alliance and the local municipalities to provide a common platform to develop integrated and collaborative decision making tools for city planning and management in support of the SDGs; and iii) capacity building initiatives targeting the Executing Agency, schools and the local community, geared towards improving effectiveness in project and business development using Information Technology. The total Project cost net of taxes and duties, is estimated at UA68.024 million. The overall implementation period is three and half years (2017 – 2020) including 2 years construction period and 1 year maintenance period.
Project Objectives
The Development goal of the Accra Urban Development Project (AUTP) is to promote sustainable economic growth, enhanced inclusive urban development and reduced poverty whilst promoting trade and regional integration. The specific objective of the AUTP is to promote efficient movement of goods and people to and from the city through Pokuase, boost trade along the connecting routes, provide income generation opportunities, promote affordable transport services and generally improve the livelihoods of the people in the project area.
Beneficiaries
Direct Project Beneficiaries include: i) the factories and Agro industries within the project zone; ii) commuters and the populations of the project corridor; iii) the transporters and travellers on the Accra-Kumasi road corridor, which is the main transit route for food produced from the Brong Ahafo region (the bread basket of the country) to Accra, and forms part of the Ghana – Burkina Faso road corridor.

Le Lesotho, enclavé en Afrique du Sud, est l'un des pays les plus pauvres au monde. Il est aussi d'une beauté à couper le souffle, et possède une ressource rare et précieuse : l'eau. Pendant les longs mois d'hiver austral, le Lesotho se couvre de neige et au milieu des monts pelés, il y a même une piste de ski très prisée des Sud-Africains. Dans le no man's land qui sépare l'Afrique du Sud du Lesotho, les véhicules doivent affronter une route en lacets semée d'embûches et franchir sous les rafales de vent le Sani Pass, un col à la sinistre réputation. Au volant de leur vieux taxi, sur les pistes en terre et les routes désertes qui traversent les montagnes, Alice et Fébellina, quant à elles, galèrent à chercher de nouveaux clients.

Malí o Mali, cuyo nombre completo es República de Malí (en francés, République du Mali), es un Estado sin litoral situado en África Occidental, que tiene como su capital a la ciudad de Bamako.
Es el octavo país más extenso de África y limita al norte con Argelia, al este con Níger, al oeste con Mauritania y Senegal, y al sur con Costa de Marfil, Guinea y con Burkina Faso. Su tamaño es de 1 240 192 km²3 y su población estimada es de alrededor de 20 millones de habitantes (2021). Su capital y ciudad más poblada es Bamako.
Constituida por ocho regiones, Malí tiene sus fronteras al norte en el medio del desierto del Sáhara, mientras que la región meridional, donde vive la mayor parte de sus habitantes, está cercana a los ríos de Níger y Senegal. La estructura económica del país se centra en la agricultura y la pesca. Pese a que algunos de sus recursos naturales son el oro, el uranio y la sal.
El territorio maliense fue sede de los tres imperios de África Occidental que controlaban el comercio transahariano: el Imperio de Ghana, el Imperio de Malí (del cual Malí toma su nombre) y el Imperio songhay. A fines del siglo xix, Malí cayó bajo el control de Francia, pasando a formar parte del Sudán francés. En 1959 consiguió su independencia junto con Senegal, convirtiéndose así en la Federación Malí, la cual se desintegraría un año después. Tras un tiempo en el que solo existía un partido político, un golpe de Estado en 1991 llevó a la redacción de una nueva constitución y al establecimiento de Malí como una nación democrática con un sistema pluripartidista.
El 18 de agosto de 2020, el presidente de la nación y el primer ministro fueron arrestados por los militares después de un motín surgido a partir de protestas sobre las continuas dificultades económicas y el empeoramiento de la situación de seguridad nacional. Al día siguiente renunciaron. map of Mali Malí está dividido en ocho regiones administrativas y un distrito. Estas divisiones llevan el nombre de la ciudad principal de cada zona. Las tres regiones del norte, Gao, Kidal y Tombuctú, representan dos tercios de la superficie del país, con solamente el 10 % de su población. El sur del país está dividido en las regiones de Kayes, Kulikoró, Mopti, Segú, Sikasso y el distrito de Bamako.
Actualmente está en curso una reforma de descentralización, que tiene por objetivo la transferencia de las competencias a las colectividades administrativas con el fin de que los intereses locales sean gestionados lo más cerca posible de la población. Esta reforma quiere acabar con la división territorial heredada de la colonización. Consta de un proceso de consulta popular que ha permitido la creación de comunas, las cuales reúnen varios pueblos y fracciones de territorio siguiendo criterios bien definidos.57
Existen 703 comunas en Malí, de las cuales 684 fueron creadas en 1996. Una ley de 1999 confirma esta reorganización administrativa y territorial, con la creación de los círculos (reagrupamiento de varias comunas) y las regiones (reagrupamiento de círculos).58
El gobierno maliense creó una dirección nacional de las colectividades territoriales en el seno del Ministerio de la Administración Territorial y de la Colectividades Locales (MATCL). Esta institución está encargada del seguimiento y puesta en marcha de la descentralización y el refuerzo de las capacidades colectivas territoriales, así como de los dispositivos de apoyo técnico y de apoyo financiero.
En 2005, en el cuadro de la política nacional, fue adoptado un documento de descentralización previsto para los años 2005-2014. Consta de cuatro ejes principales: el desarrollo de las capacidades colectivas humanas, de la desconcentración de los servicios del Estado, de la ciudadanía y de las prestaciones privadas de servicios en el ámbito local. Ese mismo año fue creada la octava institución de la República de Malí, el Alto Consejo de las Colectividades Territoriales, que asegura la representación nacional de las colectividades territoriales. Su finalidad es responder a las cuestiones que conciernen al desarrollo local y regional, a la protección del medio ambiente y a la mejora de la calidad de vida

Malí es un estado sin litoral situado en África Occidental, al suroeste de Argelia. Con una superficie de 1 240 192 kilómetros cuadrados, se encuentra en el puesto número 24 de la lista de países por superficie, y su tamaño es similar al de Sudáfrica y Angola. La mayor parte del país forma parte del sur del Sahara, por lo que es caluroso y, comúnmente, se forman tormentas de arena durante las estaciones secas.59 El país se extiende al suroeste a través del Sahel hasta la sabana sudanesa. El territorio maliense es en su mayoría plano, aunque en ocasiones esta llanura es interrumpida por colinas rocosas. Esta semana hablamos de Benín como destino esencial de Last Places, del proyecto de ‘revival cultural’ vinculado a los tatuajes y a las escarificaciones, de la arquitectura afro-brasileña, y de las tribus más tradicionales del país. Durante la charla expondremos los motivos por los que solemos recomendar a Benín como destino para introducirse a África. Hablaremos de arquitectura: ciudades lacustres conocidas como Venecias africanas, el estilo Afro-Brasileño único en Benín y Nigeria. Desmitificamos (modestamente) algunas ideas eurocéntricas sobre el vudú y comentaremos el viaje de Aníbal Bueno de noviembre para visitar y convivir con las últimas tribus tatuadas de África Occidental.
