Thane is a city just outside Mumbai, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It’s known as the ‘City of Lakes’, and its more than 30 lakes include tree-lined Upvan Lake, a popular recreational spot. Beside Talao Pali Lake, Kopineshwar Mandir is an old, domed Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. To the west, leopards, monkeys and parakeets inhabit the teak forest and bamboo groves of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

Kurukshetra is a city in the north Indian state of Haryana. It's known as the setting of the Hindu epic poem the Mahabharata. The text's great battle is depicted in a large diorama at the Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre. West of the city, the town of Jyotisar is a pilgrimage site where, according to the Mahabharata, the sacred Bhagavad Gita scripture was first delivered.

According to the Puranas, Kurukshetra is a region named after King Kuru, the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas in the Kuru kingdom, as depicted in epic Mahabharata. The Kurukshetra War of the Mahabharata is believed to have taken place here. Thaneswar whose urban area is merged with Kurukshetra is a pilgrimage site with many locations attributed to Mahabharata.
In the Vedas Kurukshetra is described not as a city but as a region (kshetra means region in Sanskrit). The boundaries of Kurukshetra correspond roughly to the central and western parts of the state of Haryana and southern Punjab. According to the Taittiriya Aranyaka , the Kurukshetra region is south of Turghna (Srughna/Sugh in Sirhind, Punjab), north of Khandava (Delhi and Mewat region), east of Maru (desert), and west of Parin.
According to the Vamana Purana, King Kuru chose land at the banks of the Sarasvati River for embedding spirituality with eight virtues: austerity (Tapas), truth (Satya), forgiveness (Kshama), kindness (Daya), purity (Shuddha), charity (Daana), devotion (Yajna), and conduct (Brahmacharya). Lord Vishnu was impressed with the acts of King Kuru and blessed him with two boons—first, that this land forever will be known as a Holy Land after his name as Kurukshetra (the land of Kuru); second that anyone dying on this land will go to heaven.
The land of Kurukshetra was situated between two rivers—the Sarasvati and the Drishadvati.
Brahma Sarovar: Every year lakhs (hundreds of thousands) of people come to take a holy bath at Brahma Sarovar on the occasion of Somavati Amavasya (Sacred No-Moon Day that happens on a Monday) and on solar eclipses. They believe that a bath in the holy Sarovar frees all sins and cycle of birth-death. The Sarovar is one of Asia's largest man-made ponds. Hindu genealogy registers are kept here.
Sannihit Sarovar: The pond is believed to be the meeting point of seven sacred Saraswatis. The Sarovar, according to popular belief, contains sacred water. Bathing in the waters of the tank on the day of Amavasya (night of complete darkness) or on the day of an eclipse bestows blessings equivalent to performing the Ashvamedh Yajna.
Jyotisar: The famous site where Bhagavad Gita was delivered to Arjuna under the tree. The tree of that time is witness to Gita.
Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre: A mural depiction of the Mahabharata war.
Dharohar Museum: A museum about the tradition and cultural depiction of Haryana located in Kurukshetra University.

It is a North Indian state surrounding New Delhi on 3 sides. The Yamuna River runs along its eastern border with Uttar Pradesh. Shared with Punjab, the state capital Chandigarh is known for its modernist buildings and grid like street plan designed by Le Corbusier. Its Zakir Hussain Rose Garden features 1,600 species, while its Rock Garden showcases sculptures made with recycled materials.
1) Cyber Hub, Gurgaon

5) Feroze Shah's palace and Fort, Hisar
The original town of Hisar was a walled settlement inside the fort with four gates, Delhi gate, Mori gate, Nagauri gate and Talaqi gate. The palace consists of a mosque known as Lat ki Masjid. Lat is a sandstone pillar about 20 feet high and was earlier an Ashokan pillar. The restoration work of the palace started in 1924 and have since been gradually renovated until recent times. The complex has been declared as a Centrally Protected Monument by Archaeological Survey of India.

9) Brahma Sarovar, Thanesar
According to stories, Lord Brahma created the universe from Kurukshetra after a huge yajna. The sarovar also has a mention in Mahabharata citing its use by Duryodhana as a place for hiding himself under water on the concluding day of the war. It is 3600 feet long and 1500 feet broad and is in the shape of a perfect rectangle. The tanks are especially crowded during solar eclipse, it is believed that a dip during the solar eclipse absolves one of all sins. It is considered as one of the largest man-made ponds.

Sheikh Chilli Tomb is a famous tourist place located in thanesar, Kurukshetra, Haryana. It includes two tombs, madrasa, museum and Mughal Garden. It is a very nice place to visit for a day picnic.
Panorama and Science Centre is a unique centre that combines science with religion. A science park has also been setup outside the centre's building.
Shree krishna museum has six galleries, three each in two blocks. It presents multifaceted personality of lord krishna. On display are stone sculptures, bronze casting, leaf etching etc.
Kalpana Chawla Planetarium is established by NCSM and run by state government in the memory of astronaut Kalpana Chawla. Here we get information about space and other scientific topics.
Crocodile Breeding Park is a tank full of crocodiles in village Bhaur saidan situated on pehowa Kurukshetra Road, 22 Km from kurukshetra. It is maintained by forest department since 1982.

Sannihit Sarovar is a holy pond known as Chhota Talaab( small pond )in local people.The name Sannihit is given to it beacuse it is believed that Lord Vishnu stay in the holy water of the tank.
It is 500 yards long and 150 yards widen.Ghats are built with red stone and marble.First of all pilgrims come to this place and perform shradh,tarpan(memorial service for the dead) etc. of their ancestors with the help of tirth purohits.This is an abode of Lord Vishnu.
It is believed that Sannihit Sarovar is the meeting point of seven sacred Saraswatis and contains sacred water. Bathing in the waters of the tank on the day of Amavasya (no moon day) or on the day of an eclipse bestows blessings equivalent to performing the 100 ashvamedh yajna.Bathing in this sarovar is believed to offer peace to wandering and unhappy souls.
