This wine sanctuary is situated north of San Diego and 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles. They are the wine region of southern California on a 3,500-acre vineyard. Temecula Wine Country is still unknown to some people because it is relatively small compared to other wine regions.
It is like a hidden gem in California, but they make fantastic wines. And hundreds of them are even award-winning wines.
Some people would visit the region during harvest season to participate in grape-treading or grape stomping. They use human feet in crushing the grapes to release the juice and establish fermentation. The process is not the usual, but that is their traditional way of wine-making.
Most of the wineries in Temecula Valley have lodging and dining on-site, making it a perfect getaway for family and friends.
