MIREA AT AGAFIA LYKOVA 2018! GOING TO HELP AGAFIA LYKOVA! VOLUNTEER TRIP TO LYKOVA! ENG. VERSION

- Film maded by MIREA

Hi everybody and today will be the first part from series of mini films. you often wrote in the commennts that you want to see my films in english version. And nou you looking it! I made it for you! For those who dont know who is agafia lykova i will briefly tell her history of life. Agafia lykova is a Russian Old Believer, part of the Lykov family, who has lived alone in the wild Taiga for most of her life.
The Lykov family was discovered by accident from a helicopter and since then people showed great interest for Lykov family. Because the Lykov family lived in the wild taiga, where there are no other people, for them any disease like a cold could be fatal, because their immunity is not adapted to worldly diseases. That is why many members of the family died. Later all members of her family died and she was alone. At the moment she is 74 years old.
Periodically there are some assistants who also moved to her residence, but usually they don't last very long, because appear some different disputes, mostly about religion
And now let's go directly to our history of the trip. Let's start with our departure by train from Moscow in mid-August. The road was vey long. We were riding the train about 3 days. loaded all our huge things, we left Moscow. During these days we had to pass a lot of large cities, such as Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk and Novosibirsk. It was very interesting to see how the scenery outside the window changes. If the Western part of Russia was dominated by flat landscapes, then approaching closer to Yekaterinburg there were mountains, if they can be called so. Our ultimate destination was novokyznetsk
We arrived in Novokuznetsk at 4 am, and we had to wait for certain people who were going from Abakan to go with them already in a small town called Tashtagol where the Helipad from which we will fly to Agafia. We had so many things that we had to order a bus with a trailer. From Novokuznetsk to Tashtagol we drove about two and a half hours. Just managed to get a little sleep in the van. In Tashtagol we had a free day, as we were not in time to fly in the same day . And we took the opportunity to walk around a pretty nice city and bathed in the river Kondoma. Swimming was the best solution after three days in the train.
We spent the night in the building of the heliport, so we don't need to carry our heavy backpacks one more time. The night before we were told that we were going to be sent first, so we had a fairly early rise to gather and load all the things in the helicopter. Weather in the morning we were pleased with the clear sky and loaded the first batch of things and food in the barrow, began to carry other things to the helicopter
Our trip on mi-8 will be maybe an hour. By sending the latest messages in social networks, our helicopter begins to taxi to the runway. When I read before the trip about Agafia Lykova, I did not believe that around Her, the nearest village is 250 kilometers . But when the helicopter went up and we flew towards the lykovs residence, I believed in those words. Indeed, almost as soon as we flew away from Tashtagol, lost any roads and hints of civilization and we were surrounded only by wild and untouched forests. To fly we had at the confluence of two rivers. - Erinate and the upper Abakan. It is there the lykovs residence on the hillside
Gradually moving away from Tashtagol and approaching nearer to our end point - the lykovs residence, the mountains become more taller and more beautiful. And let's spend another minute on the story about Agatha Lykova, namely about her religious position. Agafia Lykova is from a family of old believers, so for an ordinary person at first it is quite unusual to be and live nearby. For example, take the water that it uses for its needs. She periodically holy water for herself. The water she takes from the river Erinet. And if she sees how the other person will take the water for themselves upstream than the place from which she takes water, after such an act she will go much higher, since now the water will need to purify water.
She devotes a lot of time to prayers and adheres to asceticism. If the simple words to describe what for her asceticism, you can say the worse to her the better for her. She sleeps in the summer in a small shed in the garden and do not wash. I'm sure many will ask-does she smell? And the answer will be unexpected-no, despite the fact that she does not wash.
She always wears the same clothes, only on holidays allows to wear a colorful handkerchief instead of the usual.

Agafia Lykova | दुनिया की सबसे अकेली महिला | Siberian Hermit Woman | Who Lived Alone in Siberia

Agafia Lykova , Agafia Karpovna Lykova (Russian: Агафья Карповна Лыкова, born 17 April 1944) is a Russian Old Believer, part of the Lykov family, who has lived alone in the taiga for most of her life. As of 2016, she resides in the Western Sayan mountains, in the Republic of Khakassia. Lykova became a national phenomenon in the early 1980s when Vasily Peskov published articles about her family and their extreme isolation from the rest of society. Lykova is the sole surviving member of the family and has been mostly self-sufficient since 1988, when her father died.Lykova was born in a hollowed out pine washtub in 1944 to Karp Osipovich Lykov and Akulina Lykova. She was their fourth child, and the second to be born in the Taiga.
Lykova lives 3,444 ft (1,050 m) up a remote mountainside in the Abakan Range, 150 mi (240 km) away from the nearest town. For the first 35 years of her life, Lykova did not have contact with anyone outside of her immediate family. Information about the outside world came from her father's stories and the family's Russian Orthodox Bible.
In the summer of 1978, a group of four geologists discovered the family by chance, while circling the area in a helicopter. The scientists reported that Lykova spoke a language distorted by a lifetime of isolation that sounded akin to a slow, blurred cooing. This unusual speech led to the misconception that Lykova was mentally disabled. Later, after observing her skill in hunting, cooking, sewing, reading and construction, this original misconception was revised. Peskov's book reports that Lykova's vocabulary expanded as she made further contact with the larger world, and he reports many of her uses of unexpected words in conversation. In 70 years, Lykova has ventured out of the family settlement six times. The first time was in the 1980s, shortly after Vasily Peskov's articles about the family's isolation turned them into a national phenomenon. The Soviet government paid for her to tour the Soviet Union for a month, during which time she saw airplanes, horses, cars and money for the first time. Since then, she has only left to seek medical treatment, visit distant relatives and to meet other Old Believers.
Lykova prefers her life in the taiga to life in the larger towns or cities. She claims that the air and water outside of the taiga makes her sick. She also said that she finds the busy roads frightening. In 2011 Agafia formally re-joined the Belokrinitskaya branch of the Old Believers during a visit by Metropolitan Korniliy (Titov) coinciding with her 69th birthday. In 2014, she wrote a letter that was published online, requesting anyone to come to her home to be her helper as her health is waning. She claimed in that letter to have a lump on [her] right breast, a possible sign that she has developed cancer.
In January 2016, it was reported that Lykova was airlifted to a hospital due to leg pain. Agafia was treated at a hospital in Tashtagol, and planned to return to the wilderness once emergency services were able to airlift her home. According to the questionable source The Siberian Times she did and as of mid-2019 she was still living there. #AgafiaLykova #Siberianwoman #Aloneladyofworld

MIREA AT AGAFIA LYKOVA 2018. OUR HELP FOR HER! HER LIFE AND LIFESTYLE... PART 2. ENG. VERSION

- Film maded by MIREA

So guys, Hello and this is the second part about our volunteer trip to Agafia Lykova. In the first part I showed our way we have come from Moscow to get to these places, and in this part I will tell you about how she met us, about the help in the form of work and try to briefly describe her living conditions.
According to the comments to the previous series, I realized that many believe that Agafia is not really waiting for us and will not happy we're here.. And to dispel these statements I will say for a start that it was the sixth trip to her from our University. Unfortunately it was my first trip and I did not know about such opportunities

For Agafia our arrival is a joyful event, she meets everyone with a smile on her face. From Tashtagol with us by helicopter sent the necessary things, such as candles, some food. But the greatest value for her are Church books. She sent a letter to our University, which was a request that we need to brought this huge book. After handing her this book, she studied it for an hour and a half, and even read us her excerpts. Also, together with us send feed for her goats.
Now let's move directly to our work, which we performed. First of all, she asked us to get all her potatoes from the cellar and take away bad potatoes. Since there were many of us, we managed this work in almost an hour. She herself would have spent at least a whole day working on it.
Agafia's work was for every taste and color. The girls doing hay, namely they cut grass hung it out to dry on a makeshift rack under the dry trees. After the hay is ready, they fold it. The male part of the group was first sent to replenish the firewood. Agafia burns quite a lot of wood during the winter. In the summer for the furnace , she uses 3 large logs, in the winter they spend about 8-10. If we translate to a more understandable measure, in winter Agafia burns whole stump per day on average. Our task was to give her five good stocks of firewood
Since we were enough people, we managed with this work for a couple of days without much fatigue. worked on waiting lists, while two people are chopping the firewood, others collect ready firewood,. With the weather we are obviously lucky in the early days. The weather was the best for the job. There was not a strong sun and working was quite fresh. Agafia at the same time was doing her work and periodically managed us and speaks how should be better. Agafia gets fish from the nets. In Erinat she has a fishing net which goes grayling, a pretty good size for the local rivers. Grams of 300-400 grayling can be caught.During lunch and afternoon rest, Agafia often comes to us to communicate with us and share their stories of life.. She eats separately from us. She's not supposed to eat our food. Usually she eats alone, twice a day. A couple of times she treated us to her homemade bread which is baked in the Russian oven
instead of yeast she uses her leaven. This leaven she has constantly, it only takes the necessary amount of bread and make a new leaven. The bread is baked really delicious and hearty. If you compare with the usual urban bread, its bread is more dense and with a crispy crust, but inside it is much softer and more pleasant to taste.
Let me show you how Agatha lives now. In summer, Agafia lives in a small shed, which is located in the garden. At first I will cant say that there can be sleep. Everywhere scattered bags and rags. And in this shed and sleep Agafia until the outdoors becomes too cold and only then she will sleep in the house. In her house unfortunately could not go without her permission to go there not worth it, but ask for it not very desirable. But was able to see what is inside through the window. in the window you can see only the old loom and a large number of books, more of the darkness and dust could not be seen.

Next to her House is another, at the entrance of which hang two handwritten papers. Those who are interested in what is written on them, you can press pause and try to read. This house looks more solid inside. Everything is still cleaned up last year and inside is quite clean. In this house slept a group of men who didn't want to sleep in tents. If necessary, we could make a stove here and dry clothes.
