10 BEST FOODS to eat in Hong Kong (and exactly WHERE to get them) | THE CLASSIC HONG KONG FOOD TOUR

WELCOME TO HONG KONG!
Whether you're just coming to visit, or you've just moved to Hong Kong or you're moving out of Hong Kong and want to make sure you haven't left any stones unturned before you leave, this is the tour! This is what you have to eat in Hong Kong before leaving! The MUST EATS of Hong Kong. These are the most classic, well known, and famous Hong Kong dishes and foods. Make sure to try out these foods at their most famous restaurants respectively to really get in the ultimate Hong Kong food experience.

All these restaurants are super well known so don't worry if they look off the beaten path because they're not. Also, whoever tells you these places are hidden gems are clearly lying to you LOL English menus are available at all these places with the exception of Joy Hing so don't worry. This Hong Kong food tour is meant for you to do it yourself so it shouldn't be intimidating. This food tour is also within a small area (the more touristy areas of Hong Kong) so you'll be able to do it within a few hours though I would recommend you spilt it up before two days as there is quite a bit of food.

Once you've done this, come back and we'll go through the more hidden gems of Hong Kong but start here first so you get a basic food foundation of the flavours of Hong Kong. =) If you go straight to the hidden gems without a base, you'll won't really understand why those are hidden gems, if that makes sense.

EDIT: Just doing my tour guide training and there's a correction. Cookie crust arrived in Hong Kong in the 1940's and puff pastry in the 1950's.

H.K. HIDDEN GEMS【Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve 大埔滘自然護理區】Hiking | Forest Wildlife香港行山郊遊

The World’s Forests are a Shared Stolen Treasure that we must put back for Our Children’s Future. Desmond Tutu
.
.
How can you contribute to a sustainable, and resilient recovery to the environment for our children?
.
.
Believe it or not, during World War 2 Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve in Hong Kong ???????? was once cleared of trees. After 1946, the site was protected and reforested. It has now become one of the most dense forests in Hong Kong.
.
.
This winter, we went deep into the woods for a forest adventure to spot as many animals as we could. Karson found salamanders in the mountain stream, monkeys in the trees and butterflies everywhere. We also saw sweet gum trees which had red leaves, a rare sight in Hong Kong.
.
.
Unlike many of the country parks we’ve been in Hong Kong, this forest was so mature and teeming with life that we felt like we’ve been transported to another continent! ☺️ We are grateful that Karson still had the opportunity to experience the wild in its purest form, because mankind had made the right decision 70 years ago to reforest. ????
.
.
There are 4 colour-coded walks. We took the shorter red walk this time since we started the day late. We understand that there are many other species of animals, birds and insects here like deer, leopard cats, porcupines, owls and even fireflies.
.
.
Perhaps you can also spot these animals if you take the longer walks next time! ????

[4K] TAI PO 大埔 Old Market and Waterfront Park | HONG KONG walking tour

This is a 1st person perspective walk from the traditional Tai Po Old Market to the Waterfront Park. The path along the Lam Tsuen River is absolutely amazing to walk, except the boiling temperature of 33°C!! Can you spot anyone blinking at the camera in the video?

Is TAI PO MARKET worth a visit?

Is TAI PO MARKET worth a visit?

Tai Po Market or Tai Po Hui is the name of the non-administrative area within the modern day Tai Po New Town in the Tai Po District, in the New Territories, Hong Kong. However, its exact location changed from time to time. It is considered as the town centre of the non-administrative area known as just Tai Po. The area was established as a market town, which closely related to the modern day residential and commercial area Tai Po Old Market (or Tai Po Kau Hui) and had some relation with the present-day area Tai Wo (Tai Wo Estate). However, all three area are not overlap, and divided by Lam Tsuen River or Tai Po Tai Wo Road. Tai Po Market, Tai Po Old Market and Tai Wo Estate are all within modern day Tai Po New Town (Tai Po Town).

I personally like the Tai Po Market. You can also visit nearby Fu Shin Street Market, local Man Mo Temple and the HK Railway Museum , which collectively makes a nice way to spend a 2-3 hours in a less visited area of Tai Po. The attractions are just a few minutes from the Tai Po Market MTR station as well.
