We are traveling in El Salvador and heard about an amazing waterfall tour near the small town of Tacuba. This tour started in 2000 and is family owned and operated. Located in the department of Ahuachapan, it is in southwestern part of El Salvador.
This tour is simply amazing and a must if you are visiting El Salvador.

According to Wikipedia, El Imposible (The Impossible) was named for a hazardous gorge that killed a number of farmers and pack mules transporting coffee to the Pacific. Today, the park remains one of El Salvador's most incredible natural attractions, home to the country's richest biodiversity. This video is worth watching just to see how ridiculous I look with this massive scrape on my face! Got through about by a wave in El Tunco, as I was hanging out at the beach and trying to catch some waves. Got thrown by the big evening waves, and broke my face on the El Tunco beach, with my face. Cleaned it up and the next day we headed to a town just north of El Tunco, know as Tamanique to go see some beautiful waterfalls. Being that El Tunco, and the El Salvador coast is pretty spread out, and El Tunco is so small, it was an interesting, peaceful drive up the hill away from El Tunco towards the town of Tamanique. Weaving through the jungle and small houses on the side of the road we pulled into the small town of Tamanique, about 30 minutes from El Tunco.
Arriving in El Tunco:
From our El Tunco hostel, Papaya's, the night guard was our tour guide and lead us from the parking spot, with a kid who followed us shooting rocks from his slingshot, along the old farming road, towards the path that led down to the beautiful waterfalls. The water moves its way through the cracks in the rock it has made from millions of years of rolling over the same areas and you can enter under the beautiful waterfalls by a waterslide made by nature. The stream trickles down the rock, and has made it extremely smooth, smooth enough to sit down and slide into the pools under the waterfalls.
We jumped into some of the waterfall pools and clambered our way down the hill to the final beautiful waterfall. A gorgeous day in the jungle of El Salvador, enjoying some beautiful waterfalls, and then back to El Tunco.

Parque Nacional El Imposible, una produccion de la Fundacion Ecologica SALVANATURA
El Imposible es el parque nacional más grande de El Salvador y está ubicado en las elevaciones costeras del pacífico de Ahuachapán, entre los municipios de San Francisco Menéndez y Tacuba, al sur-oeste de la Ruta de las Flores.
Esta área natural protegida es considerada la reliquia natural más importante del país por ser un ecosistema amenazado a nivel mundial (bosque tropical seco y tropical seco premontano), pero también por ser uno de los últimos refugios para una comunidad increíblemente diversa de vida silvestre, fuente de recursos hídricos para la zona y poseedor de belleza escénica para desarrollo turístico sostenible.

Es por esto, que El Imposible recibe más de 8,000 turistas al año quienes visitan estas 4,000 hectáreas de bosque que son protegidas por 25 guarda parques y mostradas por un equipo de 20 guías de turismo locales, para hacer contacto con más de 500 especies de plantas, más de 100 especies de mamíferos, 53 anfibios y reptiles, 285 de aves y más de 5,000 especies de mariposas.
Pero también los turistas buscan la aventura que no encuentran en ningún otro lugar del país. La topografía escarpada de El Imposible se convierte sin duda en una oportunidad para los tours de caminata extrema y para tomar fotografías fenomenales.
Las caminatas se dasrrollan entre las cuestas empinadas y pendientes menores, viendo desde abajo las rocas suspendidas, dejando de lado los precipicios y los ríos, corriendo por franjas planas y cayendo en sorpresivas hondonadas, a una temperatura cálida que devuelve la salud y pone a prueba la actividad física de sus visitantes.

Bienvenidos a un video que tenia algun tiempo de querer hacer ya que nunca habia visitado la pintoresca ciudad de Suchitoto (y volveré )
Mi visita a Suchitoto en el departamento de Cuscatlán, la cual es la ciudad más antigua de El Salvador , superó mis expectativas ! La naturaleza de sus alrededores , el Lago Suchitlán y la cascada Los Tercios son de los puntos más llamativos a visitar.
En la ciudad también hay atractivos para ver y visitar, sus calles empedradas, su plaza central, su iglesia, portales son como un viaje en el tiempo a El Salvador de antaño.
Aunque hubo lugares que no tuve tiempo de visitar les recomiendo a todos si les es posible visitar esta hermosa ciudad y si les es posible pasar un dia completo ahi. En el video verán la ya famosa Casa 1800 con una de las mejores vistas. Mi visita fue en el marco del Festival del Añil pero cualquier fecha es buena para conocer Suchitoto.
