The Reality of Life in Russia 2023 (bureaucratic nightmare)
This is our life in Russia in late 2022 / 2023. Traveling to Russia as a westerner has always been difficult, a bureaucratic nightmare, but this year is the first time Matt and I have really had any issues. We arrived in my hometown of Kemerovo, Siberia, after crossing in to Russia at Kaliningrad and flying to Novosibirsk. Once here and staying with my family, we went to register with the local authorities, but everything turned out to be a little complicated to say the least. This is a week in our lives here staying in Siberia as we hang out with my family and prepare for New years eve (the biggest celebration of the year in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and many other former Soviet countries). Welcome to a very cold, wintery Siberia.

How do people really live in Samara Region, Russia?
There are many defense industry enterprises located in the Samara region. Ammunition, radio navigation equipment, Caliber cruise missiles, engines for Tu-160M missile-carrying aircraft are produced here, and Tu-95MS strategic bombers are modernized.
Samara is called the space capital of Russia.

Severodvinsk: The city where nuclear-powered submarines are built
Today we are going to visit a very non-touristy place, the city of Severodvinsk, which is the center of the nuclear shipbuilding industry in Russia. Severodvinsk is a relatively young city. It was founded only in 1936, after the Soviet government built a shipyard here.
Later, in the early 50’s, the authorities decided that this city on the White Sea is an ideal place for the construction of nuclear submarines.
Severodvinsk developed rapidly, and the city’s population grew because of the arrival of specialists from all over the Soviet Union. To maintain secrecy, Severodvinsk became a closed city.
Moscow region in 4K - Krasnogorsk city
Today I went for a nignht walk in the suburbs. Here we can see the Ferris wheel, Pavshinsky bridge and St. Nicholas Cathedral.
This area of the city is very busy, as there is one of the largest shopping centers of Moscow - Vegas and Crocus City Hall, where exhibitions and concerts are held.
Also at the beginning of the video you can see the original container city filled with coffee shops, cafes and other establishments.
In this segment, I walk through the territory of Moscow, and right in the middle of the bridge the city of Krasnogorsk already begins.

The town was founded in 1137 by the Smolensk prince Rostislav Mstislavitch, hence the name.
Roslavl was chartered under Lithuanian rule in 1408. Under Polish rule Roslavl was part of the Smolensk Voivodeship. In the 1667 truce of Andrusovo the town was ceded from Poland to the Russian Empire……
