Flint has had a really rough go of it over the last 70 years or so, and the toll has come at the cost of the resident's health. Not only have residents had to deal with having high levels of lead in their water... but nearly all of the cities schools have closed too. With high unemployment rates and high poverty rates... Flint might just be the worst city to live in all of the U.S.

Frankenmuth, Michigan Is A Fantastic Holiday, German Themed Town.
Frankenmuth, Michigan is a Bavarian themed tourist town that is really popular to visit during the holiday season. Bronner's Christmas Wonderland is one of the main attractions in Frankenmuth, and it's self claimed to be the largest Christmas store in the world. There are some fantastic restaurants here and places to get a drink, along with plenty of gift shops.

Exploring Southwest New Mexico: Silver City, Gila Cliff Dwellings, & Catwalk Recreation Area!
We have visited New Mexico a few times in the van, so as we were passing through this time, we wanted to explore an area that was brand new to us. We landed on a region in the Southwestern part of the state, near Silver City and the Gila National Forest and Wilderness, which we hadn't heard much about, but it ended up being the BEST surprise!

Warrenton Is One Of Missouri's Fastest Growing Cities
Warrenton, Missouri is about an hour northwest of Downtown St. Louis along I-70. It's also an hour east from Columbia, Missouri. This city along with Warren County has experienced suburban like growth since the 1970's, and today it's one of the fastest growing areas in all of Missouri. Just proves to show you that people are still moving out to the suburbs to seek a better quality of life.

Driving Around Small Town Plainwell, Michigan in 4k Video
Filmed on Monday, July 3 2023, I drive around the village Plainwell, MI to see what's going on.
The area around Plainwell was settled in the 1830s.
The settlement began as a stop on a stagecoach route between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. Later, the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad was constructed on the same route.
Today, Plainwell is a bedroom community for nearby Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
The city is home to a JBS meat processing plant which made national news in April 2020, when the plant reported 86 cases of COVID-19 among the 1,300 workers.
As of the census of 2020, 3,788 people resided in the city.
The racial makeup of the city was 96.0% White, 1.0% Black or African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.6% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.3% of the population.
6.1% of the population were living below the poverty line.

The Vehicle City: Flint, Michigan
Flint, Michigan is truly a fascinating city if you can get past all of the recent negative headlines. General Motors began their company in Flint through a consolidation of several other area manufacturers. In the 80's, General Motors moved most of their Flint area jobs out of Michigan... and that really hurt Flint. Flint has struggled with high crime rates and a poor economy for a long time... but there are positives, such as having three different downtown area colleges, along with a cultural center that features several museums.

An ABANDONED St. Louis Suburban Neighborhood: Carrollton, Bridgeton, Missouri.
Carrollton was a neighborhood in the suburban city of Bridgeton. This neighborhood sits right next to St. Louis Lambert International Airport, and the city of St. Louis bought out this neighborhood in the 1990's due to a noise ambient program as the airport built a new runway that pointed right in the direction of Carrollton. Today, the neighborhood is completely abandoned and it looks more like a national wildlife refuge than a city neighborhood.

An Innocent Small Town Next To A Ghetto City: Swartz Creek, Michigan
Sometimes, Boring is Ok... and that's what Swartz Creek, Michigan is. Boring... but Ok. Swartz Creek is located right outside of the troubled city of Flint, but it doesn't have any of Flint's problems. Flint’s Suburbs Are Seeing Decline Too
Mt. Morris, Michigan is a Flint suburb that has seemed to be trending in the wrong direction for a few decades now. Given how high the poverty rates are and the higher than average crime rate, I wouldn't be surprised if that trend continues for a while, at least for Mt. Morris Charter Township.

Pirates Park is located in Flint, Michigan. It opened in 1991 and has been abandoned for well over a decade. I spent alot of time here when I was a young teenager and a few weeks ago I was home for a visit and decided to explore what is left of the park. Holly Michigan State Park has this awesome playscape for kids of all ages called the Whoa Zone, located on Heron Lake. I shot this video with a DJI Phantom 4 Professional drone.

Striking Fall Colors up Schwartz Creek near Clinton, Montana MT.
We started our 30-mile adventure at the Schwartz Creek fishing access site near Clinton on the Clark Fork River, elevation 3,465. After crossing the river, we turned on Moccasin Ridge Road and started our climb to Holloman Saddle, elevation 5,836. We stopped and explored a few dispersed camping sites along the way. We also found a good spot for lunch at an overlook. From the saddle, we started down another drainage to our starting point.
This was a three-hour, easy ride, the last ride of the season.
Cameras used: GoPro Hero 8 and a Samsung Galaxy cellphone.
