Northern Slovakia features numerous World heritage sites and a Slovakia tour in this part of the world will take you to some of the nicest places in Eastern Europe. The very beautiful nature of the High Tatras, or Vysoke tatry, can be seen in a most beautiful nature walk. Orava Castle and Spiš Castle are among the nicest castles in Eastern Europe and the Wooden Church in Hervatov is an absolutely amazing church to see in Europe. Equally impressive is the medieval town of Bardejov, truly a nice place to see in Eastern Europe and one of the historic sites in Eastern Europe that you need to see.
In today's video, I will take you on an amazing tour of Slovakia through Northern Slovakia for seven of the best Europe travel ideas. We will visit Vlkolínec, a beautiful village in Slovakia surrounded by beautiful scenery in Europe. From there, we will travel to Orava Castle, the location for the very first Dracula movie ever filmed, Nosferatu, and one of my favorite castles in Eastern Europe. From Orava Castle, we will make our way to the High Tatras, the beautiful mountains in Eastern Europe. From there we visit the beautiful wooden church of Hervatov and the impressive Open air museum of Svidnik, visit the town center of Bardejov, and the famous Spiš Castle - some of the nicest places to visit in Europe!

Bardejov Slovakia 4K
Bardejov is a small but exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a fortified medieval town, which typifies the urbanisation in this region. Among other remarkable features, it also contains a small Jewish quarter around a fine 18th-century synagogue.
The town of Bardejov is located in north-eastern Slovakia, on a floodplain terrace of the river Topľa near the Polish border. Due to its proximity to the major trade route that stretches across the Carpathian Mountains, from Hungary into Poland, Bardejov was able to develop into an important medieval town.
The town’s surviving urban plan, with a regular division of streets around a spacious market square, is an indication of European civilization from the 13th to 14th centuries. Burghers’ houses, dating from the first half of the 15th century, surround three sides of the square and document the highly developed burgess culture. The fourth side of the square is closed by the Roman Catholic Church of St. Giles, a three-naved Gothic basilica with a precious collection of eleven late Gothic altars. The Renaissance town hall occupies the centre of the square. The historic core of the town is encircled by the fortification system which was, at the time of its construction, one of the most advanced in Central Europe. The area of the town’s historic core was declared a Town Conservation Reserve in 1950. Bardejov also has a well-preserved small Jewish suburb. This quarter, developed over the 18th century around a synagogue (1725-1747), still contains a unique set of surviving buildings from that era: a kosher slaughter house, some ritual baths, and a meeting building (Beth Hamidrash).
Bardejov provides exceptionally well-preserved evidence of the economic and social structure of trading towns in medieval Central Europe. Its surviving building stock represents a developed burgess culture and Jewish community, thus illustrating a multi-national and multi-cultural society.

Warszawa, PL - Svidnik, SK - Tokaj, H - Satu Mare, RO
We set off on our CovidTravel 2020 journey, leading all the way to Istanbul, Turkey. Today we will leave Poland, drive through Slovakia and Hungary to stay overnight in Satu Mare in northwestern Romania.
On the way, we will visit the observation tower, located just across the border crossing in Barwinek, on the Slovak side, which is a living reminder of Czechoslovak design and decor :)
In our five-point rating scale, we awarded it: 3 bears
We will make the next stop in Svidnik to walk around the open-air museum dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian national minorities living in this part of Slovakia.

And for a lunch and dinner meal we will stop in the famous Hungarian Tokaj. Due to the further driving, without alcohol :)

Po drodze zwiedzimy wieżę widokową, znajdującą się tuż za przejściem granicznym w Barwinku, już po słowackiej stronie, stanowiącą żywą pamiątkę czechosłowackiego design'u i decoru :)

Kolejny przystanek zrobimy w miejscowości Svidnik, aby przejść się po skansenie poświęconym rosyjsko-ukraińskim mniejszościom narodowym zamieszkującym w tej części Słowacji.
W naszej pięciostopniowej skali ocen przyznaliśmy mu : 4 niedźwiedzie
A na obiadowo-kolacyjny posiłek zatrzymamy się w słynnym węgierskim Tokaju. Z racji dalszej trasy, bezalkoholowo :)

Muzeum Historii Wojska. Vojenské historické múzeum - park bojovej techniky. Svidnik. Słowacja. Slovensko.
Plenerowe Muzeum Wojskowe zajmuje tereny przy głównym budynku Muzeum w Svidníku, a także wzdłuż Drogi Bohaterów prowadzącej w kierunku Dukli.
W muzeum plenerowym znajduje się 55 eksponatów ciężkiego sprzętu bojowego używanego w czasie II wojny światowej. Najbardziej wartościowe eksponaty to: samolot Lisunov Li-2 C-47 Dakota, radziecki samolot bojowy Il-10 Szturmownik, czołgi T-34, radzieckie i niemieckie moździerze i inne.
Oddzielną część ekspozycji stanowi „Dolina Śmierci”, gdzie można zobaczyć zrekonstruowane oddziały czołgów w ataku, rozmieszczenie czechosłowackich stanowisk ogniowych i bunkier sztabu 3. Czechosłowackiej Brygady w Komárniku.

Bardejów(słow. Bardejov; hist. Bardiów) to – miasto powiatowe w północno-wschodniej Słowacji.
W 2000 r. bardejowskie Stare Miasto wraz z tzw. suburbium żydowskim zostało wpisane na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO jako czwarty zespół architektoniczny na Słowacji.
O mieście mówi się, że jest najbardziej gotyckim miastem na Słowacji. Jego centrum stanowi historyczny kompleks zabytkowych kamieniczek mieszczańskich, które stanowią rynek. Jest też ratusz i bazylika. Na rynku stoi dawny ratusz z początku XVI wieku. Najbardziej dostojnym zabytkiem miasta jest usytuowana w rynku rzymskokatolicka bazylika pw. Św. Egidiusza. Pochodzi z początku XV wieku. Z biegiem wieków przekształcona została we wspaniałą gotycką świątynię o trzech nawach.
Spacerując po rynku ma się wrażenie , że jest się w bajce.

Pomnik Armii Radzieckiej. Pamätník sovietskej armády vo Svidníku. Słowacja. Slovensko.
Pomnik Armii Radzieckie w Svidníku (narodowy zabytek kultury) odsłonięto w roku 1954. Pomnik ma 37 metrów wysokości, a gwiazda na jego szczycie mierzy 3,5 m. Po prawej stronie pomnika znajduje się relief Zwiad Partyzancki w Słowackim Powstaniu Narodowym, po lewej Atak Armii Radzieckiej. Przed pomnikiem stoi czterometrowa rzeźba z brązu „Radziecki żołnierz salutuje nad mogiłą poległych”.
Do architektonicznego kompleksu pomnika należą dwie rzeźby: „Spotkanie” autorstwa Hana oraz dzieło Gibala „Śmiałe spojrzenie w przyszłość”. Piedestał pomnika zdobią reliefy: „Podniesienie flagi na znak zwycięstwa, 9. maj 1945”, „Lud wita swoich wybawców,” „Powitanie partyzantów z Armią Czerwoną” oraz „Wieś wita radzieckich żołnierzy.” W tle pomnika znajdują się symboliczne nagrobki poległych żołnierzy radzieckiej piechoty, czołgistów, strzelców i lotników. We wspólnych grobach zostało tu pochowanych ponad 9000 żołnierzy radzieckich.
