По мере промышленного освоения нефтяных месторождений Среднего Приобья и увеличения численности населения города проблема строительства культурных учреждений становилась все более насущной. Активная позиция руководства города способствовала строительству новых учреждений культуры и повышению уровня их материального обеспечения. Это достигалось за счет привлечения различных финансовых источников и производственных возможностей.
В декабре 1969 года на базе треста «Сургутгазстрой» был открыт Дом культуры «Строитель», ставший воплощением многочисленных пожеланий молодых строителей Сургута и настойчивой организаторской работы начальника СУ-22 этого предприятия В.П. Пересыпкина.
В здании Дома культуры разместились зрительный зал на 320 мест, большой оборудованный спортзал, библиотека с читальным залом, несколько просторных комнат для кружковой работы и занятий спортсекций. На внутреннюю облицовку были выделены материалы из мастерской Московского управления, занимавшегося отделочными работами в Кремле. В конце 1960-х годов ДК «Строитель» стал одним из основных мест проведения городских торжеств, начала формироваться концертная деятельность, был организован небольшой вокально-инструментальный ансамбль. За первые два года существования Дома культуры были приобретены концертный рояль, инструменты для двух струнных и одного эстрадного оркестров, два пианино, 13 баянов, около 2000 наименований литературы.
В 1992 г. ДК «Строитель» перешел в муниципальную собственность и стал именоваться городским культурно-досуговым центром. В 1995 году в ГКДЦ «Строитель» завершилась реконструкция и расширение площадей.
Городской культурный центр – место, которое аккумулирует в себе общение и культуру людей разных возрастов, национальностей, вероисповедания и интересов.

The Reality of Life in Russia 2023 (bureaucratic nightmare)
This is our life in Russia in late 2022 / 2023. Traveling to Russia as a westerner has always been difficult, a bureaucratic nightmare, but this year is the first time Matt and I have really had any issues. We arrived in my hometown of Kemerovo, Siberia, after crossing in to Russia at Kaliningrad and flying to Novosibirsk. Once here and staying with my family, we went to register with the local authorities, but everything turned out to be a little complicated to say the least. This is a week in our lives here staying in Siberia as we hang out with my family and prepare for New years eve (the biggest celebration of the year in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and many other former Soviet countries). Welcome to a very cold, wintery Siberia.

Novosibirsk was founded in 1893 on the Ob River crossing point of the future Trans-Siberian Railway, where the Novosibirsk Rail Bridge was constructed. Originally named Novonikolayevsk, the city grew rapidly into a major transport, commercial, and industrial hub. The city was ravaged by the Russian Civil War but recovered during the early Soviet period, and gained its present name in 1926. Under the leadership of Joseph Stalin, Novosibirsk became one of the largest industrial centers of Siberia. Following the outbreak of World War II, the city hosted many factories relocated from European Russia.
Novosibirsk is home to the headquarters of numerous Russian corporations, the neo-Byzantine Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as the world-renowned Novosibirsk Zoo. It is served by Tolmachevo Airport, the busiest airport in Siberia
