Since the construction of an interchange near Sukheke Mandi, Hafizabad is now just 5 kilometres away from the M2 motorway.
Climate

Traveling on M2 Motorway China new silk road

Traveling on M2 Motorway from Islamabad to Punjab's provincial capital Lahore but my travel till river Jhelum. M2 is entirely situated in Punjab Province of Pakistan. It connects Rawalpindi, Islamabad to Lahore. Motorway passes through Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mandi Bahaudin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Shekhupura, and Lahore. Motorway passes over many Rivers but famous are River Ravi, River Chenab, River Jhelum, River Dhurab, and River Sawan, Geographically North Punjab to Central Punjab.
It passes through Salt Mountain Ranges. Salt Ranges are system of hills with full of Salt and Coil.
One of the most expensive motorways in Asia, it has the highest pillared-bridge in Asia at the Khewra Salt Range. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has used the M2 motorway as a runway on three occasions: for the first time in 2000 when it landed an F-7P fighter, a Super Mushak trainer and a C-130 and, again, in 2010. On the last occasion, the PAF used a runway section on the M2 motorway on 2 April 2010 to land, refuel and take-off two jet fighters, a Mirage III and an F-7P, during its Highmark 2010 exercise, the PAF used runway section again in 2017 to practice in the hour of emergency.
The whole motorway after a long period of 15 years renovated and recarpeted by Frontier Works Organization. New tolls plazas are installed on every interchange with the new and latest e-tag system. The formal Miles board are changed to digital boards at a lots of places.
There are ten service and rest areas on both sides of the whole motorway, having facilities of Insta fueling, Insta Carwash, Insta car repair and restaurants of food and coffee like KFC, McDonald's, Gloria Jeans coffee and others
The M-2 was conceived by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his first term(1990–1993) and later inaugurated on November 26, 1997, during his second term. In late 2006, upgrades were made to the portion of the M-2 passing through the Salt Ranges due to increasing complaints of drivers. The upgrades included better marking of the road lines and increased the size of road signs for easy visibility. In 2016 M2 got completely new carpeting for a smooth and safer drive.
The whole stretch of the M-2 consists of 6 lanes, and there are a number of rest areas along the route, with washroom and eating facilities.

Pindi Bhattian (Urdu: پِنڈى بهٹياں) is a city and the administration headquarters of Pindi Bhattian Tehsil, Hafizabad District in Punjab, Pakistan.
Commercially Pindi Bhattian lies in the heart of Punjab and North Pakistan. Pindi Bhattian is also on the track for a fast connection through M2 to major cities like Lahore, Sheikhupura, Islamabad, and Peshawar. Through M3, Pindi Bhattian is connected with Faisalabad, Multan and connecting to major cities of Baluchistan and Sindh like Karachi. E3, (Expressway) is being upgraded to connect Sialkot via Wazirabad, whereas Pindi Bhattian is also connected to Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and Daska. On the western side it is connected to a major city like Jhang, Sargodha, and Mianwali. Mianwali being the main city of the Western CPEC route would be another commercial hub that will connect KPK and Punjab. The prominent villages in surrounding Pindi Bhattian are Ghubrika, Macho Nikka (Officers Valley), Mustafabad, Kot Nakka, Shah Behlol, Kaseesay, Nauthen, Khuram Chorera, Thatha Khero Matmal, Bahuman (Crescent Bahümán Limited), Thathi Behlol Pur, Tahli Goraya, Dhalkey, Sabat Shah, Par Ghusroo, Chokerian (village of Kharal families). Castes of Pindi Bhattian are Bhatti, Kharal, Arrain, Sial and Tarar.

Pindi Bhattian (Urdu: پِنڈى بهٹياں) is a city and the administration headquarters of Pindi Bhattian Tehsil, Hafizabad District in Punjab, Pakistan.
Commercially Pindi Bhattian lies in the heart of Punjab and North Pakistan. Pindi Bhattian is also on the track for a fast connection through M2 to major cities like Lahore, Sheikhupura, Islamabad, and Peshawar. Through M3, Pindi Bhattian is connected with Faisalabad, Multan and connecting to major cities of Baluchistan and Sindh like Karachi. E3, (Expressway) is being upgraded to connect Sialkot via Wazirabad, whereas Pindi Bhattian is also connected to Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and Daska. On the western side it is connected to a major city like Jhang, Sargodha, and Mianwali. Mianwali being the main city of the Western CPEC route would be another commercial hub that will connect KPK and Punjab.
