The beach itself may be the first thing that attracts visitors to the area, and it’s almost a small town in and of itself. No trip is complete without seeing its luscious sands or stopping by its shops or water park.
A visit to the famed Daytona International Speedway is arguably one of the best things to do in Daytona Beach and almost as famous as the beach itself. You can watch a race here or learn about the sport at the Motorsports Museum. If you want to drive on your own, go to Go-Kart City.
If you want an even bigger thrill, try dropping at the restaurant at Skydive DeLand, going on a zipline, or being shot out of the world’s second-largest slingshot.
These high-speed activities aren’t the only way to keep active in Daytona Beach. Try one of its many golfing destinations, including mini-golf courses like Pirate’s Island Adventure Golf and professional courses like LPGA International.
Daytona Beach is also a historic area full of preserved historic buildings such as the Stetson Mansion and Mary McLeod Butane House. Many are considered haunted, especially the Lillian Heritage Center.
The best things to do in Daytona Beach Florida for history and art buffs include visiting any of its educational museums. See a range of exhibits at the MOAS or Museum of Arts and Sciences or go to the Halifax History Museum that focuses on local history.
There are plenty of delicious places to eat in Daytona Beach thanks to the nearby fresh seafood supply. Try some of the best at Crabby Joe’s or Aunt Catfish On the River. Stop by Daytona Diner for a classic meal or go into the Sessions restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel for a more upbeat, stylish atmosphere.

Visiting the Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins Historic State Park in Homosassa, Florida | Unique FL State Park
In today's video, we head to another Florida State Park, located in Homosassa, FL. This is a unique state park. It is not your typical Florida State Park. This park is the remains of an old sugar mill. It is called Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins State Park. It is actually pretty unique to see because it is very old. It is more like a Florida landmark than a state park but still a historic place. It is crazy to think that the plantation was on 5,100 acres. What is cool is Homosassa Springs State Park is just down the road so you can easily see two parks in one day. Even though this isn't a typical hike or bike state park, it still is worth going by and taking a look!

When you travel and pay to stay at a Large Hotel chain you expect it to be clean right? Well unfortunately that isn't the case these days and that was definitely true for our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Odessa, TX while we were traveling back from San Diego, CA after going through Hospice with my Dad. After driving all day beginning at 7 am we finally found a room in Odessa and unfortunately it was not what we expected! I'll let the video review do the talking but we can say do not stay here if you are looking for a clean Hotel and a good nights rest. You will end up being aggravated and if the Manager didn't fix it for us chances are they won't fix it for you.

Hello Explorers! In this video we explore Bulow Creek State Park in Ormond Beach, FL. This massive 5600 acre preserve contains one of the largest live oak trees in the south, the Fairchild oak. This tree is over 400 years old and has withstood many tests of time, elements and mankind itself. There are multiple trails leading around the area, including a 6.8-mile trail that runs from the oak to Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park. This entrance leads to an old Sugar Mill Plantation where you can see ruins and artifacts peppered around the trails. Come along as we look around!

DUNLAWTON SUGAR MILL GARDENS - BONGOLAND - DAYTONA BEACH

The Dunlawton Plantation and Sugar Mill, a 19th-century cane sugar plantation in north-central Florida, was destroyed by the Seminoles at the beginning of the Second Seminole War. The ruins are located at 950 Old Sugar Mill Road, Port Orange, Florida. On August 28, 1973, the site was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places under the title of Dunlawton Plantation-Sugar Mill Ruins.
The ruins are now part of the Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens. The botanical gardens include interpretive signs about the enclosed ruins, large concrete sculptures of dinosaurs and a giant ground sloth, a gazebo, and plantings of grasses, flowers, bushes and native plants under a canopy of oak trees. You can see some dinosaur left over from what was once Bongoland.
