Winter Saint Petersburg Russia 6K. Shot on Zenmuse X7 Drone

For licensing and collabs:
Our magic LUTs and presets for color grading:

In mid-January, Peter finally fell asleep with snow, and we were able to show the most beautiful Northern city in the world, wrapped in snow, from the air, in ultra-high resolution 6K. For filming, we used a new Ambassador camera Zenmuse X7 together with a new line of lenses DL, which a month ago we sent DJI for our further creativity. Since youtube does not support 6K resolution, we have increased the image to 8K, in order to unlock the full potential of the image.

Константиновский дворец в Стрельне/Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna

The palace complex in Strelna outside Russia's St. Petersburg dates back to the 18th century. In 1797, Russian Emperor Paul I granted the palace to his second son Konstantin after whom the place was named. The palace belonged to the Russian Imperial Romanov family until 1917. Now, the palace belongs to the Directorate of the Russian President and is part of the National Congress Palace complex. The place regularly hosts international events involving the Russian president. In particular, a G8 summit took place here in 2006 and a G20 summit was held in 2013.

Kuskovo was the summer country house and estate of the Sheremetev family. Built in the mid-18th century, it was originally situated several miles to the east of Moscow but now is part of the East District of the city. It was one of the first great summer country estates of the Russian nobility, and one of the few near Moscow still preserved. Today the estate is the home of the Russian State Museum of Ceramics, and the park is a favourite place of recreation for Muscovites.

Gatchina, Russia, view from above.

In this video you will see aerial video of us flying over an extravagant Gatchina gardens and Palace. This popular historic tourist attraction is located just outside of St Petersburg. Gatchina Palace was designed by the architect Antonio Renalde and was build 1766-1781 by the order of Katherine II for her favourite Count Grigoriy Orlov. Later this palace became imperial residence of Paul I, Nikolai I, Alexandr II, and Alexandr III. With every owner the palace was somehow altered, whether the architecture or the interior design to keep up with the European stile at that time. During the WWII most of the valuable artefacts were evacuated and hidden. After the nazi occupancy was over the palace was in a very bad shape with most of the palace ruined by fire. After extensive restoration the palace opened its doors to the public as a museum.

【4K】Castle in Catherine the Great | Walking in the park

Tsaritsyno museum and reserve in Moscow was founded in 1984 in the park of the same name.

History:
The estate is known from the late 16th century, when it belonged to Tsarina Irina, sister of Tsar Boris Godunov. At that time it was called Bogorodskoye. In the 17th century it belonged to the Streshnevs and then to the Galitzines.

In 1775, the estate was bought by empress Catherine the Great, who happened to be passing through the area and fell in love with the picturesque beauty of the land. It received its present name, which means “Tsarina’s”.

In 1776-85 architect Vasili Bazhenov built a palace for the Empress there. When the palace was almost complete, the Empress visited Tsaritsyno to inspect it. She declared the rooms to be too cramped and dark, and the palace unlivable. As a result, Catherine ordered the palace to be torn down, and the architect was fired. The remnants of the foundation of Bazhenov's original palace are still visible in the park.

In 1786, Matvey Kazakov presented new architectural plans, which were approved by Catherine. Kazakov supervised the construction project until 1796 when the construction was interrupted by Catherine's dеath. Her successor, Emperor Paul I of Russia showed no interest in the palace and the massive structure remained unfinished and abandoned for more than 200 years, until it was completed and extensively reworked in 2005-07.

Currently, in Tsaritsyno there are a history and architecture museum, a landscape park with an adjacent forest, an art museum, the Biryulyovo dendropark, and a cascade of the Tsaritsyno ponds.

Park:
The 18th-century architecture ensemble was built (though not finished) following the order of Catherine II in Neo-Gothic style, after projects of the Bazhenov and Kazakov, and it is the only 18th-century architectural ensemble of such dimensions in Russia.

Around the palace, in the park there are a number of pavilions, pergolas, arbours, artificial grottos, decorative bridges (early 19th century, architect I. Yegotov), and a Russian Orthodox temple “Source of Life”, as well as a modern recreation center with an upscale restaurant. For a long time most buildings were ruined (and used for rock climbing). In 2005—2007 most buildings were extensively restored and completed: roofs, interiors and decorations have been added and their historical appearance has been altered. A number of buildings house the Russian museum of folk and applied art. The atrium of the “Bread House” is used for concerts of Moscow musicians.

The park grounds contain the group of burial mounds that belong to the Early Slavs tribe Vyatichs dated to the 11th-13th century.

The Peterhof Palace (3) 俄罗斯圣彼得堡夏宫系列(3)

The Grand Palace at Peterhof was designed to be the centerpiece of Peter the Great's Russian Versaille. Around 1720, the Tsar gave up on attempts to establish his court at Strelna, mainly because the boggy ground proved entirely unsuitable for the canals and fountains that he envisioned. Moving his attentions further west to Peterhof, the Tsar began to draw up his own plans for the grounds and palace. Work had already begun on a modest palace, designed by Jean-Baptiste Le Blond, in 1714, and that building was completed in 1721.

Peterhof (German Peterhof, Peter's yard) is a palace and park ensemble on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. It is located on the territory of the municipality of the city of Peterhof (from 1944 to 1997 - Petrodvorets) in the Petrodvortsovy district of St. Petersburg. The name of the Peterhof road comes from it. Part of it is under the jurisdiction of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve.

Peterhof includes several palace and park ensembles that were formed over two centuries. The Lower Park, the Upper Garden and the English Park are ensembles that developed in the 18th century. Alexandria, Colonistsky Park, Lugovoy Park, Alexandrinsky Park, Sergievka, Private dacha - 19th century ensembles.
For the first time, Peterhof was mentioned in 1705 as a traveling yard and a pier for moving to Kotlin Island. It was one of the many manors (passing lights) built along the road from St. Petersburg along the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. In 1712, the construction of a suburban imperial residence for Peter I began. In 1714, the Grand Palace was laid.

In 1715, Emperor Peter I decided to create a ceremonial imperial residence that could surpass the famous Versailles. For these purposes, construction began in Strelna. However, for the round-the-clock functioning of the fountains, it was necessary to raise the water to a mark of about 10 meters above sea level, and this would lead to the flooding of the basins of the Strelka and Kikenki rivers, since the surrounding area (south of the Peterhof road) with an area of tens of square kilometers is below this mark. Hydraulic structures capable of solving the problem would have cost Peter the Great too much, but was it worth it when to the west of Strelna there was a landscape ideally created by nature for round-the-clock water supply? The talented engineer and hydraulic engineer B. Minich was able to go against the tsar's will, by engineering calculations to prove the impossibility of arranging water extravaganzas in Strelna and to transfer the construction to Peterhof.
Peterhof, as a palace and park ensemble, was formed during the 18th - early 20th centuries.
Peterhof, together with a number of other monuments of St. Petersburg, forms a single complex UNESCO World Heritage Site.
4 and a half million people visit the Peterhof GMZ annually

Peterhof (Petrodvorets)

One of St. Petersburg's most famous and popular visitor attractions, the palace and park at Peterhof (also known as Petrodvorets) are often referred to as the Russian Versailles, although many visitors conclude that the comparison does a disservice to the grandeur and scope of this majestic estate.

Versailles was, however, the inspiration for Peter the Great's desire to build an imperial palace in the suburbs of his new city and, after an aborted attempt at Strelna, Peterhof - which means Peter's Court in German - became the site for the Tsar's Monplaisir Palace, and then of the original Grand Palace. The estate was equally popular with Peter's daughter, Empress Elizabeth, who ordered the expansion of the Grand Palace and greatly extended the park and the famous system of fountains, including the truly spectacular Grand Cascade.
Improvements to the park continued throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Catherine the Great, after leaving her own mark on the park, moved the court to Pushkin, but Peterhof once again became the official Imperial Residence in the reign of Nicholas I, who ordered the building of the modest Cottage Palace in 1826.
Like almost all St. Petersburg's suburban estates, Peterhof was ravaged by German troops during the Second World War. It was, however, one of the first to be resurrected and, thanks to the work of military engineers as well as over 1,000 volunteers, the Lower Park opened to the public in 1945 and the facades of the Grand Palace were restored in 1952. The name was also de-Germanicized in 1944, becoming Petrodvorets, the name under which the surrounding town is still known. The palace and park are once again known as Peterhof.

Traveling with Viking Homelands - Peterhof Palace, Russia

Traveling with Viking Homelands Ocean Cruise, May 26 - June 9, 2018. From Bergen to Stockholm.

We arrived to St. Petersburg, Russia ( earlier morning on June 5th and stayed there for two days.

We had 10 hours of excursions on June 5th and 6 hr of excursions on June 6th.

Russia was the only country where we needed to go through the passport control and security every time when we were going from the ship to the city or coming back to the ship. We visited 6 counties before Russia and in every one of them were free to go from/to the ship without being checked individually by local authorities. When we went for the first excursion in St. Pete, I was nervous. The window with a man behind it was high, I could see only his head and part of the face. When I gave him my passport, he looked at me at told me to step back and looked at me again. He asked me if I understand Russian. Like at the time of my life in the Soviet Union I felt myself belittled again...
