Recently, @nomadcapitalist published a video on the safest cities in Mexico. While some of the cities that he mentioned deserve to be on the list, there are others that I completely disagree with.

Crossing the US/Mexico border on foot - day trip to TIJUANA
Tijuana, Mexico is the most visited border city in the world, and in this video, you'll follow our journey crossing the US/Mexico border on foot twice (going to Tijuana in the morning and returning to San Diego, USA in the afternoon). We went through the San Ysidro port of entry, which is the busiest in the western hemisphere. You'll also see how we spent the day in Tijuana walking across Zona Centro (the historical downtown) and eating delicious Mexican food.

Crossing the border from San Diego to Tijuana Mexico at the San Ysidro and then back to the USA can take a very long time. This was my first trip in a very long time and unless you have a sentri pass, enhanced driver's license, or global entry be prepared to wait in a very long line.
Check the wait time but take it with a grain of salt:

JoLo World Vlog week 17 18 19: Mexico north (Sonoyta, Sinaloa - Mazatlán)
When we crossed the border from the USA to Mexico, those first two days driving through the dangerous north of Mexico were tense. We drove through chaotic and poor areas, military posts, deserted highways with just one suspicious car close to us, and a barricade we had to get through, in the middle of the highway. The barricade was by the people of a village and they wouldn’t let through any truck, just personal vehicles, but only if you payed them something. Several toll ports were also occupied by villagers, blocking them until you’d pay to them instead of the official toll agency (that wasn’t there, of course).

Sonoyta Mexico to Lukeville USA | Easy Border Crossing
Driving from Sonoyta, Mexico in the USA via the Lukeville Border Crossing. This border has plenty of space for RV's and cars. It's very simple and easy to navigate. I took a trip to Rocky Point and this is the return drive to demonstrate the border process.
They did pull me into secondary for a quick inspection. The US customs agent was very professional and my wait time was minimal. Great experience at this border crossing after a fun trip to Mexico.

Take a drive across the Lukeville Border Crossing into Mexico. I stop at the Aduana located immediately to the right at the border crossing to get an FMM for my stay. Then I drive through Sonoyta and continue to Puerto Penasco aka Rocky Point.

The drive ends as I reach the Malecon. I ended up staying at an RV park nearby and had great beach access and was walking distance to several restaurants and bars. I had a great stay despite arriving on a cooler weekend with windy conditions.

When’s the Best Time to Visit Rocky Point Mexico from Arizona?
Rocky Point is open year-round, although the best time to visit is during the winter months (November through March). The weather is cooler in the winter and more comfortable than summer months, which can be extremely hot. Also, since tourism slows down in the winter months, it’s easier to find affordable deals on hotels and flights.
The best time to visit Rocky Point is during the winter months. This is when the weather is most temperate. The days are warm, but not too hot; the nights are cool and comfortable. The summer months can be very hot and humid, so it’s best to avoid them if possible. It’s also important to note that Rocky Point is at an elevation of 1,000 feet above sea level, so the temperature difference between Phoenix and Rocky Point can be significant.
Arizona residents can fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), which is located only 25 minutes away from Rocky Point. From SJD you can catch a taxi or rent a car to drive to your hotel or condo rental in Rocky Point.
Spring and Fall: The weather is usually mild during these seasons, which makes them ideal for sightseeing. Plus, it’s easier to get around since there aren’t too many tourists around yet.
Summer: If you plan on visiting Rocky Point in summer, expect it to be hot! The average temperature is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29ºC), but it can go up to more than 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43ºC) during this time of year. There are also fewer tourists around during summer months because many people prefer not to travel during this time of year due to high temperatures and humidity levels in Mexico.

Crossing the Sonoyta Wash to Rocky Point
- What to expect when crossing the Sonoyta Wash when traveling to or from Rocky Point Mexico via the Lukeville/Sonoyta Border when there are heavy rains. The City of Sonoyta is replacing the main bridge across the Sonoyta wash. The detour in this video is the only other route across the wash at the Lukeville Border.

The town of Sonoyta Mexico is replacing the bridge across the Sonoyta Wash. Traffic to Rocky Point, Mexico is being detoured around the bridge into the Sonoyta Wash. On a normally dry day this would not be an issue. But as seen in the video above, during monsoon rains dry washes turn into ragging rivers making crossing all but impossible. The new bridge should be finished soon, making this detour a thing of the past and your travel to RP an enjoyable one. Thanks to a friend of mine for this video.

Here we are crossing the border at Lukeville, Arizona, into Sonoyta, Mexico. You will see how easy it really is everyone.
