GHENT, BELGIUM | 7 BEST Things To Do In Ghent
The city of Ghent is located in the northwest of Belgium, at the confluence of two rivers. During the Middle Ages, Ghent was a wealthy and prominent city-state mainly due to the manufacturing of cloth made from English wool. Today, it’s a university town and cultural hub full of amazing architecture, such as the 12th-century Gravensteen castle. From towering churches to detailed statues and peaceful canals, there are hundreds of charming views to take in here. In this video, we’ll break down the 7 best things to do in Ghent.

Try waffles, french fries, and Belgian Beer (Delirium Tremens is the local one), “Gentse Neusjes” and a “Julientje”.

4. Visit the Castle of the Counts (Gravensteen Castle)
The castle is a museum and a major landmark in the city. We highly recommend doing the audio-tour that is both funny and interesting.

Located directly across from each other on opposite sides of the river, these two quays are part of the medieval port that hosted ships since the 11th century.

The Largest Market Square Belgium: Grote Markt Sint Niklaas (Belgium) 4K
I recorded this 4k ultra hd video during a trip in Sint Niklaas in march 2021.
Sint Niklaas is located roughly 20 minutes train ride from Antwerpen.
Sint Niklaas has the largest Market Square (Grote Markt) in Belgium.
I went their on Sunday early morning during covid-times. This is the reason why the square and the streets are almost completely empty. Which is a very rare view.
The guided tour starts at the Station on goes along the main shopping street directly to the Grote Markt.
Followed by a visit of the Castle Walburg and a tour in the city center (about 2.5km long tour).

Every Thursday on the biggest main Square of Belgium's. Measuring 3.19 hectares (7.88 acres), the square exceeds all other Belgian market places. The market starts at 7 am and closes at 1 pm. You can easily make a day trip by train or bus to this place. Station Sint-Niklaas Belgium. I bought olives, bread and a nice tablecloth

Flanders also makes this possible with public transport at € 1.6 1 hour trip, so you also have dozens of full buses and even the bus to the Netherlands The Line ( De lijn ) at this rate. Enjoy the atmosphere ! In Zeeland NL, people like us who are public transport users cannot travel with the bus, they charge exaggerated fares up to 8x more expensive at certain locations than with The Line. In the province of North Brabant The Netherlands and also in Amsterdam you have day passes for less than € 10 it's much cheaper there. You can visit Hulst by bus The Line ;) it is 15 km from Sint Niklaas.

The main Church of Saint Nicholas was founded in the 13th century and gave its name to the city. After heavy damage in the 16th century, the interior was redone in the Baroque style.

SINT-NIKLAAS : de Euromarkt
Dit weekend was het Euromarkt in Sint-Niklaas gedurende 3 dagen. Het evenement vond plaats op de Grote Markt daar, en bracht veel bezoekers op de been. De weergoden waren hen goedgezind, dus kon dit schitterend weekend niet meer stuk .Zaterdag zijn we eens een kijkje gaan nemen, en het was de moeite waard.
De Euromarkt was één van dé topevenementen van de Sint-Niklase zomer. Al voor de vijfde keer zakten marktkramers en ambachtelijke producenten uit heel Europa af naar Sint-Niklaas voor deze ongeëvenaarde en onvergetelijke marktbeleving. De voorbije edities bracht de Euromarkt telkens vele tienduizenden bezoekers naar het Sint-Niklase stadscentrum. En dat was deze keer niet anders . Het programma was dan ook veelbelovend en bijzonder smakelijk!

This weekend was Euromarkt in Sint-Niklaas for 3 days. The event took place on the Grote Markt there, and attracted many visitors. The weather gods were in their favor, so this wonderful weekend could not go wrong. On Saturday we went to have a look, and it was worth it.
The Euromarkt was one of the top events of the Sint-Niklaas summer. For the fifth time already, market vendors and artisan producers from all over Europe came to Sint-Niklaas for this unparalleled and unforgettable market experience. In previous editions, the Euromarkt brought tens of thousands of visitors to the city center of Sint-Niklaas. And this time was no different. The program was very promising and particularly tasty!
