About chilika lake :-
Chilika Lake is the largest internal saltwater lake in Asia, it is a paradise on earth for bird watchers and nature lovers. The pear shaped lake is dotted with a few small islands and has fisheries and salt pans around its shore.
At a distance of 44 km from Puri, Chilika Lake is Asia's biggest inland saltwater lagoon situated near Satapada in Odisha. Located at the mouth of the Daya River, Chilika Lake is the largest coastal lagoon in India and also the second largest saltwater lagoon in the world after the New Caledonian barrier reef in New Caledonia.
The lake is studded with small islands including the most charming Honeymoon Island and the Breakfast Island. Spreads across 1,100 sq. km, the pear-shaped lake extends from Bhusandpur in Puri district in the North to Rambha-Malud in Ganjam district in the South, separated from the Bay of Bengal by a 60 km long narrow strip of marshy islands and sand flats. The lake is an ecosystem with large fishery resources. It sustains more than 150,000 fisher folk living in 132 villages on the shore and Islands. In 1981, Chilika Lake was designated the first Indian wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention.
The lake also acts as one of the most supportive ecosystems in the name of Chilika Lake Sanctuary. It is the largest wintering ground for migratory birds on the Indian sub continent. Birds from the Caspian Sea, Lake Baikal, Aral Sea and other remote parts of Russia, Kirghiz steppes of Mongolia, Central and Southeast Asia, Ladakh and Himalayas come here. White bellied sea eagles, Graylag Geese, Purple Moorhen, Jacana, Herons and Flamingos are among the many species which make the lake a bird watcher's delight. Chilika in fact, is home to one of the world's largest breeding colonies of Flamingos.
Being richly famous for the presence of aquatic wildlife, Chilika Lake sanctuary also houses Irrawaddy dolphins which are different from the other dolphins as their color and dorsal fin being less prominent. Apart from the avifaunal species, the region also highlights varied wild animals such as Blackbuck, Golden Jackals, Spotted Deer and Hyenas. Chilika Lake Sanctuary is favorably known for its dynamic sunrise and sunset views. One of the most famous tourist attractions near Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary is Kalijai Temple, devoted to Goddess Kalijai. Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great pomp and cheer at the temple that attracts numerous travelers & devotees.
Chilika Lake is the most popular destination for eco-tourism in Orissa. Apart from having the presence of exotic wildlife in the area, the lake and its vicinity hold a rich floral system with an abundance of aquatic as well as non aquatic plants. The recent environmental survey revealed the presence of more than 710 species of plants in and around Chilika Lake. Such a huge variety of Flora and Fauna including numerous rare and endangered species of all forms has been the main reason for considering Chilika Lake as Ramsar site.
Boating at Chilika is one of the most popular activities. Chilika Lake can be visited year round however the time from November to February is the best time to visit Chilika Lake. Especially, it is the season for migratory birds and hence it is even more exciting to explore this lake during these months.
चिलिका झील 70 किलोमीटर लम्बी तथा 30 किलोमीटर चौड़ी है। यह समुद्र का ही एक भाग है जो महानदी द्वारा लायी गई मिट्टी के जमा हो जाने से समुद्र से अलग होकर एक छीछली झील के रूप में हो गया है। दिसम्बर से जून तक इस झील का जल खारा रहता है किन्तु वर्षा ऋतु में इसका जल मीठा हो जाता है। इसकी औसत गहराई 3 मीटर है। इस झील के पारिस्थितिक तंत्र में बेहद जैव विविधताएँ हैं। यह एक विशाल मछली पकड़ने की जगह है। यह झील 132 गाँवों में रह रहे 150,000 मछुआरों को आजीविका का साधन उपलब्ध कराती है।

Through the territory of Soviet Russia and the land of the Tatars, across the Steppes and on to China and Japan, the Trans-Siberian express takes twelve days to complete its journey. Russia's Trans-Siberian Railway is the longest continuous rail line on Earth, that runs in an epic journey of almost six thousand miles over one third of the globe.

Hey guys, welcome to episode three of today. We are looking at the M163 VADS in this video otherwise known as the Vulcan. The VADS first entered production in 1968 in response to aircraft and infantry in Vietnam. It was used until 1994 with the United States military and it’s still in service with NATO. The Israelis retired it in 2006 that variant is known as the Machbat. This vehicle featured the M61 Vulcan rotary gatling gun with a rate of fire of 6,000 rpm.

Site of Number One gun of the Australian 14th Heavy | 4K [2021]
The plaque was dedicated at the site of the 14th and 2nd Anti-Aircraft Batteries guns which fired on the Japanese when they attacked Darwin on the 19th February 1942. The plaque was erected by the people of Darwin and dedicated on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin in 1942.

The guns of the Australian 14th and 2nd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Batteries were the first army units to engage enemy forces attacking the Australian mainland when on 19th February 1942, 242 Japanese aircraft bombed and strafed Darwin township and its defences in two raids.
The Japanese attacked Darwin
and the Top End on 64 occasions
from 19th February 1942 to
12th November 1943.

The 14 Heavy Anti aircraft Battery was formed on 30 October 1940 in Sydney. 2 Anti aircraft Cadre was absorbed by 14 Anti aircraft Battery in September 1941. The Unit travelled to Darwin on the Zealandia in December 1940. They established the gun sites at Berrimah; McMillan's and Quarantine. This Unit was the first to fire on Japanese aircraft on Australian soil. They had two 20 hundredweight heavy anti aircraft guns at Elliot Point; four 3.7 inch guns at the Oval and another four at McMillan's and Fannie Bay.
The Bombing of Darwin, also known as the Battle of Darwin, on 19 February 1942 was the largest single attack ever mounted by a foreign power on Australia. On that day, 242 Japanese aircraft, in two separate raids, attacked the town, ships in Darwin's harbour and the town's two airfields in an attempt to prevent the Allies from using them as bases to contest the invasion of Timor and Java during World War II.
Darwin was lightly defended relative to the size of the attack, and the Japanese inflicted heavy losses upon Allied forces at little cost to themselves. The urban areas of Darwin also suffered some damage from the raids and there were a number of civilian casualties. More than half of Darwin's civilian population left the area permanently, before or immediately after the attack.
The two Japanese air raids were the first, and largest, of more than 100 air raids against Australia during 1942–43.
More bombs were dropped on Darwin (681 bombs weighing 114,100 kilograms (251,500 lb) by 205 bombers) than on Pearl Harbor (457 bombs [including 40 torpedoes]) weighing 133,560 kilograms (294,450 lb) by 273).

The M109 is an American 155 mm turreted self-propelled howitzer, first introduced in the early 1960s to replace the M44. It has been upgraded a number of times, most recently to the M109A7. The M109 family is the most common Western indirect-fire support weapon of maneuver brigades of armored and mechanized infantry divisions.The M109 has a crew of four: the section chief/commander, the driver, the gunner, and the ammunition handler/loader. The chief or gunner aims the cannon left or right (deflection) and up and down (quadrant).The British Army replaced its M109s with the AS-90. Several European armed forces have or are currently replacing older M109s with the German PzH 2000. Upgrades to the M109 were introduced by the U.S. (see variants below) and by Switzerland (KAWEST). With the cancellation of the U.S. Crusader and Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon, the M109A6 (Paladin) will likely remain the principal self-propelled howitzer for the U.S. until the new M1299 enters service.
Overall product improvement in the areas of survivability, RAM, and armament. This includes increased armor, a redesigned internal arrangement for safer ammunition and equipment storage, engine and suspension upgrades, and product improvement of the M284 Cannon and M182A1 Mount. The greatest difference is the integration of an inertial navigation system, sensors detecting the weapons' lay, automation, and an encrypted digital communication system, which utilizes computer controlled frequency hopping to avoid enemy electronic warfare and allow the howitzer to send grid location and altitude to the battery Fire Direction Center (FDC) . The battery FDCs in turn coordinate fires through a battalion or higher FDC. This allows the Paladin to halt from the move and fire within 30 seconds with an accuracy equivalent to the previous models when properly emplaced, laid, and safed—a process that required several minutes under the best of circumstances. Tactically, this improves the system's survivability by allowing the battery to operate dispersed by pairs across the countryside and allowing the howitzer to quickly displace between salvos, or if attacked by indirect fire, aircraft, or ground forces.Ammunition storage is increased from 36 to 39 155 mm rounds.
