It's known as a base for winter sports, and for its museums, universities and research centers. Spherical cable cars called “Les Bulles” (Bubbles) connect the town to the summit of La Bastille hill, named for the 18th-century fortress on its slopes.

Tram Nice ligne 2 - Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen
Une rame du tramway de Nice est aperçue sur la ligne 2 à la station Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen. Le tunnel que l'on aperçoit à partir de 0:59 est la partie souterraine dans lequel la ligne 2 poursuit son trajet. Elle est ainsi plus rapide et ne subit pas les perturbations extérieures car elle a son tunnel dédié, sur le même principe qu'un métro.
On peut également observer qu'il n'y a pas de caténaire sur cette portion de ligne : le tramway circule sur batteries et se recharge aux stations. On peut d'ailleurs voir les 2 capteurs sur chaque voie au début de la vidéo.
