1) Gwanghwamun Sqaure - First one on our list of the best places to visit in South Korea is Gwanghwamun Square, which is located in the heart of Seoul and is considered as a historically significant place. Here, you will find the statues of King Sejong The Great known for his invention of the Korean script Hangul and Admiral Yi Sun-Sin a naval commander from the 16th century, who defended Korea from the Japanese forces. Gwanghwamun Square serves as the main entrance to the Gyeongbokgung Palace. You can time your visit at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. to witness the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, except for Tuesdays. You can also rent a hanbok from the shops nearby.
Visit the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History if you want to gain a deeper understanding of South Korea's modern history and cultural evolution. Another interesting place to visit here is Open Studio. Standing right outside, you can watch real time news broadcast from the Korean news anchors.
2) Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) - Next one on our list has been the residence and office of the president of South Korea. This beautiful place is called Blue House or Cheong Wa-Dae, because of its blue roof tiles. The former President of South Korea used to stay at this place.
3) Bukchon Hanok Village - The Bukchon Village is located on a hilltop and is home to over 900 traditional Korean houses called Hanoks. This village is popular among the tourists and has been the filming location of various K-Dramas.
4) Hamdeok Beach - Welcome to the beautiful Hamdeok Beach! It is a hidden gem on Jeju Island, offering pristine white sands, emerald blue waters, tall palm trees and scenic coastal walks. Perfect place to enjoy a relaxed vacation. while capturing the natural beauty of Jeju Island.
5) Lotte World Tower - We are at Lotte World Tower and it is one of the tallest towers in the world. Just have a look how beautiful it is. And if you actually notice it has the shape of a whale, so very beautiful architecture, very vibrant. We were at the observation deck on the 117 floor.
6) Manjanggul Cave - It is a UNESCO world natural heritage site situated in Jeju Island & is considered as one of the longest lava tubes in the world. Once you step inside Manjanggul Cave, you will find different types of lava formations. You have to walk 1km inside the cave.
7) Songdo Central Park - So, right now I am at Songdo Central Park & it's right next to my hotel in Incheon. You can come here for a leisure walk, feel the fresh air & enjoy the spectacular views of this futuristic smart city.
8) Jeju Stone Park - It is a vast area which features volcanic stone formations, large rock statues called Dol-Hareubang, traditional thatched roof houses, Sky Pond and Jeju stone culture from pre-historic to modern times.
9) K-Star Road - The K-Star Road is a popular spot in the Gangnam District of Seoul for hardcore K-Pop fans. Here, you will find the Gangnam-dol of the most popular K-Pop bands. Be it BTS, Girls Generation, Exo, SHINee and many others. Apart from Gangnam-dol, you will come across the famous K-Pop entertainment companies like SMTOWN, JYP and Cube.
10) Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a multipurpose cultural center where various art exhibitions, fashion shows and conferences are held throughout the year. This is one of the coolest places to visit in Seoul, so make sure you visit this place during the Seoul Light show, where the entire aluminium facade is splashed with vibrant digital art illustrations.

Sejong Lake Park is a large scale man-made park and is one of the major tourist destinations in Sejong-si. The park has a walking path, an island, a stage on the water, and other facilities. In particular, Sehogyo Bridge and a stage on the water are the most well-known. On weekends, the area is packed with visitors in order to relax and enjoy performances, festivals, and cultural events.
The National Library of Korea, Sejong, and Bangchukcheon Stream, with its musical fountain, is also nearby.

세종시 - Walking in Sejong City, Korea
Sejong (Korean pronunciation: [se(ː).dʑoŋ]; Korean: 세종; Hanja: 世宗), officially the Sejong Special Self-Governing City (세종특별자치시; 世宗特別自治市), is a special self-governing city and de facto administrative capital of South Korea.
Sejong was founded in 2007 as the new planned capital of South Korea from many parts of the South Chungcheong province and some parts of North Chungcheong province to ease congestion in South Korea's current capital and largest city, Seoul, and encourage investment in the country's central region. Since 2012, the government of South Korea has relocated numerous ministries and agencies to Sejong, but many still reside in other cities - principally Seoul where the National Assembly and many important government bodies remain.
Sejong has a population of 351,007 as of 2020 and covers a geographic area of 465.23 km2 (179.63 sq mi), making it the least-populous and smallest first-level administrative division in South Korea. Sejong is located in the west-central Hoseo region, bordering South Chungcheong to the west, Daejeon Metropolitan City to the south, and North Chungcheong to the east.
The construction of the city should be completed in 2030. In the same year, all government institutions should be moved to Sejong. About 500,000 people are expected to live there in 2030.

☞ About ‘Sejong Government Complex’ (세종 정부청사)
In March 2005, the Special Law for the Construction of a Multifunctional Administrative City was enacted to relieve the adverse effects of over centralization in Seoul, strengthen the balance of development in the nation, and enhance national competitiveness. Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security devised a basic plan to construct a government office complex in an administrative city (2007) and proceeded with its construction at a new central government administration town located in Sejong Special Autonomous City.
The basic blueprint for the central government administration town was selected through an international design competition. In accordance with the final design, the town’s government office complex is eco-friendly, energy-saving, intelligent, and futuristic, with an infrastructure based on information and communications. As a green and “living” building, it is designed to blend in with the natural surroundings. It also has enhanced protection against earthquakes. -
세종시에 있는 정부세종청사를 구경하고 왔습니다. 걸어서는 전부 다 볼 수 없을 것 같아서 차로 쭈욱 돌아봤는데요. 정말 넓고 세련되었다는 느낌을 많이 받았습니다. 내부는 못봤지만 초현대식으로 지어졌다고 하네요. 특이한 것은 건물마다 연결되어 있는 통로가 있어서 안에서 일하는 직원들은 하루종일 밖으로 나올 일이 거의 없어보였습니다.
