Thibodaux is a city located in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is the largest city in Lafourche Parish and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. Thibodaux is located about 50 miles southwest of New Orleans and is known for its proximity to Bayou Lafourche and the surrounding wetlands.
The city was founded in the early 19th century and was named after Pierre Thibodaux, a local landowner. It is known for its sugarcane industry, and is home to several large sugar refineries and other businesses related to the industry.
