Bienvenue à Sarrebourg. Voici est une ville Allemande qui se trouve dans l'ouest de l'Allemagne proche de Trêves. J'ai découvert cette ville à hasard en rentrant de la ville de Trèves pour retourné à Thionville dans la Moselle.
On trouve aussi une ville Sarrebourg en France dans le département de la Moselle en amont de la rivière Sarre qui donne le nom de cette ville qui est en même temps jumelée avec cette ville Allemande.
C'est une petite ville très charmante style médiévale, fief des comtes puis ducs de Luxembourg.

- Hotel barge Panache cruising through the enchanting town of Saverne in Alsace-Lorraine where history traces back over 2,000 years to the Gallo-Roman Times, mooring at the foot of the Château de Rohan, also known as the 'Versailles of Alsace'. After lunch we enjoy a scenic drive into the rolling Vosges hills on the Route des Grands Crus, followed by a private tasting of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Riesling wines.
In the Summer and Autumn, Panache cruises the beautiful waterways of Alsace- Lorraine. It is a region in Eastern France with a unique mix of French and German cultures, Baroque and Romanesque architecture, storybook villages, diverse culinary specialities and wonderful white wines.
During our voyage we visit historic landmarks such as Strasbourg's majestic Gothic cathedral and the enchanting village of Saverne where history traces back over 20 centuries to the Gallo-Roman times. We also tour fascinating places such as Sarrebourg with its museum and the chapel containing Marc Chagall's stunning stained glass windows, and visit the outstanding René Lalique collection of Nouveau and Art Deco glassware, chandelier and designs. We explore the rolling Vosges hills on the Route des Grands Crus, where the finest wines in Alsace are produced and of course experience an ascent or descent aboard the barge of the dramatic 'boat elevator' at Arzviller.

All the bathrooms have twin handbasins and oversized showers with massage jets. Vol en motoplaneur SF28 à Sarrebourg-Buhl
Pour mes 25 ans, ma chérie m'avait offert un vol en planeur, que j'ai enfin pu effectuer le samedi 5 septembre 2015 à l'aérodrome de Sarrebourg-Buhl, à bord de ce super motoplaneur SF28, au-dessus du pays de Sarrebourg.
Le vol démarre au moteur, comme un avion classique, puis une fois monté au plafond nuageux, environ 750m ce jour-là, le pilote coupe le moteur et le vol se poursuit en mode planeur, jusqu'à l'atterrissage.

At the Saar Loop - Germany 4K Travel Channel
The Saar Loop lies in the border triangle, Germany, France, and Luxembourg. A year ago, we met Eithne Treanor on our trip to Tajikistan. Already at that time, we agreed that we wanted to meet again. Eithne is Irish but lives in Dubai. On the way to her homeland, she made a stopover in Luxembourg and visited a friend. A perfect opportunity for meeting us again.
Since she also enjoys traveling, of course, we also want to show her our area. On the way from Luxembourg to our home, we visit the Saar loop near Mettlach.
Actually, it is from Besseringen to Mettlach only 2 km as the crow flies, but the Saar river has to make a detour of almost 10 km through the Taunus quartzite. From a height of 180 m above the river, you have a nice view of almost the whole Saar loop. Until now, the view was only possible from the Cloef-Atrium, a stone terrace.
In 2016, one built a treetop path. The path leads 1250 m through the forest, with the footbridge running up to a height of 23 m. At its end is a 42 m high observation tower with a 70 m² terrace. The path goes up in double bends and has no steps. The observation tower is mainly made of wood. Only the supporting structure is made of steel.
On days of good visibility, you can see the closed coal-fired plant 28 km away in Ensdorf.
We believe that the Saar loop and the treetop path did not only appeal to us, but also to Eithne.

Die Saarschleife liegt im Dreiländereck, Deutschland, Frankreich und Luxemburg.
Vor einen Jahr haben wir Eithne Treanor auf unserer Tadschikistan Reise kennengelernt. Schon damals haben wir vereinbart, dass wir uns wiedersehen wollen. Eithne ist Irin, lebt aber in Dubai. Auf dem Weg in ihre alte Heimat hat sie in Luxemburg einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt und eine Freundin besucht. Somit hat sich auch ein Besuch bei uns angeboten.
Da sie sehr reisefreudig ist, wollen wir ihr natürlich auch unsere Gegend zeigen. Auf dem Weg von Luxemburg zu uns nach Hause besuchen wir die Saarschleife bei Mettlach.
Eigentlich sind es von Besseringen nach Mettlach nur 2 km Luftlinie, doch die Saar ist gezwungen einen Umweg von fast 10 km durch den Taunusquarzit zu machen. Aus 180 m Höhe über dem Fluss hat man eine herrlichen Blick auf nahezu die gesamte Schleife. Bislang war der Ausblick nur vom Cloef-Atrium, einer Steinterrasse, aus möglich.
2016 wurde ein Baumwipfelpfad errichtet. Der Pfad führt 1250 m weit durch den Wald, wobei der Steg in einer Höhe von bis zu 23 m verläuft. An seinem Ende wurde ein 42 m hoher Aussichtsturm mit einer 70 m² großen Terrasse errichtet. Der Weg führt in Serpentinen hinauf und hat keine Stufen. Der Aussichtsturm besteht überwiegend aus Holz. Nur das tragende Gerüst ist aus Stahl.
Bei guter Sicht kann man das stillgelegte Kohlekraftwerk Ensdorf in 28 km Entfernung erkennen.
Wir glauben, dass die Saarschleife und der Baumwipfelpfad nicht nur uns, sondern auch Eithne sehr gut gefallen hat.

La capitale de la Sarre est Sarrebruck. Il est situé à la frontière avec la France et est le point le plus à l'ouest de l'Allemagne. L'ancien château a été érigé sur un rocher près de la rivière, et il est devenu la fondation de la future ville.
La capitale de la région est un centre universitaire et industriel. La ville de Homburg est célèbre pour son charme français, car elle a longtemps été un territoire de la France. Une visite à Homburg sera intéressante pour les amateurs d'antiquités. Les amateurs de bière apprécieront également ici.
Mercy - la ville allemande de Merzig a une telle signification en traduction du français. Le Werner Freund Wolf Park est une réserve de loups qui existe dans la ville depuis 1972. Merzig est également connue pour la source curative de Bitzener.
Que regarder
L'industrie lourde, qui était auparavant développée dans la région, a laissé un héritage historique sous la forme de musées et de monuments industriels. Il vaut la peine de regarder l'usine métallurgique de Völklingen, l'ancienne colonie des Celtes (Otzenhausen), le centre de Villeroy et Boch (Metlach), le parc industriel de Neunkirchen.

Des reconstructions et des découvertes de différentes époques sont présentées ici, et ce lieu lui-même est unique en ce qu'il est situé sur le territoire de la France et de l'Allemagne en même temps, des deux côtés de la frontière entre ces États.
Attractions
A Sarrebruck, dans sa partie la plus ancienne, se trouve un château du même nom. Ce bâtiment a été érigé en 999. Le château a été construit dans le style baroque; une belle place du palais le jouxte. C'était autrefois la résidence du prince Wilhelm Heinrich.
Un endroit idéal pour la randonnée est le marché de St. Johan. C'est une vieille place avec des restaurants confortables et des quartiers d'artisanat.

Metz is the prefecture of the Moselle department and the seat of the parliament of the Grand Est region. Located near the tripoint along the junction of France, Germany and Luxembourg, the city forms a central place of the European Greater Region and the SaarLorLux euroregion.
Metz has a rich 3,000-year history, having variously been a Celtic oppidum, an important Gallo-Roman city, the Merovingian capital of Austrasia, the birthplace of the Carolingian dynasty, a cradle of the Gregorian chant, and one of the oldest republics in Europe. The city has been steeped in Romance culture, but has been strongly influenced by Germanic culture due to its location and history.
Because of its historical, cultural and architectural background, Metz has been submitted on France's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
Luxury Hotel Barge Cruises in Alsace, France
- In the Summer and Autumn, hotel barge Panache cruises the beautiful waterways of Alsace. It is a region in Eastern France with a unique mix of French and German cultures, Baroque and Romanesque architecture, storybook villages, diverse culinary specialities and wonderful white wines.
During our voyage we visit historic landmarks such as Strasbourg’s majestic Gothic cathedral and the enchanting village of Saverne where history traces back over 20 centuries to the Gallo-Roman times. We also tour fascinating places such as Sarrebourg with its museum and the chapel containing Marc Chagall’s stunning stained glass windows, and visit the outstanding René Lalique collection of Nouveau and Art Deco glassware. We explore the rolling Vosges hills on the Route des Vins d'Alsace, where the finest wines of the region are produced. And of course experience an ascent or descent aboard Panache of the dramatic ‘boat elevator’ at Arzviller.
Panache is a stylish twelve passenger hotel barge, with spacious public areas and six comfortable double or twin en suite cabins. All the bathrooms have twin handbasins and oversized showers. There are panoramic windows in the saloon and the hotel barge has been fitted out in traditional yacht style with brass and mahogany fittings. A large sun deck and spa pool, plus 12 bicycles for guests’ use to explore the towpath complete the picture.
What is hotel barging?
Despite the growing popularity of cruising, especially on large river vessels, hotel barging is still a little known niche concept. Most hotel barges started life as cargo vessels but have since been painstakingly converted to offer luxury boutique accommodation for small groups of up to 20 passengers.
This is cruising, but in a very different style to ships plying the big rivers or oceans. The pace is slow, with a 6 day cruise covering maybe just 50 miles along a rural canal. Passengers can walk or bike the towpaths as their floating hotel glides gently along. Guests enjoy an intimate atmosphere, high levels of personal service and immersion into the culture, history and gastronomy of regions of Europe such as Burgundy, the Midi, or the Italian Veneto.
Every day there is an excursion, perhaps to a chateau, a vineyard for a wine tasting, or some other ‘off the beaten track’ location. About half of European Waterways’ bookings are for whole boat charters, ideal for families. Otherwise, clients book a cabin to join other like-minded people.
