The population was 28,491 at the 2020 census.[4] The name reflects the presence of mineral springs in the area, which has made Saratoga a popular vacation destination for over 200 years. Saratoga Spa State Park is home to some of Saratoga Springs' most popular attractions.This National Historic Landmark offers diverse cultural, aesthetic and recreational activities in such venues as the Lincoln mineral baths, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Spa Little Theater, National Museum of Dance and the historic Gideon Putnam Hotel.
The spa complex includes the grand Hall of Springs, Simon Baruch Research Institute (and the administration building), and two Roosevelt bathhouses assembled around a central mall, with covered walkways completing the ensemble. Outside the central quad lie the Victoria Pool and Recreation Center, the Gideon Putnam Hotel, and a state bottling plant. The overall landscape design includes a reflecting pool, extensive lawns and tree plantings, scenic trails, forested drives, formal walks, athletic fields and scenic vistas.

A quick tour of the Saratoga National Historical Park, Stillwater, NY, United States.
This is an important battlefield site because it was the site of the Battles of Saratoga, the first significant American military victory of the American Revolutionary War in 1777. Basically the hotch potch American militia fought and comprehensively beat the might of the British Army.
I literally had 45 minutes to run around the park before it was closed up so I couldn't really give a good summary of events here in 1777. All I will say is the park is a beautiful location to visit, has plenty of nice views (and walking routes) and a centre with lots of info (which I didn't have time to absorb properly).

Did you know that Saratoga Springs is only a 3.5 hour drive from NYC and has world-famous attractions? I grew up here and there are a lot of incredible things to do in the summer.
Save this guide for future reference!
1. Saratoga Race Course: Horse racing is one of the oldest sports on earth and is fun for all ages. The racetrack has all types of things to do; live music, dining, mineral springs, and, of course, watching the races! To learn even more about horse racing check out NYRA and @americasbestracing. They are the best resource for all things horse racing!
2. Mineral springs and spas - did you know that people used to travel from all over the world to bathe in Saratoga’s natural mineral Springs? Today you can still visit them and even taste them! My favorite thing to do in this category though is to visit our fabulous spas. We have many!
3. World-class dining - Our restaurant and bar scene is incredible. For high end dining check out @saltandchar or @prime_saratoganational. The latter is located on a beautiful golf course. On that note, we have excellent golf courses as well!
4. Outdoor activities - From kayaking to skiing to swimming in our many lakes, there is a lot to do here when it comes to nature. We are located in between the Catskills in the Adirondacks, which have a great hiking. Many people come to this area for the outdoor adventures alone!

Today we visited the Saratoga National Historical Park which is a United States National Historical Park located in the Town of Stillwater in eastern New York, forty miles north of Albany. The park preserves the site of the Battles of Saratoga.
