Santa Cruz do Sul is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. 155 km from Porto Alegre and 142 km from Santa Maria, in the center of the state. Its population, according to estimates for 2021, was 132,271 inhabitants, making it the 15th most populous municipality in Rio Grande do Sul. It is located in the region of Vale do Rio Pardo. With a temperate climate, with vegetation from the Atlantic Forest and Pampa, and lithographic predominance of volcanic rocks.
The former Colony of Santa Cruz, one of the main centers of the German colonization of Rio Grande do Sul, both Portuguese and German are spoken there, mainly the Hunsrückisch dialect.
Its economy is historically linked to tobacco, being considered the tobacco capital of the world. It experienced strong economic expansion, verticalization, and rural exodus in the 20th century until the beginning of the 21st century, and in 2018 its GDP stood at 9.4 billion reais, the sixth highest in the state, while the Human Development Index (HDI) was of 0.733 in 2010, considered high.
With good infrastructure for tourism, the city is known for hosting the largest Oktoberfest in Rio Grande do Sul, the Oktoberfest in Santa Cruz do Sul, for hosting one of the largest amateur art festivals in Latin America, the Encontro de Arte e Tradição, and by the Autodromo Internacional de Santa Cruz do Sul, also hosting two professional football clubs, Esporte Clube Avenida and Futebol Clube Santa Cruz.
The first inhabitants of the city came in 1849: they lived in huts and ranches. The colony was elevated to a parish in 1859. In 1879, according to a survey, 90.54% of the inhabitants of the Colony of Santa Cruz, excluding Brazilians, came from the Kingdom of Prussia, with 42.53% from Pomerania, 37.88 % from Rhineland, 4.46% from Prussia, 3.57% from Silesia, 1.65% from Westphalia, and 0.14% from Brandenburg. 8.92% came from other German states, and another 0.55% from other European regions.

Praia do Forte is a long beach with a small village 80 km away from the city of Salvador, Bahia. The beach is known for its clear waters, white sand, natural pools, rivers and an ecological reserve of native flora and fauna.
Mata de São João is one of the most visited destinations on the coast of Bahia, and few people know it. The city - next to Salvador -, is famous for housing a collection of beach villages that behave like real emancipated municipalities, such as Praia do Forte and Imbassaí. That is why Mata de São João has become the main tourist center of the Northern Coast.
The city has a vast territory, but the tourist buzz is concentrated near the coast. The beaches have relatively calm waters, and are naturally protected by coral reefs, which form natural pools at low tide. The marine biodiversity is a characteristic of this region, which is home to one of the most important branches of the Tamar Project.
Mata de São João is home to nothing less than the largest hotel complex in the Northeast, and one of the largest in Brazil: Costa do Sauípe. The resort is located on the northern edge of the city, and has a number of very well structured hotels and resorts.
Costa do Sauípe also has good restaurants and bars, many of them signed by international chefs. But most of them are restricted to guests, or at such a great distance from the other beaches that it is not worth the drive. For those who intend to stay in the complex, the tip is to enjoy the nightly buzz of Vila Nova da Praia, a kind of open air mall that recreates the typical villages of the Northeast.
Since the 1980s, Praia do Forte has been home to the main base of the Tamar Project - responsible for studying and protecting sea turtles. Such action was fundamental for the preservation of the village that, even though it is crowded during the high season, keeps the region's nature untouched.
In addition, the project's headquarters is one of the most interesting local attractions - the space has breeding tanks, aquariums, and biologists on duty to accompany the visit.
Those who are in the area between the months of December and February get a bonus - they can participate in the exciting process of releasing the newly hatched turtles into the sea. Between the months of July and October, the attractions are the humpback whales, which come there to breed and nurse their young.
Praia do Forte is not, however, only about nature. In the center, closed to car traffic and called Vila (Village), dozens of bars and restaurants, charming inns, handcraft shops and jewelry stores take over the avenue, the avenues - the Sol is the most popular - and the shopping malls.
The glamour increases with each season, but the beach insists on keeping its rustic atmosphere and, for this, does not give up the little white church by the sea, the dirt roads, the caiçara houses, and the colorful fishermen's boats.
The heart of Praia do Forte is the village, an old meeting place for fishermen when the region was just a village. The center gained charm and sophistication with the stores, inns, bars and restaurants that spread through the colorful alleys - Alameda do Sol is the most popular because of the bars, cafes, restaurants, and designer stores. Paved with stones and with closed traffic for vehicles, the space is also the beach's nightlife point.
A beach of great extension and beauty, it usually attracts a large number of tourists during the high season. Sou do tipo que planeja, mas não deixo de aproveitar as oportunidades de uma viagem. Muitas vezes, acabamos nos surpreendendo com os bons acasos que surgem. Aconteceu comigo, recentemente. Durante uma ida a Porto Alegre, surgiu a ideia de fugir até a Serra Gaúcha, mas para um endereço fora do roteiro tradicional Gramado-Canela. O Morro Ferrabraz fica em Sapiranga, está a 779 metros de altitude e guarda refúgios em meio a rocha vulcânica. É um lugar de natureza exuberante. E um reduto do voo livre no Sul do país.

BAGAGEIRO NA KOMBIHOME | MORRO FERRABRAZ - SAPIRANGA/RS
Neste vídeo mostramos a colocação do bagageiro na Kombihome e aproveitamos para conhecer o Morro Ferrabraz, em Sapiranga - RS.
A instalação do bagageiro foi bem rápida, também colocamos uma escadinha e as grades de proteção nas janelas laterais.
Como estávamos em Sapiranga e era pertinho, fomos conhecer o Morro Ferrabraz. No início do trajeto, subindo o Morro, fomos surpreendidos por um paredão enorme de pedra, com uma queda d'água, conhecido como Pedra da Jacobina. Um lugar incrível!
Continuamos a subida e fomos até o topo do Morro da Ferrabraz., o lugar é muito bonito, tem um gramado bem cuidado e possui duas rampas de voo livre e outra rampa de largada para corrida de bicicletas.
Apreciamos a bela paisagem, com tempo bom é possível avistar muitas cidades de lá, inclusive a região metropolitana de Porto Alegre. Também fizemos voos com o drone, que rendeu belas imagens e um susto, pois o voo o drone foi atacado por caturritas e quase caiu.
Ficamos um tempo por lá, depois procuramos um local para almoçar e após voltamos para casa.
Valeu muito a pena a volta por Sapiranga, gostamos muito do bagageiro e o passeio no Morro Ferrabraz foi ótimo.

A Pop110 encarou o desafio de subir 779 metros de altitude por uma estrada de terra , com subidas que exigiram muita atenção e coragem kkkk
