Venezuela is a country of striking natural beauty, and one of the most highly-urbanised countries in Latin America that borders the Caribbean Sea in north and the North Atlantic Ocean in east.
Neighboring countries are Colombia in west and south west, Brazil in south and Guyana in east. The country shares also overlapping maritime borders with Barbados, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Puerto Rico.
With an area of 912,000 km² Venezuela is slightly more than 2.5 times the size of Germany or slightly more than twice the size of the U.S. state of California. Venezuela has a population of 31.1 million inhabitants (in 2015) of whom 6 million live in the capital and largest city Caracas. Official language is Spanish.
Caracas is the capital city of Venezuela, set in a beautiful valley overlooked by Avila Mountain. This is a city of great contrasts, excellent food, and edgy nightlife. There are some good museums, fine architecture, and one of the best galleries in South America at the Museo de Arte Colonial.

The phrase pristine often overused in the tourism industry to describe beaches, yet it is appropriate in Costa Rica, since 25% of the land is biologically protected and maintained. Costa Rica is home to jungles, volcanoes, oceans, and, of course, surf beaches. Costa Rica's beaches are diverse and provide guests with a variety of experiences. People flock here to surf, swim, sunbathe, and relax at the laid-back beach villages that dot the beaches.
The nature of the beaches changes as you travel to different sections of the country. Warm water is one thing they all have in common. Venezuela's Luxury Market For The Rich ????????
In Margarita exist the biggest supermarket I've seen in Venezuela and with the most imported products. 4-6 years ago Venezuela faced its biggest food crisis and over 5 million fled the country. Nowadays you can find any food product and also some imported goods but it will cost you a lot of money. The current minimum wage is at about $30 USD a month which is about a 300% increase from when I arrived in the country a few months ago. Basically only a select few can afford to shop here except for when it come to alcohol which is extremely cheap in the Venezuelan island which has no tax on alcohol.

I visited Morrocoy national park in Venezuela to visit the beautiful beaches and keys. I ended making friends with locals including some Venezuelan girls that wanted me to try out some local homemade booze. With out a second of hesitation I went in for it, what's the worst that can happen.

On the way to La Hacienda Santa Teresa
Glimpses of Venezuela: On the way from Caracas to Hacienda La Santa Teresa, Sunday, 19 February, 2012. Situated at El Consejo in the fertile Valley of Aragua at a distance of about 100 kms from Caracas, La Hacienda Santa Teresa is the famos rum factory of Venezuela. Known by its brand name Santa Teresa, this factory was started in 1796. A tour of this factory spread of a large valley involves visit to its various establishments starting from the sugarcane plantations and a bite of fresh sugarcane in the fields, destillation plant, workshop which makes wooden barrels, bodegas and ends with tasting of six different varieties of Rum. There are several restaurants with live music and facilities for children to enjoy their day out. El Consejo, the place where it is located, used to be a railway station in the days gone by of which one is reminded by the railway lines, engines and coaches, good for taking photgraphs. There are more than 1500 palm tress all across this Hacienda. And finally there is a shop from where one can buy the rums and souvenirs and also authentic Venezuelan coffee. The visitors are also given a certificate for having tasted the rums. A visit is strongly recommended.
