LA MADDALENA - The Most BEAUTIFUL Sail & Dock Destination in the Mediterranean
When Sailing in la Maddalena sardinia, you enter a natural world of incredible beauty.
Everywhere are islands rocky and rugged.
In the lee of the islands are excellent coves and bays well protected and picturesque.
The swimming and snorkelling are magnificent , as is scuba diving.
Exploring them is the highlight of sailing Maddalena, of course, in calm weather.
We had a strong northwest wind, so we docked at Gavetta marina, the main port.

Maddalena is a very charming tourist town with many restaurants and bars.
We docked at Gavetta marina, which is the main harbour,
Stroll the narrow streets and browse through the shops, where you can buy handicrafts, jewellery, and other items made by local artisans.
The next day we rented a car and drove around the Island.
There are many fantastic anchorages at Maddalena Island.
Cala protease is a favourite and provides good shelter from westerly winds.
Other excellent anchorage choices include the deep cove of Stagno Torto, and Calla Dello Spalmatore.

La Maddalena is a magical archipelago in Sardinia Italy. We unfortunately were unable to rent a car, but we were able to take the bus to this beautiful destination. In this guide we'll share how to get from Olbia Sardinia to Palau and then to La Maddalena either on a boat tour or by ferry. A boat tour is a great way to explore La Maddalena Archipelago only accessible by boat. The crystal clear and perfectly blue turquoise water is incredible must see in Sardinia.

Finding, exploring & photograph Santa Maddalena Church is a tricky thing. Crossed the mountains and endless hills and various small villages finally arrived at Funes/Villnöss Valley. If you are a photographer be prepared to spend a day in green meadows, dense forests, rustic mountain huts, striking mountain peaks, and lovely villages... I definitely revisit this area on my next trip and travel deeper into the valley.
Like many visitors, this is my first trip to Funes valley, we are not familiar with the area and wasted so much time looking for the perfect spot for a few shots. I read some Google articles, but finding the exact spot to photograph is another story since most areas are car-free zone. I decided to post this video so photographers or visitors can find it more easily on your trip to Santa Maddalena Church.

Amazing Sardinia Italy - Boat tour of the Maddalena Archipelago The crystal blue water of Caprera
Amazing Sardinia Italy - We did an amazing tour, on board of the Valentina 2, of the Maddalena Archipelago in Sardinia Italy. We started our tour from Baja Sardinia where we boarded this amazing historic sail ship. Our first stop was the charming little town of La Maddalena in the main island of the archipelago. After a nice little stroll in town we boarded again for our next stop the island of Spargi. In less than half hour of sailing we reached the amazing Spiaggia dell'Amore the beach of love with its deep turquoise water. We had a nice swim there while our crew was setting the lunch. After that we sailed for our next stop the island of Budelli and the famous Manto della Madonna (The Virgin Mary cape). This amazing area of green and turquoise water is very popular and its name came from the color of the water. In facts it resembles the blue color that painters in the renaissance used to paint the Holy Mary cape. Our final and most amazing stop was on the island of Caprera the famous Cala Coticcio, also known as Tahiti. This beach has the most transparent deep blue water I've ever seen. In this beach you can clearly see the bottom of the sea even in more than 20 meters of water. We did an amazing swim surrounded by tons of fish. It was an absolute blast. This was probably the most amazing tour of Sardinia Italy we have ever done. Captain Enrico and his helper Alessandro were amazing. They showed us all the best spots in the archipelago and were there to make our tour a total delight. Well done!

In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists – but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.
After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew – and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members!
