Zihuatanejo Mexico more commonly referred to as Zihua is a beautiful fishing village/beach town located in the state of Guerrero Mexico on the Pacific Ocean. You may see the name Ixtapa Zihuatanejo - which refers to the two neighboring towns, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo but in this Mexico travel vlog we are just going to be focusing on Zihuatanejo.

This is a travel guide of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. In this travel guide we explore La Ropa as well as the principal beach area. We also take a boat around the bay and explore the central area of town. The two hotels we stayed at while in Zihuatanejo were Hotel Irma and The Hotel Mexicana. Zihuatanejo was established as a fishing village popularized by The Shawshank Redemption but now a days it's considered one of Mexicos finest beach towns. There is another nearby Mexican beach town called Ixtapa.

Today we explore Zihuatanejo Mexico in the state of Guerrero on the West coast of Mexico. Zihuatanejo also known as Ixtapa Zihuatanejo because of its close proximity to the other resort town is popular with tourists and cruise ship passengers. Many Canadians visit this area of Mexico. We walk around the main beach as well as go over to La Ropa. We also take a tour around the bay and even a condo in Zihuatanejo. We also show you several hotels including staying at two different hotels. We don't actually show you Ixtapa although that is a resort town just north of here.

Zihuatanejo, el corazón de Ixtapa
Bienvenidos a Zihuatanejo, también conocido como Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, le llaman así por su cercanía con la localidad de Ixtapa.
Este pueblo pesquero se extiende alrededor de la Bahía de Zihuatanejo. El centro de la ciudad está ubicado en el extremo norte de la bahía y conserva su aspecto de típico pueblito mexicano.
Aquí puedes encontrar grán variedad de hoteles, tiendas, restaurantes, dispuestos a recibirte con la hospitalidad de la gente de Zihua. Las calles adoquinadas y la sombra de las tejas hacen del centro un lugar perfecto para pasear a cualquier hora del día.
El corazón de Zihuatanejo es el Paseo del Pescador, también conocido como el malecón, en dónde al atardecer, se llena de pescadores preparándose para salir a conseguir todo el pescado fresco que al día siguiente se va a servir en los restaurantes de la Bahía.
No puedes dejar de visitar el Mercado Artesanal, que ofrece una gran variedad de piezas pintadas por los artesanos locales. También se puede comprar ropita para playa o algún recuerdito para la familia.
En la noche, el centro se llena de actividad, puedes sentarte en la cancha de basket a ver un partido entre los equipos locales, y participar en eventos culturales.
O si lo tuyo es la conga, también hay paseos en yate por la bahia.

TRAVELING TO INCREDIBLE ZIHUATANEJO, MEXICO (2021)
In this video I wake up in the town of Acapulco again where I had stayed for some time. But I was about to take the bus further up north in the west side of Mexico to the town of Zihuatanejo. I had previously come all they way from the state of Oaxaca and the famous towns there like Huatulco and Puerto Escondido which were also really incredible. Compared to those towns, Zihuatanejo did not have as clean water by the beach but instead really amazing mountains surrounding the town. Zihuatanejo is a resort city on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, northwest of Acapulco. It’s known for its beaches, like Playa La Ropa, and many more incredible ones.

ZIHUATANEJO DAY 5 VLOG | Playa Las Gatas, Zihuatanejo, Mexico | The BEST Beach Day!
This was my FAVORITE beach day! It felt peaceful and was super enjoyable with our awesome seats and food at Otilia's Restaurant. We took a water taxi over to Playa Las Gatas from the pier at Playa Principal. The cost was $80 pesos (approx. $4 US) for a round trip fare per person on the water taxis. While at the beach we enjoyed some great food, nice comfy lounge chairs under an umbrella, snorkeling, and a pretty walk to enjoy the views of the bay in Zihuatanejo. If you are headed to Zihua, you HAVE to go to Playa Las Gatas. You won't be disappointed.

Visiting Playa Contramar, the Hidden Beach of Zihuatanejo
Ali and I love the local beaches. Playa Contramar and Playa Manzanillo are two here in Zihuatanejo that we occasionally visit. On the day we visited there were quite a few people there. And unfortunately we waited until late in the afternoon, so the late rains caught us. I still haven't jumped off that old building into the water. And I still don't know what was here a few years back. It seems like there used to be bungalows and a restaurant on the water, but haven't got a confirmation.
