Punta Cana all you can see, in Higuey, Dominican Republic
I am taking the Motorbike for a little excursion from Punta Cana to Higuey. You can take the Bus or a tour. The bus from Bavaro - Punta Cana brings you directly to the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia. It's worth a visit! From I went to the Park ( Parque Central) and than to the Market. It's a trip you can do can do by yourself, or you find a little tour. You will find lot's of friendly and helpful Dominican People.

Heute fahre ich mit dem Motorad von Punta Cana nach Higuey. Der erste Stop is an der Basilika. Hier ist immer wieder schön. Wenn man in Bavaro and der Bushalte einsteigt, kann man direkt an der Kirche in Higuey aussteigen. Von der Basilika geht es zum Park und dan weiter zum Markt. Salvaleon de Higüey ist nicht unbedingt eine schöne Stadt, aber auf jeden fall interessant. Man kann selber mit den Bus hinfahren, oder sich eine tour suchen.

En la ciudad se encuentra la catedral más antigua de la isla y además diferentes construcciones típicas de la zona.
El Santuario San Dionisio en Higüey es toda una reliquia de la arquitectura colonial dominicana, cuya construcción inició en el siglo XVI y tiene más de 500 años.
La ciudad de Higüey fundada en 1503 es una de las ciudades más antiguas de todo el continente americano y se encuentra situada a pocos kilómetros de distancia de Punta Cana. Allí se puede admirar la arquitectura y el despliegue de las tradiciones y cultura dominicana.
En las calles, es común ver a los llamados motoconchos que son las moto-taxi que utilizan los dominicanos para transportarse
República Dominicana se caracteriza por la producción de café, cacao, coco y caña de azúcar y la bebida típica es la mamajuana que no podes dejar de probar. A la mamajuana se le atribuyen cualidades medicinales y afrodisíacas, es una bebida espirituosa elaborada básicamente con cortezas de árboles, vino tinto, ron y miel.
Visitamos una plantación de Café y Cacao típica de la república dominicana donde pudimos disfrutar una cocoa con unas galletas caseras riquísimas.

Los 21 de enero de cada año miles de dominicanos, principalmente, visitan la Basílica Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia en la Provincia La Altagracia en Salvaleón de Higuey, dentro de la región Este de Republica Dominicana. Muchos llegan incluso descalzos desde decenas de kilometros, y en muchos casos, visitan solamente para ver a lo lejos la imagen de la Madre de Jesús ???????? . ¿Por que lo hacen?

Passing by the Cathedral, the market and most important the Bus Stop from where you can catch the Bus back to Bavaro, Punta Cana. Ask so you are not hopping on the wrong one.

Travel Tip Punta Cana - excursion - you can do by yourself if have a car.
The cave, cenote or Blue Hole in Macao was a hidden Gem for many, many years. Only a few excursions came here, as well our Xtreme Buggy tour, because there where just few tours and our Original Dune Buggy’s with VW engine ( and air shocks :-)) could handle the Jungle path.
Today you will find a paved road until the Cave and if you come after 9 AM many, many many large Buggy tours with even more people, who will jump into the pristine water with all their mud on.
My Punta Cana all you can see Travel Tip for you is, to go BEFORE that.
Enjoy the Blue Hole and the Cristal clear water, before mass tourism comes. The Flair is absolutely gone with all these people and you will spend time in line to only see the water.
It is easy to find with google maps and if you go early, you will find it “like in the good old days”
A Caribbean dream!
You should be on your way out at around 9 AM. From the Cave in Macao you can go to Macao Beach, or drive on to Higuey or the Waterfall to Anamuya. You can find these tours on YouTube, Punta Cana all you can see, Playlist excursions.

La Basilica de Higüey is one of the most respected monuments of the Dominican Republic. It is located in on the main street of the province of Salva Leon de Higüey. The the present building was inaugurated by the Dr. Joaquin Balaguer (1974-1978); since then La Basilica is considered as the most important religious monument of the Dominican Republic, above several important churches like Las Mercedes. La Basilica is one of the most visited Dominican monuments for by foreigners and nationals tourist; it certainly is the religious center of attention of Latin America and it is where the altar of La Virgen de la Altagracia, the Patron Saint of Dominican Republic, is placed.

This was my first attempt at recording my experience, eating street food in Higuey. I had a really good experience the cooks were really friendly and I’ll tag your information below and if you ever want to visit there I highly recommend it they have bars in the area very friendly and everybody’s pretty much related around there so it’s a it’s a nice stop is basically west of the Basilica and I highly recommend it.
