Chamonix is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. Wherever you are in the Chamonix valley, all you have to do is look up to see the majestic Mont Blanc, culminating at 4,810 meters above sea level. But that's not all: the Glacier des Bossons, the Aiguille du Midi, the Mer de Glace, the Col de Balme, the Aiguille d'Argentière, the Grandes Jorasses, the Dent du Géant... The Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley is home to thousands of snowy wonders and peaks to watch (or climb!).
During summer when the snow melts, nature takes over and the landscapes are transformed, offering a completely different panorama. Although Chamonix remains a nature destination first and foremost, its town center is breathtaking. In summer, it is particularly pleasant to stroll around this small town in bloom at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. The town of Chamonix was once just a humble mountain village.
Chamonix was part of the historical land of Savoy emerged as the feudal territory of the House of Savoy during the 11th to 14th centuries. The historical territory is shared between the modern countries of France, Italy and Switzerland. The House of Savoy became the longest surviving royal house in Europe. It ruled the County of Savoy to 1416 and then the Duchy of Savoy from 1416 to 1860.
The first party to publish (1744) an account of their visit was that of Richard Pococke, William Windham and others, such as the Englishmen who visited the Mer de Glace in 1741. The growth of tourism in the early 19th century led to the formation of the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix in 1821, to regulate access to the mountain slopes (which were communally or co-operatively owned), and this association held a monopoly of guiding from the town until it was broken by French government action in 1892; thereafter guides were required to hold a diploma issued by a commission dominated by civil servants and members of the French Alpine Club rather than local residents.
Reflecting its history, Chamonix features a mix of traditional Alpine architecture and more modern buildings. At the center of the town's pedestrian area is a lovely Baroque church. Scattered around Chamonix are old-fashioned chalets and Belle Epoque hotels, as well as rustic country lodges.
The village is full of tourist shops, upscale boutiques, and gourmet restaurants. Dining options range from casual cafés and traditional brasseries to fancy gastronomic establishments. However, the best way to enjoy the regional cuisine is experiencing a welcoming auberge or mountain refuge.

Come and discover Annecy, one of the most beautiful cities in France! Its picturesque canals, medieval architecture and bridges give it the nickname of the Venice of the Alps. Nestled on the shores of Lake Annecy, at the foot of the mountains, the town benefits from an exceptional natural environment.
Annecy is a city in the Alps located in the south-east of France. This is where Lake Annecy flows into the Thiou. It is renowned for its old town with its cobbled streets, winding canals and pastel-colored houses. Overlooking the city, the medieval castle of Annecy, former residence of the counts of Geneva, houses a museum offering regional objects, such as alpine furniture or religious works, as well as an exhibition on natural history.
Its lake with blue-green waters and its canals that run through the old town have given it the nickname of “Venice of the Alps“. Renowned worldwide for its tourist appeal, the quality of life and its surrounding mountains, Annecy is today a tourist town which has managed to preserve its charm and authenticity to the delight of holidaymakers and which, at the same time, is active and dynamic all year round.
The old town of Annecy with its traboules, alleys, alleys, hidden passages and tangle of houses are characteristic. These different passages, even if they are sometimes dark, delight visitors and are used daily by the inhabitants of Annecy. They make it easy, quick and dry to get from one point to another in the old town.

Situation
La ville occupe la partie nord du bassin de Sallanches, large plaine glaciaire traversée par l'Arve et bordée par le massif des Aravis, le massif du Mont-Blanc et le massif du Faucigny. Ce vaste bassin aux versants peu raides contraste avec les hauts sommets qui l'entourent. Dédié principalement à l'agriculture et au tourisme (lacs et campings), il abrite aussi les communes de Domancy, Passy et Saint-Gervais-les-Bains.
La ville de Sallanches est dominée à l'ouest par une partie de la chaîne des Aravis, avec en particulier le sommet des Quatre Têtes et la Miaz.

Sallanches est une commune de la Haute Savoie composé de 130 km de sentiers balisés et entretenus avec des lacs, des rivières, et la magnifique cascade Arpenaz
Imaginez-vous en famille à Sallanches, entouré d’un environnement montagnard propice à la balade et à la détente en plein air.

LA BASE DE LOISIRS DES ILETTES est composé de trois Lacs.
Ils ont été créés en 1977 :
En 1976 s’est tenue une réunion entre Sallanches et Saint-Martin pour l’aménagement du Lac des Ilettes.
Ce 1er lac il mesure 242 m de long.
Tranquillité assurée. L'île située au milieu du lac étant une réserve de chasse, vous aurez tout loisir d'observer colverts et lapins de garenne en attendant que le poisson morde à l'hameçon !
2ème lac des Ilettes est destiné à la baignade et la farniente (baignade surveillée en Juillet - Août). Il mesure 450 m de long.
- De nombreux équipements sont prévus pour les loisirs et le bien-être : terrains de volley et de boules, parcours santé, table de ping-pong.
Il y a des aires de piques niques et un restauration buvette ouvert en été.
3 Lac: Spots de la Haute-Savoie, pour la pratique de la planche à voile.
- 515 m de long
- au bout de ce 3ème lac, une cabane d'observation des oiseaux d'eau est à la disposition des visiteurs.
Cette rivière que vous longerez s’appelle l'Arve et à une longueur de 108 km : L'Arve est une rivière des Alpes qui prend sa source dans le massif du Mont-Blanc. C'est un affluent de rive gauche du Rhône qu'il rejoint à Genève.
La cascade de l'Arpenaz se situe sur le flanc occidentale du massif du Faucigny, composante du massif du Giffre, à quelques kilomètres au nord de Sallanches. Elle comporte un saut majeur de 270 m de haut suivi par deux sauts de plus faible importance à sa base.

A mountain village in the French Alps, it is also popular as a ski resort. Combloux is located 4 km (2.5 mi) from Megève and 30 km (19 mi) from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.
In winter, Combloux is a skiing resort. It shares its skiing area with Megève, Saint-Gervais, Les Contamines, and La Giettaz, as a part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc area which gives it a total of 445 km of skiable pistes.

Mont Blanc over Chamonix France: Things to See & Walking Tour amidst Covid! P3/4
Here’s the charming Mont Blanc over the Chamonix town in France. At noontime, the mountain is more visible from the town center while we were busy roaming around and taking videos or photos of some of its interesting monuments.
This video is the third part of our Chamonix - Mont-Blanc trip last 24th of October 2020, as part of my 40th Birthday trip. I’m very lucky that travel agencies like the EryTravel had this trip amidst Covid19, just a week before Barcelona is imposing stricter restrictions on mobility to slow the infections.

A Small Tour at Argentière France, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Commune
Hello everyone,
In this video, I was in Argentière, in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Commune, France. I was walking along the path to Petit Balcon Nord. You will see the beautiful landscape of the forest, the nature, the mountains with the glacier. It's magnified.
Unfortunately, I didn't film the whole Argentière village. I'm sorry.
