To many, St Rémy de Provence represents the ideal provençal village, and it may very well be. There's a definite southern flavor there. Follow Véro as she explores part of the historic heart of town on a beautiful Saturday morning in the fall.

[EN] Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is located in western Provence, about 20 km north-east of Arles and in the same distance south of Avignon. Nostradamus was born in this town. The famous painter Vincent Van Gogh was treated here in a psychiatric clinic in Saint-Paul de Mausole, and there he painted many of his paintings. Outside the city there are also remains of the ancient Roman town of Glanum.

Pour cette nouvelle vidéo en banlieue Parisienne, Je vous emmène en balade sur la deuxième ligne la plus fréquenté d'Ile de France avec ses quelques 983 000 voyageurs pas jours.
Trait de liaison entre les banlieues sud et nord, cette ligne relie de nombreux lieux importants, notamment les Aéroports d'Orly (via OrlyVal) et Charles de Gaulle au nord.
Co-exploité par la RATP au sud et SNCF au nord, cette lignes emprunte le fameux goulet d'étrangement entre Châtelet et Gare du Nord, qui voit passer pas moins de 32 trains par heures dans chaque sens.
Vous ferez le trajet à bord d'un Mi79, désormais le plus ancien matériel d'Ile de France, mais toujours aussi performant et taillé pour le transit de masse.

For this new video in the Parisian suburbs, I take you on a walk on the second busiest line of Ile de France with its some 983,000 travelers per day.
A link between the southern and northern suburbs, this line connects many important places, including Orly Airports (via OrlyVal) and Charles de Gaulle to the north.
Co-operated by RATP to the south and SNCF to the north, this line takes the famous goulet d'étrangement between Châtelet and Gare du Nord, which sees no less than 32 trains per hour in each direction.
You will make the journey aboard a Mi79, now the oldest equipment in Ile de France, but still as efficient and made for mass transit.

La vallée de Chevreuse, c'est mon petit coin de paradis à moi. J'habite à deux pas de cet écrin de verdure, et il faut dire que j'adore ! La vallée de Chevreuse, situé dans les Yvelines, c'est de la nature, de la faune, flore, de magnifiques paysages, de la gastronomie et du patrimoine !
C'est grâce à un blog trip de deux jours, organisé par Yvelines Tourisme et le Parc Naturel Régional de la Vallée de Chevreuse, que j'ai pu redécouvrir ces coins que j'aime tant.
Au programme : une balade de plusieurs kilomètres en VAE, la visite du domaine de Dampierre, la fabrication d'un sirop à l'ananas et au gingembre, la visite de l'abbaye des Vaux de Cernay et du Petit Moulin de l'Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay. Bref, que des endroits que j'adore ! Et vous, vous connaissez ces endroits ?

Marche nocturne des Createurs Saint Rémy de Provence
Tous les mardis soir du 27 juin au 12 septembre 2017 de 19h00 à 23:30
(Place de la Mairie et Avenue de la Résistance)
Ce marché se déroule au cœur du centre ancien, sur la place de la Mairie et l'Avenue de la résistance.
Seul les véritables créateurs, artistes ou artisans sont acceptés. Ils présentent des œuvres de peinture, sculpture, mode, accessoires, décoration ou même de produits alimentaires originaux.
Ce marché du mardi soir est devenu un véritable succès tout au long de l'été, on peut surtout constater la grande originalité de la plupart des exposants. Ces soirées permettent aussi de flâner dans les petites rues du centre ancien de Saint Rémy de Provence et de découvrir les nombreuses boutiques et galeries d'art qui restent ouvertes le soir à cette occasion.

One of two van-tours during our week in Aix-en-Provence. The parts of Saint-Remy we enjoyed looked interesting but were, to my eyes at least, simply slices of a French suburb. Avignon itself, though, struck a more awed chord in my psyche. The Papacy simply took a hundred-year long sabbatical in this non-Rome location. Safety of the pontiffs was more or less assured. Also assured however, was the inevitable plurality of Church authority that emerged. Which did much, I think, to furnish traction for the coming Reformers' influence across Europe. And I must admit, it did my heart good to imagine these unimaginably wealthy Popes having to huddle in comparative poverty within these rude battlements. Rejoicing in misfortune? I prefer to think of this as enjoying the enforced conformity to the lifestyle of Saint Peter. Lifestyle of Jesus, for that matter.
Paris France travel tips (Aug 10 2015), part 1
Here's some sightseeing tour guide advice when travelling alone (solo).
With four days off from work, I hopped onto the first flight to Paris the next day.
This is the first episode of my attempt to revisit my favorite places in Paris, France in 2 days.
It's amazing how little Paris has changed since my last visit seven years ago.
Some travel tips :
1. Because I'm travelling as a non-revenue passenger, I always wait until I arrive before I book my hotel (using the free airport Wi-Fi).
2. Remember that U.S. credit cards don't always work in Europe, so use cash for daily transactions.
3. To avoid theft, wear a money belt containing your essentials : Passport, credit cards, cash and your return plane ticket home.
4. Use the Tourist Information booth at the airport (terminal 1, usually no lines) !
Buy yourself a Paris Museum Pass to skip the many ticket buying lines in Paris (although the Museum Pass excludes the Eiffel Tower).
5. Buy a Paris Visite day pass for zones 1-3 or buy a 10 ticket carnet (which is cheaper) to get around Paris.
6. For transportation, I recommend taking the RER B train into Paris versus the Roissy bus. Trains are almost always faster because they aren't slowed down by traffic and yet have more stops to choose from.
The Roissy bus only makes one stop in the city, at Place de l'Opera.
