10 things to do in Paris (NO EIFFEL TOWER. NO SACRE COEUR. NO NOTRE DAME)

Without the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame, what is there to do in Paris? Including a few less touristy locations, here are 10 things to do in Paris in 2019.

1 - Place de la Concorde.
The largest square in Paris, and most likely a location you'll pass through regularly during your visit.

2 - Arc de Triomphe.
The views from the top are my favourite of the whole city. A dedicated video for the Arc de Triomphe:

3 - Disney
Although I love Paris, it was nice to step back from the hustle and bustle, and enjoy a bit of magic. A playlist with a tour around Disney, the riverboat ride I mention in this video, plus both disney parades:

4 - Louvre museum
The Louvre museum is huge. You really need several visits in order to enjoy it properly, especially if you're interested in history and art in general. If you have specific interests don't forget to download the map. I'll add the link to the end of this list. Dedicated video exploring the Louvre

5 - St. Jacque's Tower / St. James's Tower
This is a nice, small area tucked away in plain sight. Surrounded by trees and a small garden it makes a great place for a quick picnic and to rest your feel during a busy day of sight seeing.

6 - Choco story Paris
This was a nice little 'something different' to do. Although we are tourists, and other people there were tourists, it doesn't strike me as a traditional touristy thing to do. It was nice and quiet during our visit.

7 - Musee d'Orsay
The musee d'Orsay was joint first of my favourite museums in Paris. Its the perfect size. The building is beautiful and acts as an exhibit in its self. A dedicated video to this beautiful museum:

8 - Seine River Cruise
Although I enjoyed the cruise, its certainly something you want to plan for a warmer day. Enjoy the full tour here:

9 - Musee l'Orangerie
The other 'joint first' favourite museum in Paris due to its size, and dedication to impressionist art, my personal preference. If you can spare just one hour you won't regret dedicating it to the l'Orangerie museum. Take a closer look in this video:

10 - Enjoy a walk around this beautiful city with no end destination in mind. You'll be amazed at all the fantastic little pockets of interest you find, as well as all the great cafes, bars, restaurants and clulbs.

As stated in the video here is the map for the Louvre museum:

If you're struggling to decide which museum to visit, why not check out this video where I compare the Louvre, d'Orsay, and l'Orangerie:

I also have many other Paris based videos on my channel so in case you'd like to check it out here is the link:

Paris, France - Paris Métro - Rue Saint Maur (2018)

Rue Saint-Maur is a station on Paris Métro Line 3. The station opened on 19 October 1904 as part of the first section of line 3 between Père Lachaise and Villiers.

The Rue Saint-Maur is named after Saint Maurus, a disciple of Saint Benedict of Nursia, who is said to have saved Saint Placid from drowning. Until the early years of the 21st century the station was called Saint-Maur, but its name was changed to avoid confusion with stations on RER line A in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in the southeastern suburbs of Paris.

The Paris Métro, short for Métropolitain (French: Métro de Paris), is a rapid transit system in the Paris metropolitan area. A symbol of the city, it is known for its density within the city limits and its uniform architecture, influenced by Art Nouveau. It is mostly underground and 214 kilometres (133 mi) long. It has 303 stations, of which 62 have transfers between lines. There are 16 lines, numbered 1 to 14 with two lines, 3bis and 7bis, which are named because they started out as branches of lines 3 and 7; later they officially became separate lines; the Metro is still numbered as if these lines were absent. Lines are identified on maps by number and colour, and direction of travel is indicated by the terminus.

It is the second busiest subway system in Europe, after the Moscow Metro, and the tenth-busiest in the world. It carried 1.520 billion passengers in 2015, 4.16 million passengers a day, which amounts to 20% of the overall traffic in Paris. It is one of the densest metro systems in the world, with 245 stations within the 86.9 km2 (34 sq mi) of the city of Paris. Châtelet – Les Halles, with 5 Métro lines and three RER commuter rail lines, is the world's largest metro (subway) station. In 2016, it has been ranked as the best public transport system in the world by the ITDP with all Parisians having an easy access to rapid transportation, ahead of 26 other international cities (including London and New York City). However, the system has generally poor handicapped-accessibility, because most stations were built well before this became a consideration.

The first line opened without ceremony on 19 July 1900, during the World's Fair (Exposition Universelle). The system expanded quickly until the First World War and the core was complete by the 1920s. Extensions into suburbs and Line 11 were built in the 1930s. The network reached saturation after World War II with new trains to allow higher traffic, but further improvements have been limited by the design of the network and in particular the short distances between stations. Besides the Métro, downtown Paris and its urban area are served by the RER developed from the 1960s, several tramway lines, Transilien suburban trains and two VAL lines, serving Charles De Gaulle and Orly airports. In the late 1990s, the automated line 14 was built to relieve RER line A.

Madeira FOOD TOUR 2024 in FUNCHAL ???????? The BEST Steak Sandwich

FUNCHAL, MADEIRA - Welcome to Funchal, the little known capital of Madeira, Europe's most breathtaking island. Funchal is packed with history, beautiful architecture, vibrant bars and best of all, delicious food. In this video I will give you a walking tour of this amazing city and show you some of the BEST food and places to eat in Funchal. The food on Madeira Island is so good and I cannot wait to show you. I begin the day with breakfast and coffee from a cool little cafe. I try a couple of local pastries, a queijada (sweet cream cheese pastry) and a pão de deus (a sweet sticky brioche).
Next, I head to the fish market, stopping off on the way to try a famous Madeiran spiced honey cake which has been made the same way since 1893.
After wandering the fish market and strolling through the Old Town of Funchal which is filled with street art, the temptation for grilled fresh fish became too much. I found myself a little snack bar to try some fish from the market. I spotted the chef looking through the fish market, so I knew the fish was fresh and it did not disappoint, it is the best place for grilled fish in Funchal.
After a little more sightseeing I stopped off to try the traditional prego (steak sandwich). Crispy stone-baked bread, garlic butter, juicy steak and salad, the best prego I had tried in Funchal.
Finally, I needed something sweet, I visited an artisan chocolate shop who make handmade chocolates and ice cream, inspired by Madeira. This was simply the best ice cream in Funchal, maybe even ever.

Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy my tour of this gorgeous city, showing you some of the best things to do and best places to eat in Funchal. Hopefully it gives you an appetite for Portuguese food.
