Brazil (South-America) Vacation Travel Video Guide

✱ 59/874 Hotels in Brazil - Lowest Price Guarantee ►

Travel video about destination Brazil.
Brazil is a country of both the superlative and also amazing contrast, with dynamic metropolises, cultural centres and untouched nature. It is the largest country on the South American Continent. We begin our journey in Rio De Janeiro, the secret capital of Brazil, a veritable firework display of unashamed joie de vivre, football, samba and religion. The focal point of today’s Rio is the monumental glass cone of the Catedral Metropolitana that measures eighty metres high and looks like a Mexican pyramid. The Rua Do Ouvidor, with its elegant old buildings and splendid shops, is a reminder of the city’s historical and commercial importance. Portuguese settlers founded the city and sugar cane and gold made Rio’s colonial rulers extremely rich. In former times the coastal towns were protected by fortresses and canons. Paraty was one of those romantic locations, south of Rio on the Costa Verde, a gem dating back to Brazil’s colonial times. Around five hundred kilometres north of Rio and deep within the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, is a most remarkable place. Ouro Preto was discovered at the end of the seventeenth century by Portuguese gold prospectors who discovered ‘black gold’ that changed colour due to its iron content. São Paulo is one of the mega cities of the twenty first century and with a population of twenty million it is the economic heart of Brazil. The railway helped to transport cotton and later coffee, and its large station, with British-designed clock tower, became an important symbol. Brazil is synonymous with sunshine, samba and exotic nature, a dream destination full of both adventure and constant fun!

Porto Alegre, Rio Grande Do Sul (Brazilians Here Say This Is Brazil's Europe)

PORT ALEGRE is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Its population of 1,488,252 inhabitants (2020) makes it the twelfth most populous city in the country and the center of Brazil's fifth largest metropolitan area, with 4,405,760 inhabitants (2010). The city is the southernmost capital city of a Brazilian state.

Porto Alegre was founded in 1769 by Manuel Jorge Gomes de Sepúlveda, who used the pseudonym José Marcelino de Figueiredo to hide his identity; but the official date is 1772 with the act signed by immigrants from the Azores, Portugal.

The city lies on the eastern bank of the Guaíba Lake, where five rivers converge to form the Lagoa dos Patos, a giant freshwater lagoon navigable by even the largest of ships. This five-river junction has become an important alluvial port as well as a chief industrial and commercial center of Brazil.

In recent years, Porto Alegre hosted the World Social Forum, an initiative of several non-government organizations. The city became famous for being the first city that implemented participatory budgeting. The 9th Assembly of the World Council of Churches was held in Porto Alegre in 2006. Since 2000, Porto Alegre also hosts one of the world's largest free software events, called FISL.

The city was one of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, having previously been a venue for the 1950 FIFA World Cup.

In the middle of 2010s, Porto Alegre had a growing wave of violence, being ranked as 39th among the world's 50 most violent cities in 2017. Nevertheless, the number of violent crimes has been dropping steadily since 2018.

The official date of the foundation of the city of Porto Alegre is 26 March 1772 by Manuel Sepúlveda, when Freguesia de São Francisco do Porto dos Casais was created and changed a year later to Nossa Senhora da Madre de Deus de Porto Alegre. However, the village started in 1752, when 60 Azorean couples were brought over by the Treaty of Madrid in order to set up Missions at the Northeast Region of Rio Grande do Sul that was handed over to the Portuguese Crown in exchange for the Sacramento Colony located on the margin of the Plata River. Land demarcation took a long time and the Azoreans settled permanently at Porto de Viamão, which was the first name by which Porto Alegre went by.

Café dos Vimes, SÃO JORGE | Island Products | Azores Top 10 Things To Do

The only coffee plantation in Europe is located on the island of São Jorge, Azores, and has sufficient production to supply the plantation’s coffee shop called “Café Nunes”, in Fajã dos Vimes, where people from all around the world come to try the bold taste of the local expresso.

The plantation of Manuel Nunes is just behind his coffee shop and has between 350 and 400 plants. When he first bought the land 35 years ago, there were only half a dozen trees, and every year he has been able to increase the production by a small percentage.

Without revealing how much the annual production is, Manuel Nunes says it is enough for the cafes he sells in his establishment, located in one of the 70 “fajãs” of São Jorge, which is classified as a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco.

The São Jorge fajãs - are flat peninsulas that resulted from the accumulation of debris following earthquakes or lava flows from the volcanic eruptions. These lands have been prefeered over the past centuries for agriculture because of the unique microclimate

The coffee plants initially arrived in São Jorge by the hand of an emigrant from Brazil in the nineteenth century. The plants have thrived in the microclimate of the fajãs. Although there are plants in several fajãs, only Manuel Nunes has a plantation for production.

Walking in Sao Paulo part 1 2021 | Brasil ????????

Walking in Sao Paulo and exploring the city, part 1, 2021 (Santa Cecilia district, São Paulo Cathedral). São Paulo Cathedral area is not safe, be careful with your phone, documents, money and backpack, be focused.

São Paulo is the most populous city in Brazil, and is the capital of the state of São Paulo, the most populous and wealthiest Brazilian state, located in the country's Southeast Region. Listed by the GaWC as an alpha global city, São Paulo is the most populous city proper in the Americas, the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere, as well as the world's 4th largest city proper by population. Additionally, São Paulo is the largest Portuguese-speaking city in the world. It exerts strong international influences in commerce, finance, arts and entertainment.[7] The city's name honors the Apostle, Saint Paul of Tarsus. The city's metropolitan area, the Greater São Paulo, ranks as the most populous in Brazil and the 12th most populous on Earth. The process of conurbation between the metropolitan areas around the Greater São Paulo (Campinas, Santos, Jundiaí, Sorocaba and São José dos Campos) created the São Paulo Macrometropolis,[8] a megalopolis with more than 30 million inhabitants, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.[9] Source:

The São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral (Portuguese: Catedral Metropolitana de São Paulo), also known as the See Cathedral (Portuguese: Catedral da Sé), is the cathedral of the Roman
Catholic Archdiocese of São Paulo, Brazil. Its current and seventh Metropolitan Archbishop is Dom Odilo Pedro Cardinal Scherer, appointed by Pope Benedict XVI on March 21, 2007,[1]
and installed on April 29 of the same year. The existing cathedral's construction, in a Gothic revival style, began in 1913 and ended four decades later. It was ready for its dedication on the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the then humble villa of São Paulo by Chief or Cacique Tibiriçá and the Jesuit priests Manuel da Nóbrega and José de Anchieta. Despite its Renaissance-style dome, the São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral is considered by some to be the fourth largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the world. Source:

Hehehehe

WHAT THE BEACHES ARE LIKE IN BAHIA BRAZIL ???? (Travel Vlog)

In this vlog, we travel to the coast of Bahia in Northern Brazil to explore the best beaches, nature, and Bahia cuisine. Our first stop is Praha do Forte, known for its coconut palms, ecological preserves, and laid back beaches.

We visit Projeto Tamar, a non-profit ecological project is to protect sea turtles from extinction in the Brazilian coastline. At Projecto Tamar, we watch the sea turtle feeding exhibition and get up close and personal with the loggerhead turtles, an exceptionally large species of turtle that lives along the coast in Bahia. At lunch, we try the local seafood and Bahian cuisine which includes the fish stew called moqueca.
