Place des Vosges. Sous les arcades, une plaque indique simplement : Pavillon de la Reine. Il faut franchir un porche voûté et une grille en fer avant de découvrir ce 5-étoiles, bijou caché de l’hôtellerie parisienne haut de gamme. Devant ce bâtiment aux murs couverts de plantes grimpantes, la cour arborée sert d’écrin, en saison, au restaurant Anne. Une fois passée la porte d’entrée, deux salons s’ouvrent de part et d’autre. Rideaux en velours et tapisseries aux teintes ocre ou rouges, moquette noire aux motifs géo métriques, tableaux évoquant le XVIIe siècle de la reine Anne d’Autriche, fauteuils bigarrés ou gris : le ton décoratif est donné, avec beaucoup d’élégance et de créativité. Les 56 chambres et suites, toutes différentes, déclinent ces tendances. En duplex, ouvrant sur une cour ou nichées sous les toits, elles donnent le sentiment d’être dans « son » appartement parisien. La table étoilée (depuis 2019) est l’autre bel atout du lieu. Sa carte, courte et audacieuse, rend hommage aux beaux produits: thon, petits pois, fraises, stracciatella et amandes ; turbot tempura, ratatouille à l’espuma d’oignons caramélisés et sauce vierge et des notes sucrées canailles, à l’image du riz au lait, cerises au kirsch et parfait glacé au saké. Place des Vosges. Under the arcades’ arches a simple plaque indicates the entryway to the Pavillon de la Reine. Tucked away behind a vaulted entry and through an iron gate this hidden five-star Parisian jewel’s vine-covered walls and a tree-lined courtyard are the setting for restaurant Anne. Upon entering the hotel, two lounges open on either side of the front door. Velvet curtains and tapestries in ocher and red hues, black carpets with geometric patterns and paintings evoke the 17th century of Queen Anne of Austria: a decorative tone that is defined with elegance and creativity. All of the hotel’s 56 unique rooms and suites follow this style. Each duplex, whether opening onto a courtyard or nestling under the roof, conveys the feeling of being in your very own Parisian apartment. The Michelin starred table offers a daring menu
celebrating the finest products: turbot tempura with ratatouille and caramelized onion foam followed by scrumptious sweet delights, like rice pudding with kirsch cherry and iced sake parfait. Ground floor

To the left a pair of glass doors opens to the first reception room (17 sq m) with tiled floor, exposed beam ceiling, fireplace with closed foyer and patio doors to the south-facing front garden. From here an archway leads through to the dining room (19 sq m) with tiled floor, high ceiling and glazed doors to the conservatory. To the right of the dining room (open-plan to it) a few steps lead down to the second reception area (14 sq m) with tiled floor and a closed-foyer fire place.

To the left of the dining room a door opens to the kitchen / breakfast room (21 sq m) with tiled floor, a defined kitchen area with fitted units and a dining / breakfast area. There is one door from the kitchen that opens back into the main entrance hall and a second door that opens to a paved terrace to the rear of the house. To the rear of the breakfast room and the dining room is a long conservatory with fine views.

To the left of the entrance hall a corridor passes by a WC and leads on to two bedrooms (15 sq m and 11.5 sq m) - the larger room having a small ensuite shower room and patio doors to the front garden. Also off the corridor is a bathroom (bath, wash-basin and WC).

First floor

A staircase rises from the entrance hall to a small first floor landing, off which are two bedrooms (17 sq m and 9.5 sq m) as well as a shower room (shower, wash-basin and WC).

Lower ground floor

A second flight of stairs leads down from the entrance hall to a hallway off which are a bedroom (11.5 sq m) and a shower room (shower, wash-basin and WC). At the end of the hallway a door opens to a very large room (43 sq m - currently used as an art / hobby room) with tiled floor and patio door to the rear garden. To the rear of the room, separated from it by sliding doors, is another room (20 sq m - currently used as a bedroom).

Another door from the hallway opens to the utility room, off which is another shower room (with WC). Next to this a door opens to the garage with parking area and workshop area.

Exterior

The property sits on a sloping plot of 5727 sq m. To the front of the house is a delightfully landscaped garden area, next to which is the sectioned-off swimming pool area with its terrace.

To the side of the house is a gravelled parking area. To the rear, the garden descends in terraces to the vineyards in the river valley below. The majority of this area is woodland.
