Day Trip From Paris | Champagne Tasting In Reims

If you have free time while in Paris and enjoy the sparkling beverage of Champagne, you must set some time aside for a day and make the day trip to Reims. A smaller city with a lot of history, Reims has Champagne houses everywhere over chalk caves filled with aging bubbly. This was our second trip to Champagne, our first being to Epernay, the other city in the region. It never disappoints and we learned so much on this trip. Highly recommended and it's a quick 47 minute train ride from Paris' East Station.

About Us:
We have been married since 2009 and reside near Pittsburgh, PA. Even before we were married, we loved planning trips and traveling to cool destinations. It has now become our passion and we love diving into new foreign cultures, food, and attractions. We started making home DVDs for our own keepsake many years ago. It was a great way to preserve memories and re-live those memories whenever we wanted. We eventually found that uploaded these videos to YouTube made a lot of sense. We could share them with family and friends across the country in real time, on smart TVs, Ipads, and smart phones. That eventually led to us creating the “Matt n Rach” YouTube Channel. Our focus now is not only to preserve our memories, but to include educational and useful information for our viewers as well.

We hope you enjoy our content and please leave a comment if you liked our video or have some something you’d like to share. We love hearing from our viewers!!

Eisenbahnmuseum AJECTA- Longueville/F 2022-07-29

Translation see below
(Musik: Royalty free music – no copywrite music)
In Frankreich besuchen wir auch ein interessantes Eisenbahnmuseum. Vom Bahnhof Longueville läuft man ca. 700 m bis zum „Living Railway Museum – Ajecta“. Vom Gare de L`est in Paris fährt stündlich ein Zug her.
Vom 6. - 8. Mai 2023 findet wieder ein Fest statt.
In France we also visit an interesting railway museum. From the Longueville train station, you walk about 700 m to the Living Railway Museum - Ajecta. There is a train every hour from Paris Gare de L'est. Here, too, there are many vehicles standing around that you think have been saved from the scrap press. A friendly gentleman arrives on time and opens the engine shed doors. Unfortunately, there is a general problem in France:
He can only speak french, we german and english and a few words of french. He tries to make himself understood with the translator on his smartphone.
In any case, I find it very pleasant when 9 people can move freely in the museum. If you want to read details about the locomotives, please go to the museum's website or look it up on Wikipedia. The films of events in the museum here on YouTube are also informative. On May 6th - 8th, 2023 there will be another festival.

Bikepacking France North to South Day 4: Épernay to Romilly sur Seine

Hi and welcome to this new series where I'll attempt to ride from the North east of France to the Spanish border in the south. In this fourth episode I'll be riding from Épernay to Romilly sur Seine.
So today a hilly stage once again. First a few stops down memory lane though.
The general plan is to go to the Champagne region and then head south towards the Bourgogne and onwards. I'm using my gravel bike, the Rondo Ruut ST for this trip as it has many luggage options and nice fat tyres. This one is really a trip down memory lane for me, trying to connect many places i've been before in the past. Hope you like it and as always, enjoy your rides and stay safe out there !
Next Up: Episode 5: Romilly sur Seine to Auxerre

Hi and welcome to this new series where I'll attempt to ride from the North east of France to the Spanish border in the south. In this fifth episode I'll be riding from Romilly sur Seine to Auxerre.
So today a nice route over mostly rural country roads. Though the ascension meters seem to indicate a rather easy day out, there were quiete a few tough moments going up the hills all day long.
I'm using my gravel bike, the Rondo Ruut ST for this trip as it has many luggage options and nice fat tyres. This one is really a trip down memory lane for me, trying to connect many places i've been before in the past. Hope you like it and as always, enjoy your rides and stay safe out there !
nb: if you think I was complaining too much about the heat and all: yup, you're right ;-)

Bikepacking France from North to South Day 8: Dijon to Malay

Hi and welcome to this new series where I'll attempt to ride from the North east of France to the Spanish border in the south. In this eigth episode I'll be riding from Dijon to Malay, a little village near Cluny.
So today a normal day I would say, with close to a thousand altitude meters and 112 kilometers of riding in total.
In this episode I was very close to having my Gopro destroyed, other than that, yet another smashing day on the bike. Hope you like it.

First Day in Strasbourg

Previous video:

Although I have already been in Strasbourg for a while (and Europe even longer..) I have only just started vlogging. I wanted to give a quick rundown of my every day life so it's a bit of a chatty video, but I had a lot to catch up on! I won't be vlogging every single day in Strasbourg (because frankly sitting in the Syracuse Center in between classes isn't exciting content) but I am recording all of my weekend getaways and trips, so expect those videos to be coming soon.

PS. The internet in my apartment's upload speed is currently 0.30Mbps (if you don't speak tech, it means that it takes 12 hours—give or take a few— to upload videos to YouTube) so don't expect videos too frequently.

Subscribe to be notified when I upload more!

Hi and welcome to this new series where I'll attempt to ride from the North east of France to the Spanish border in the south. In this first episode I'll be riding from Colmar in the Alsace to Vittel. Stunning weather and beautiful roads made for a very good start of the trip.
The plan is to go to the Champagne region and then head south towards the Bourgogne and onwards. I'm using my gravel bike, the Rondo Ruut St for this trip as it has many luggage options and nice fat tyres. This one is really a trip down memory lane for me, trying to connect many places i've been before in the past. Hope you like it and as always, enjoy your rides and stay safe out there !
