Efteling, also known as Dutch Disneyland is an amusement park based on old European fairytales! (think Brother's Grimm meets Disney!)
We've been to most of the Disney parks (10/12! - California, Florida, Paris, & Tokyo) so we're going to be giving some *very* honest opinions & comparisons on Efteling vs Disneyland!
We had some audio issues while getting to Tilburg and navigating transit. So here is how to get to Efteling by public transit! (Or at least how we did it!)
-We stayed in a nearby town called Tilburg and caught the 300 bus line at the main bus/train station. The bus terminal is just out of the central station - you wont miss it! Just get off at the Efteling stop and follow the crowd! :)

Dongen - An inconspicuous city with beautiful nature
Dongen is a municipality and a village in the southern Netherlands. In the past it was home to a profitable leather industry, to which a few old shoe factories in the town's older sections still testify. The town is formed near a small river called Donge (about ten feet across), the water of which was used extensively for the leather industry. The Aerts Automobile was built here in 1899. The village has almost 24,000 inhabitants and has an industrial character.

Tulips growth and Dutch prosperity - The Netherlands from above
What opportunities does our prosperity offer? The Netherlands know the highest density of holiday parks in the world. It is a portrayal of our prosperity and endless redevelopment resulting in leisure. But can we also achieve growth by thinking beyond the products? This seems to work out in waste management. Waste streams and even our faeces is converted into energy. In fact, we are going back to an old phenomenon: for example, the annual stretcher race from Workum to the Bulbs region relieves the former ship transport from manure from Friesland, which has been used for centuries to grow bulbs on the poor soil in the Bollen Region. In order to bring the bulbs in perfect condition, they need this manure, but also the correct groundwater level is also important. One man, the crane man, is busy on a daily basis, making sure to maintain a perfect balance.
The Netherlands from above shows us a country from a spectacular perspective. From the sky it is possible to see how the Netherlands changes through the seasons, and how in parallel they form the determining moments of our own life cycle. Through data visuals, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, the second series of the Netherlands from above outlines an image of how time has changed our country and how we move in it. The way we live from day to day, and from generation to generation in this country reflects our resilient mentality. The Netherlands from above season 2 tells us the story of seeing and taking opportunities, falling and rising up again, reinventing the wheel again and again. Where the first series was an ode to the makeable Netherlands, this second series is an ode to our resilience.

???????? Maastricht is a city and a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It is the capital and largest city of the province of Limburg. Maastricht is located on both sides of the Meuse (Dutch: Maas), at the point where the Jeker joins it. Mount Saint Peter (Sint-Pietersberg) is largely situated within the city's municipal borders. Maastricht is adjacent to the border with Belgium and is part of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, an international metropolis with a population of about 3.9 million, which includes the nearby German and Belgian cities of Aachen, Liège and Hasselt.
Maastricht developed from a Roman settlement (Trajectum ad Mosam) to a medieval river trade and religious centre. In the 16th century it became a garrison town and in the 19th century an early industrial centre.[11] Today, the city is a thriving cultural and regional hub. It became well known through the Maastricht Treaty and as the birthplace of the euro.[12] Maastricht has 1677 national heritage buildings (rijksmonumenten), the second highest number in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam. The city is visited by tourists for shopping and recreation, and has a large international student population.

Maastricht is ontstaan bij een doorwaadbare plaats in de rivier de Maas, waaraan het zijn naam te danken heeft (Maastricht = Mosa Trajectum = doortocht door de Maas). Maastricht is al tweeduizend jaar lang ononderbroken bewoond. De stad heeft een lange en veelbewogen geschiedenis, waarvan de talrijke historische gebouwen en kunstschatten in kerken en musea getuigen.
