Warsaw Travel Guide - Poland Magical Experience

Warsaw Travel Guide - Poland Magical Experience

Warsaw (Polish: Warszawa) is the capital of Poland and, with 1.7 million inhabitants, its largest city. It is located on the Vistula River (Polish: Wisła), roughly equidistant (350 km, 217 mi) from both the Baltic Sea (Bałtyk) in the north and the Carpathian Mountains (Karpaty) in the south. The medieval capital of Poland was the southern city of Krakow, but Warsaw has been the capital of the country since 1596, and has grown to become Poland's largest city and the nation's urban and commercial center. Completely destroyed by the Nazis during World War II, the city lifted itself from the ashes. Today, almost every building in Warsaw dates to the postwar era — with what little remains of the old structures being confined largely to the restored districts of Stare Miasto (the 'old city') and Nowe Miasto ('new city'), as well as selected monuments and cemeteries, plus midwar modernist districts Ochota and Żoliborz.

Districts of Warsaw :

Centrum (Śródmieście, Wola, Mokotów, Żoliborz, Ochota, Praga Północ, Praga Południe)
The Centrum area, which also comprises the famous Warsaw Old Town. It's made up of six diverse districts and is a mixture of industrial areas and prestigious residential neighborhoods. It will be here that most travelers will spend their time in Warsaw, as most major attractions and hotels are primarily located in Śródmieście, Wola, and Mokotów.

Northern Warsaw (Bielany, Białołęka)

Western Warsaw (Bemowo, Włochy, Ursus)

Eastern Warsaw (Targówek, Rembertów, Wawer, and Wesoła)

Southern Warsaw (Ursynów, Wilanów)

The southern terminal of the Royal Route, Wilanów is home to the Wilanów Palace. Ursynów is home to the historic Natolin park and nature reserve, which hosts the College of Europe Natolin in the Potocki Palace. The area saw intense activity on the part of the Polish Home Army during the Warsaw Uprising.

Historically, the right bank was the first one to become populated, during the 9th or 10th century. However, the present city's central district, called Śródmieście lies on the left bank. The Old Town is fully contained within the borders of the city center. The central point of the city is located at the intersection of Al. Jerozolimskie and ul. Marszałkowska, near the entrance to the Metro Centrum subway station. It is good to know that the Palace of Culture is a landmark visible from almost any location in Warsaw. Should you ever get lost in the city, just walk toward the Palace of Culture and Science. The quarter delimited by Al. Jerozolimskie, ul. Marszałkowska, al. Jana Pawła II, and ul. Świętokrzyska, contains Dworzec Centralny, the main railway station, and the Palace of Culture and Science.

The public transport system in Warsaw is generally well-developed, with some 200 bus routes and 30 tram lines. The route descriptions on the tram stops are easy to follow and the tickets are cheap. It can be painfully slow, however, to travel between destinations far from the city center.

There are plenty of accomodation options in Warsaw at all budget levels. The best accomodation options are located in Śródmieście, Wola, and Mokotów. There are also many business travel hotels in Warsaw/Włochy, near the airport. If you are on a budget, do not assume that hostels are your only option.

Warszawa Wschodnia-Wien Hauptbahnhof I EC 103 ,,Polonia'' I EP09-015/380 010-9 I 21.09. 2019

Witam serdecznie wszystkich. Zapraszam zatem do obejrzenia filmu!

Hello everyone! So the time has come for the railway operation ,,Wiedeń, during which I recorded two films. The first of them is Warszawa Wsch.-Wien Hbf. The film was recorded from the EC 103,,Polonia train which on Saturday, September 21,2019.The train was driven by locomotives EP0-9-015 PKP IC on the Warszawa Wsch.-Bohumín section and 380-010-9 Škoda ČD on the Bohumin-Wien Hbf section. I will tell you immediately-the second film from the railway operation ,,Vienna is Wien Hbf.-Kraków Gł. Such and no other arrangement on the route caused personal reasons, because I had to take someone on the a specific route who means a lot to me. The second reason for arranging the route in this waz was that I hade to be home on Sunday evening, because I work from Monday to Friday. I invite you to watch the movie!

Hallo allerseits!

Around Grojec - Poland to Hungary by camper van part seven

I bought this camper van in January 2011 having taken a very long time to choose what I wanted as well as needing a lot of time for something to become available. However I am very happy with it. Here I give some advice based on my experience and what people have told me about choosing a camper van. In other videos I will explain some other aspects of camper van life.

Here I present a journey in May 2012 from Warsaw in Poland to Eger in Hungary. As I travel I explain some of the things I see from the point of view of a British business person, economist, historian and camper van fan!

My channel on you tube : is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced over 2,100 original films.

My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects.

Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!

I am very fortunate that I can spend a large part of my life travelling, thanks to the business I chose to run which allows me to do this. There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.

Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!

Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Tram route 36 warsaw - Metro Marymount to Pl Narutowwicza 10x speed in 3 minutes 40

The route of the line 36 – served by historic trams 13N “sausages” and 105N “aquariums” – runs through the very center to the green Żoliborz district. The vicinity of Plac Narutowicza (Narutowicza Square) is a part of Ochota, in which pre-war buildings have survived – with the neo-Romanesque church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the parish of St. Jakub the Apostle, the monumental building of the Student House “Dormitory” or residential buildings along Filtrowa Street. The tram will pass the Filter Station and the building of the Supreme Audit Office (in the 1930s the seat of the voivodeship office), the Warsaw University of Technology, Plac Zbawiciela (Zbawiciela Square), and will pass through MDM and Plac Bankowy (Bankowy Square). In Żoliborz, the route leads through the green (literally, because there is a grassy track) Adama Mickiewicza Street and further, behind the Plac Wilsona (T.W. Wilson Square), Juliusza Słowackiego Street to the Marymont loop, from where you can go for a walk to the Kaskada Park.

From Warsaw to Prague by Train - Poland/Czech Republik 4K Travel Channel

When the last guests in the skyscraper opposite to our apartment leave the party with the rising sun, we pack our suitcases to leave Warsaw again. Of course, there would have been many more sights that would have been worth visiting. Our next destination is Prague in the Czech Republic.
We ordered tickets from Flixbus via the Internet. A map where the central station was marked as a departure station was enclosed in the confirmation e-mail. So we go to the central station which is not far away from our accommodation. There we try to find out where the bus leaves.
Already after a short time, the whole thing develops into an odyssey, as nobody knows where the station is. So one sends us from one end to the next and even another parallel street. Without success! When we reach the departure time, it is clear to us that we now need a plan B. Since we are at the station, it is obvious to ask for a train. There is one that is much more expensive than the bus that we have already paid for. But worse is that we have to wait about 5 hours and will arrive in Prague only after dark. Our mood hits rock bottom!
We spend a part of the waiting time in the shopping center opposite.
While waiting, we have again plenty of time to inspect the Flixbus ticket. There we see that there is an address of the bus stop. It is not really noticeable, and one can easily overlook it. The bus departs from the south side of the station, opposite the tram stop.
It was our mistake but sometimes things go wrong. When we finally sit on the train, we quickly forget the incident.
The train leaves the city area fast and we reach the rural surrounding countryside. Arable land and pastures alternate with forests and bushes. It is a beautiful landscape but very flat, without considerable elevations.
We drive south. Only smaller villages interrupt the landscape from time to time. Some few industrial plants also lie next to the railway line.

Walking in Warsaw Poland | MIROWSKA HALL: Do You Recognize this Renowned Building?

Take a Tour of MIROWSKA HALL: Do You Recognize this Renowned Building?
Hale Mirowskie, or Mirów Market Halls, are two enclosed food halls and markets located in the Mirów district of Warsaw, Poland.

Constructed between 1899 and 1902, it was Warsaw's first major food hall complex and also the city's largest market. The buildings were partially destroyed during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and restored to its original function as a market in the 1950s and 1960s.

Warsaw Work Hours on Miodowa Street
Walk along Miodowa Street during working hours. In the 16th century Miodowa Street was famous for its gingerbread shops; hence its name. During the 18th century the Italian painter Bernardo Bellotto, better known as il Canaletto, the court painter for Poland's last king Stanisław August Poniatowski, painted with meticulous details the streets and architecture of 18th century Warsaw.

Pendolino, Warsaw to Kraków - PKP Express Intercity Premium (EIP) First Class Trip Report

Check out my Europe by Train Bright Trip guide:
I take Poland's headline train, the Pendolino from Warsaw to Kraków. These are marketed as Express Intercity Premium trains and I travelled in First Class. The fare? £12, or around $19!

Train travel in Poland is easy and accessible for tourists.

In the next few days, I'll be uploading a trip report of the other way to complete this journey - by air, on Poland's flag carrier, LOT.
