We got to check out the Sultan's massive palace, which is just mind-blowing with all its luxury. But it's not all about the glitz here; we also saw how the country takes care of its people, with free schooling and healthcare, which is pretty awesome. Our journey took us through bustling markets where everything's super cheap, beautiful mosques covered in gold, and even into the lives of the locals who invited us to share a meal with them. It was these moments that really made our trip special.
We also got a peek into the less flashy side of Brunei, visiting a water village and seeing how people live in houses on stilts right over the water. It felt like stepping into a whole different world. This video is all about showing you the real Brunei - from the fancy bits to the simple, everyday life of its people. We're here to share our experiences, the cool places we've seen, the delicious food we've tried, and the amazing people we've met along the way.

SOLO Journey Across Japan found the FISHIEST ramen in Aomori
I'm leaving Sapporo and heading south...stopping at Nagao Chuka Soba in Aomori for a quick SLURRRP of one of the most unique bowls of ramen. This is Day 4 of 9 of my Japanese Travel Series! From there, I ended up in Sendai finishing the night in a rather neat capsule hotel and having some Ox tongue...Sendai's most famous dish. A great way to spend my birthday if you ask me!

I mainly focus on creating videos about my travel to Cambodia and the Khmer life in the US. My goal is to document different Cambodian communities around the world. When I'm not traveling, I like to make vlogs about my daily life, which include enjoying good food with friends and family. I do have a background in tech so occasionally I'll review the gear that I'm using to make these videos.
A little about myself...
I came to the US with my father and mother at the age of 1, in the midst of the Khmer Rouge genocide. I lived for almost 40 years without ever returning to Cambodia. It was only recently that I made my first trip back to my homeland and since then, it has been my goal to learn about Cambodia's rich history, religion and document life of Cambodian people living there. In between my trips, I try to visit the different Khmer communities all over the US to see the differences and similarities between them. Please, I do apologize that my Cambodia language skills aren't the greatest, but I am trying to relearn!

The first castaway girl: Reikko Hori (5 of 6)
Images of the first 24 hours of Reikko Hori on her desert island. Last summer this 22 year old Japanese -probably- became the first voluntary castaway girl in history, surviving alone for 19 days.
Because of her nonexistent survival preparation in natural surroundings and her strange habits, which we noticed when we exchanged emails with her, we decided to stay on the island during her first 24 hours to be sure that she was psychologically prepared at least.
But at the same time, Reikko was going to become our first SOLO girl client and probably the first ever in the world, and we didn´t want to miss her first moments on the island.
HOW DID HER EXPERIENCE END?
Although the experience was very rewarding for Reikko, she suffered very much during her time on the island, especially during her first 10 days as she was cold and starving. However, she finally managed to catch some fish and even hunt a monitor lizard. She also got a cold as she didn´t know how to make a shelter, and It often rained at night.

This time, we will visit Nibutani Ainu Culture Museum where is one the important place for Ainu culture. We will interview with museum director to learn and experience intangible folk cultural properties of Ainu.
By experiencing the Ainu culture, we will be able to reaffirm awe and gratitude for nature and a world where diverse ethnic groups coexist.
【Hokkaido Nibutani Kotan】
Located in the middle of the Saru River, this area has the highest proportion of Ainu people in Hokkaido, with the majority of the population being Ainu.
There is a traditional Ainu house called Cise that has been restored to its original state, a craft shop that inherits the tradition, and a museum that displays materials.
Dr. Neil Gordon Munro, an English archaeologist and anthropologist, is also famous for moving to Nibutani to study the Ainu lifestyle.
In Hokkaido Nibutani Kotan, many Ainu artists are still engaged in creative activities in various fields such as crafts and fashion.

SAKE - A Quick Guide
Sake is widely known as Japan’s national drink. It is believed that Japan has been making sake in one form or another for over two thousand years.
Technically, sake just means “alcohol,” so any kind of beer, wine or liquor would be considered sake. What most people mean as, “Japanese Rice Wine” is actually called Nihonshu.
And although it’s referred to as “rice wine,” it’d probably be more accurate to say, “rice beer” because wine is made from fermenting fruit, while beer is made from fermenting grains.
When you warm sake, you need to warm in indirectly, through a separate container, like when melting chocolate. Different temperatures bring out different characteristics, so you can warm it to different degrees for a slightly different taste. Just make sure that you don’t warm it too quickly, and don’t allow it to get too hot.
Japan’s ancient technique of weaving and dyeing | WIDE
In Japan, Akiko weaves plants. Taught her craft by a Living National Treasure, she perpetuates an ancestral art on the island of Iriomote, in the south-west of the Japanese archipelago.
Her work features in the collections of designers like Issey Miyake as well as contemporary museums. Akiko and her husband only weave and dye the natural products of the forests on her island.
The paths of sun and moon influence her textiles. Her practice and work celebrate the communion between humans and the earth.

The first in the 2014-2015 series of M+ Matters, “Postwar Abstraction in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan”, charts the development of modernist abstraction from an East Asian perspective. The symposium highlights the various artistic concerns and explorations in the painting medium through abstraction and to consider new strategies of collecting and display using a comparative art history framework. Special attention is given to the relationship between ink art and abstract painting in the postwar period, to enrich and expand the existing discourse of ink art through a transnational lens.
