Train to Bulgaria's Countryside (Are We on the Same Planet?)
Did you know that you can find totally fake timetables to Bulgarian buses online? But what about the trains?
We decided to try it out. We went to the Varna railway station, bought a ticket to some 100km distant town (?) of Asparukhovo. And oh boy, it took us by surprise. And the train was just the beginning.
Let's walk the streets of this little town that looks like it was forgotten in time. Wait, is it a Stalin's picture on the doors? Can this car even start? They say there is a restaurant, but is it really? What do people here live like?
But do you know why we actually wanted to visit this little town? We need to leave it for a bit. There are some very beautiful rocky formations above the river. And if we do not die in the marshlands, you will see it too.

Ludogorets - a trip to Bulgaria's football fairy tale (Part I) ???????? | CC
After two years of pandemic and closed borders I am back to Eastern Europe for a favorite football trip. Quite unusual one I can say, to a small town of only 30 000 inhabitants! It is in Bulgaria and is called Razgrad. It is situated just two hours away from Golden Sands and three hours from Sunny Beach. By 2009 its team was dwelling in the lower divisions of a mediocre league. In 2014 it was not only a three times champion of the country but even playing alongside Liverpool, Real Madrid and Basel in the groups of the UEFA Champions League. Later they played even against Arsenal and Tottenham in the groups of the UEFA Europa League. In 2022 this unique club has already been champion 11 consecutive times and again on its way to the Champions League or the Europa League group stage.
Come with me on a journey to this exotic football destination. Can I make it to the town at all? What are the locals saying an will I ever manage to find a hotel for the night? Where is the region of Ludogorie located and how history has shaped the people of this region. Why Levski Sofia and CSKA Sofia fans and fan-boy journalists hate this team so much?
