Herentals, Bélgica | Ciudades más bonitas de Amberes
Herentals se encuentra en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica y es conocida como la capital histórica de lo que se conoce como de Kempen, una región natural muy importante que abarca principalmente el noreste de Bélgica y parte de los Países Bajos. La prosperidad medieval de Herentals está estrechamente relacionada con el florecimiento de la industria textil local. Durante su período de auge, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIV, los comerciantes de telas de Herentals cubrieron un área de ventas que se extendía por gran parte de Europa. Posteriormente, como a la mayoría de los poblados europeos, le siguieron años de guerras, destrucciones y pestes, lo que provocó un gran declive económico. De todas formas Herentals siempre tuvo fuerzas para resurgir y en particular hoy en día podemos encontrar aquí numerosos monumentos, vestigios de esos tiempos de gloria, como ser su impresionante Lonja de los Paños, sus puertas del siglo XV y una imponente iglesia.

The tunnel bike E34 highway fast to Belgium Stekene
Important by bike you go through the tunnel under the E34 location Stekene and you are quickly from the Netherlands Zeeland location Hulst to the Belgian cities or Kapellebrug border (Lots of traffic by bicycle) At this moment in Belgium, only essential displacements allowed. The bicycle offers more possibilities and fun adventures here in this region of Zeeland and this Belgian region.

Today's vlog is split into two parts, because of YouTube's obnoxious 10-minute limit obviously.
The first part shows the crossing of the Dutch-Belgian country border near Breda, between Hazeldonk (NL) and Meer (B).
The second part has a drive through the old Waaslandtunnel in Antwerp, also known as the Konijnepijp, connecting the West bank named Linkeroever to the East bank only half a mile away from the medieval center of downtown Antwerp, Belgium.
Of course I also cast my vote in the Dutch government elections.

Belgium Tightens Restrictions Amid Coronavirus Second Wave Other Countries Ban Travel To Belgium
New restrictions against Belgian travellers will ‘without a doubt’ be implemented
Several countries have issued new restrictions for travellers from Belgium and it’s expected that more countries will follow suit “without a doubt.”
Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have imposed a 14-day quarantine for travellers from Belgium. The Netherlands has also advised against non-essential travel to Antwerp. Additionally, Norway has changed Belgium from Code Green to Code Red.

This means that travellers from Belgium arriving in Norway have to quarantine for 10 days from 1 August upon arrival in the country.
The requirement to quarantine comes into force at midnight on Saturday 1 August.
Belgium has also been placed on Norway's travel advisory discouraging Norwegian travellers against non-essential travel to Belgium.
- The Netherlands Advises against travel to Belgium.
The Dutch government’s ban has listed the province of Antwerp as an orange travel zone.
It means that Dutch nationals are to stay away from the area for all non-essential travel.
Travel to the province of Antwerp, and to the city of Antwerp, only if it is really necessary. So not for tourism, the Dutch foreign affairs ministry

These countries are not wrong to implement additional restrictions, according to Marc Van Ranst, who is member both of the Belgian 'Risk Assessment Group' (RAG), which analyses the risks of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 for public health, and of the 'Scientific committee Coronavirus' which advises Belgian health authorities on combating the virus and which makes prognoses on its evolution and spread in Belgium.
He went on to say that other countries will “without a doubt” follow in the steps of Norway, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
We would also give an orange or red colour to countries that are in the same situation as us.
It can certainly not be ruled out that other countries will change their advice, but for the time being, there are no indications yet
Despite suspicions that the UK would also quarantine travellers returning from Belgium starting from, Belgium’s Foreign Affairs Department confirmed that the country will not take additional measures “for now”

Belgium's prime minister, like the UK’s Prime Minister this week put the brakes on the easing of their country's coronavirus restrictions.
Belgium unveiled a set of drastic social distancing measures aimed at avoiding a new general lockdown amid a surge of new COVID-19 infections.
Belgian residents are currently allowed to meet with 15 different people per week.
The new measures will include lowering crowd limits at public events to 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors.
This is to avoid further restrictions and to ensure children can return to school in September, after the summer break.
People are being encouraged to work remotely when possible.
Other measures announced were that shoppers should run errands alone from now on and limit the time they spend in stores to 30 minutes.

BELGIUM has tightened restrictions on travel after the country reported a rise in cases sparking fears of a second wave of coronavirus.
Belgium has seen a surge in confirmed cases over the past three weeks.

An unexpected spontaneous trip to Europe treated us to a quirky hotel room, a giant full moon, and a very spooky hallway. Some of it was boring, most of it was interesting, and all of it was worth doing again.
Thanks for sheltering us (now beautifully renovated and a gem of a hotel) and feeding us (exquisite meal at affordable price).

Kajakken aan het Fort van Oelegem
Het fort van Oelegem maakt deel uit van de Stelling van Antwerpen.
Het plaatsje Oelegem is een onderdeel van de gemeente Ranst in de
Belgische provincie Antwerpen.
Het is nu in privébezit en wordt beheerd door de werkgroep Fort Oelegem (WGFO)van Natuur2000.
Het fort doet dienst als overwinteringsreservaat voor vleermuizen.
Blijkens tellingen begin 2019 overwinteren er ca. 1500 exemplaren van een tiental soorten.
Het fort is sinds 2014 het grootste vleermuizenoverwinteringsreservaat van Vlaanderen.
Voor enkele bedreigde soorten zoals de franjestaart is Fort Oelegem al jaren de belangrijkste overwinteringsplaats.
In de zomermaanden is het fort op sommige dagen c.q. vleermuisavonden en op afspraak toegankelijk.
De jaarlijkse opendeurdag vindt steeds plaats op de laatste zondag van april.
Fort Oelegem is part of the Defense of Antwerp.
Oelegem is part of the municipality Ranst in the Belgian province of Antwerp.
It is now privately owned and managed by the group Fort Oelegem (WGFO) of Natuur2000.
The fort serves as a sanctuary for wintering bats.
It appears counts hibernate early 2019 there are approximately 1500 copies of a dozen kinds.
The fort is the largest bat hibernation reserve of Flanders since 2014.
For some endangered species such as the Natterer's Fort Oelegem been the most important wintering place.
In the summer months the fort activates some bat evenings and you can visit the Fort also by appointment.
The annual open house always takes place on the last Sunday of April.

Driving in Belgium: Autoroute A3 E40 from Brussels to Liège
In this video you can ride along on Autoroute A3 E40 from Brussels to Liège in Belgium. Connecting the Belgian capital to the East and mostly passing through Wallonia, this six-lane highway was built for a significant AADT.
The A3 continues at Liège, passing the city on the North towards the border with Germany near Aachen. A further part of A3 will be featured on the channel in the future.
