Rana Pratap Sagar Dam | Trip Buster
The Rana Pratap Sagar Dam is a gravity masonry dam of 53.8 metres (177 ft) height built on the Chambal River at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan in India. It is part of integrated scheme of a cascade development of the river involving four projects starting with the Gandhi Sagar Dam in the upstream reach (48 kilometres (30 mi) upstream) in Madhya Pradesh and the Jawahar Sagar Dam on the downstream (28 kilometres (17 mi) downstream) with a terminal structure of the Kota Barrage (28 kilometres (17 mi) further downstream) in Rajasthan for irrigation.
The direct benefit from the dam is hydropower generation of 172 MW (with four units of 43 MW capacity each) at the dam toe powerhouse adjoining the spillway, with releases received from the Gandhi Sagar Dam and the additional storage created at the dam by the intercepted catchment area. The estimated generation potential of 473.0 GWh of generation has been exceeded in most years since its commissioning. The power station was officially declared open on 9 February 1970 by Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India. The dam and power plant are named after the warrior Maharaja Rana Pratap of Rajasthan.

किसने बनवाया था 10 वीं शताब्दी का बाडोली का प्राचीन मंदिर समूह - घटेश्वर महादेव ?
This is first part of my Rawatbhata series in which I'll show a historical place that is known as Baroli Temples Complex. It's a site under control of Archeological Survey of India and situated in Badoli or Badoliya village, just three kilometer far from Rawatbhata panchayat.
Before I tell you about this place let me teel you how this trip was planned. My cousin Shubham always wanted to join me on a trip so he called me and said that his birthday is coming and we should plan a trip.
So I talked to Mohit and we three decided to visit Rawatbhata in monsoon as it looks better during rains. Shubham's friend Rohit also joined him and that's how we four met at Kota railway station in morning on 22 July of 2022. By bus we reached Rawatbhata from Kota's Ghodapura Chauraha.
Now let me tell you about this 10th-11th century old wonderful historical place. There are total 9 temples in this Baroli Temples Complex but one of these nine temples is little far from here. It's called Mataji temple.
Rest of eight temples are in the compound and surrounded with walls. Temple No. 01 - It's a Shiva temple
Temple No. 02 - originally it was a Vishnu temple but now lord Vishnu's statue is removed from here and can be seen at Kota museum. It's a Shiva temple now.
Temple No. 3 - it's a Shiva temple with three open doors and situated in the middle of a pond.
Temple No. 04 - It is known as Trimurti mandir and has an idol of three faced god.
Temple No. 05 - It's known as Vaaman temple as it has an idol of Vaaman form of lord Vishnu.
Temple No. 06 - This temple is called Mahishmardini mandir as it has idol of goddess who is killing Mahishasur, a demon in from of Buffalo.
Temple No. 07 - This temple is biggest temple of Baroli Temples comples and known as Ghateshwar temple as shivling in this temple is looks like a pot (Ghada or Ghat). Temple has 2 parts, first one is where Ghateshwar Mahadev's Shivling is, and other part is right in front of it after Nandi's statue. In other part a small Shivling can be seen in the middle.
Temple No. 08 - Ganesh Mandir - in this temple a huge idol of Ganesh ji can be seen.
Near this Ganesh temple you can see an open air temple of Bajrang bali Hanuman ji and a small step well/ Baori.
After visiting this Baroli Temples Complex we departed for our next destination of Rawatbhat in Sonu Bhai's auto rickshaw.

This is part 02 of my Rawatbhata vlog series in which I'm going to show you some more places of this small but world famous town called Rawatbhata. After visiting ancient Baroli Temples Complex, a site of Archeological Survey of India, we departed in Sonu Bhai's auto rickshaw for famous Padajhar Waterfall as it can't be missed in monsoon months.
On the way we saw a small temple of Baba Ramdev Ji situated on the rocks at the banks of Chambal river near Rana Pratap Sagar dam. This small temple is responsible for the name of this small town known as Rawatbhata.
But how? Well you need to see this vlog for answer. After having darshan of this temple we moved towards over next destination but before we reach there we saw amazing view of Rawatbhata Atomic Energy Center from Rana Pratap Sagar dam.
As we crossed another dam called Saddle dam, it started to rain. This added extra glory to that wonderful day.
This vlog ends midway but Rawatbhata Ghumo Abhiyan is still on.

This is Part 03 of my Rawatbhata Vlogs series that continues from there where we are passing through forest area and moving towards Padajhar Mahadev cave temple and Padajhar waterfall by Sonu Bhai's auto rickshaw.
When we were just 3 km far we had to leave road and pass through uneven raw path. Then after some time we pass through small section of cemented road and after this again raw path till entry gate for Padajhar Mahadev temple.
After getting down from auto rickshaw first we had a view of greenery in the valley and then after stepping down some 200 steps we reached at Padajhar Mahadev cave temple. There are two elephant statues on the top of entry gate of it. Ceiling of the cave is black. As we enter we see Shivling and statues of Shiv Parivar in a small temple on the left and the main temple of Padajhar Mahadev is inside another cave on the right.
This Padajhar mahadev cave is full of darkness s there is no electricity in it. Reason for no electricity are hundred of bats that resides in that cave. By the help of mobile's flash light we reached till Padajhar Mahadev's natural Shivling by crawling due to cave's low height.
After having darshan we came out of cave and felt blessed. Then Sonu Bhai took us to another cave near waterfall but it was was bigger than Padajhar Mahadev temple's cave. There is a small hole in this cave from where a splendid view of Padajhar waterfall can be seen.
After visiting both caves it was time for our bath in fresh water of Padajhar waterfall. We didn't go to the spot where waterfall was falling as it was highly risky. Then we moved towards our next destination which is famous Chulia Waterfall, another main attraction of Rawatbhata town.

Rawatbhata Vlog Part 04 | Chuliya Waterfall - Submersible Bridge - Charbhuja Temple
This is 4th and final part of my Rawatbhata vlogs series in which I'll show you three more important tourist places of Rawatbhata town.
After our departure from Padajhar Mahadev cave temple we reached at a near by village called Chainpuria where we had tea and samosas. Then from there we reached at another iconic spot of Rawatbhata known as Chuliya Waterfall. It's very beautiful place near Rana Pratap Sagar dam where you can see amazing natural rock formation where Chambal river's water forms many streams of waterfalls.
Though Chuliya Waterfall is very beautiful but also very dangerous because water level may increase at any time as dam's gates are opened in case of extra water. So whenever are here and you hear siren, rush immediately otherwise you'll die.
We wanted to have a close look of Chuliya Waterfall but rain started so we returned back to auto. It was a wise decision as it was raining heavily. Then in that heavy rain, Sonu bhai took us to show submersible bridge that was broken in 2019.
Finally we reached at Charbhuja temple which is situated at Bhainsroad Garh. You can see how in vlog how the rain water is flowing like a river on road. It was really an adventurous and memorable day for us as it was Shubham's birthday too.
