Punta Santiago es un barrio de Humacao, el cual es un municipio que se encuentra en el sureste de Puerto Rico. Desde aquí se pueden realizar una diversidad de actividades turísticas como: viaje en bote o kayak a Cayo Santiago, disfrutar la playa, comidas típicas y mucho más. Desde este barrio podemos ver la isla de Vieques y el Cayo Santiago. Este último es un laboratorio de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Ciencias Médicas. Este cayo esta habitado por una población de monos Rhesus, provenientes de India en el año 1938, y los cuales se usan para investigaciones médicas. La isla de Vieques es una isla municipio y fue usada por muchos años por la marina de los Estados Unidos para maniobras militares. Se puede observar en el vídeo el lado sur del Bosque Lluvioso Tropical, llamado el Yunque. Este es el único bosque de estas características en la jurisdicción de los Estados Unidos.

Hidden Lagoon of Punta Icacos | Travel Puerto Rico | Palmas del Mar and Yabucoa Best Hiking
Join me as we explore the lagoon hidden beneath the cliffs of Punta Icacos in Yabacoa, Puerto Rico. Located just outside the back gate of Palmas del Mar community are a series of hiking and biking trails. This hidden lagoon can best be accessed by hiking to Punta Icacos and climbing down the rocks.

I have lived in the nearby neighborhood of Palmas del Mar almost 5 years and spend many weekends hiking through the trails, but this was my first visit down the steep cliff walls down to the hidden lagoon.
Wear sturdy water shoes or hiking boots down the side of the rock cliff down to the water below. This adventure is best for physically fit adults that can swim. Climb and enter at your own risk.
The water is usually calmer in the early morning. Do NOT attempt this climb in rough seas or bad weather!

In this video we go around the city of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and explore all the top things to do and places to go! This video is a great tourist guide for those who are interested in visiting Puerto Plata. We first ride the Teleferico which is a mountain cable car all the way up to El Parque Nacional de Isabel Torres and then explore the park which is at the peak of the mountain. After that we make our way to Downtown Puerto Plata starting with Parque central Independencia and then moving to Umbrella street and pink street! We then take a nice ride down the malecon and end the day with a beachside dinner at La Carihuela! We're excited for you to check it out!

This the beach at my beach house in Puerto Rico. I showed the house in a previous video but I didn't show the beach. So I thought I'd do a quick walk along the beach and then this poor man's drone shot idea popped into my head. Top Puerto Rico Hidden Gems | Punta Santiago Nature Reserve
Today we are exploring some of the top Puerto Rico hidden gems, and we are heading east, to the beautiful town of Humacao, to visit Punta Santiago Nature Reserve.
The Humacao Wildlife Refuge (now called the Punta Santiago Natural Reserve in Humacao) is located on the east coast of Puerto Rico. Within the reserve you’ll find numerous trails for walking, biking and light hiking, long stretches of beach, spectacular views of the coast, lots of fishing opportunities, an area with picnic pavilions, some ruins from the area’s history as a sugar plantation, old bunkers from wars past, and the availability of kayaks and bikes to rent. The reserve has been recently refurbished and now offers kiosks for crafts too. The reserve is not heavily visited, so you may very well have this large area almost all to yourself! If you are a bird watcher, this is a great place to see birds. And iguanas!
The Reserve is open from 7 days/week from 9a-5p, but the concessions are only open Wednesday – Sunday 9 – 4pm. (and usually Mondays that are holidays)

Mini-Tours: Southeastern Beaches - Punta Santiago and El Cocal
We spent our time in the southeastern corner of the island searching for beaches. Since the one at Palmas del mar was covered with seaweed and had dangerous waves, we headed west, and discovered El Cocal and Punta Santiago.
We waited out a rainstorm to discover one beautiful beach with sea turtle nests taped off. The other provided a view of Monkey Island!
