The Charming Scandinavian Town of Poulsbo, Washington & Holiday Greetings from Searching for History
Poulsbo is located on the Kitsap Peninsula and its city center, the historic “Little Norway” is one of Erin and I’s favorite small towns to visit in Western Washington. On a walk down Front Street you will find shops and art galleries, many with a Scandinavian vibe. Poulsbo was founded in the 1880s by Norwegian immigrants and other Scandinavians from the Midwest of the United States. Modern-day Poulsbo maintains a Scandinavian theme to honor its heritage.

Little Norway - Walking Tour in Poulsbo, WA
Poulsbo is a quaint scandinavian town near Seattle.
Is 1.5 hours from Seattle across Puget Sound.
Poulsbo is a town rich in Scandinavian heritage.
Founded in the late 1880's by Norwegian immigrant Jorgen Ellison.
He was soon joined by other family members attracted by the snow-capped mountains
and waterways reminiscent of their homeland.
This Scandinavian heritage is clearly evident in Poulsbo's architecture and shops.
Stroll along the boardwalk at the scenic waterfront,
explore restaurants and shops along vibrant Front Street,
or visit the touchpools full of starfish at the free SEA Discovery Center.
