Potsdam is a city known for its gardens, palaces & lakes. It is the largest city of the German state of Brandenburg, and is the best day trip from Berlin (literally less than one hours drive away!)
300 years ago, Potsdam was transformed into one of Europe's most splendid royal cities. The Palaces and Parks of Potsdam, which cover about 500 hectares of parkland were awarded UNESCO World Heritage status back in 1990. Walking around Sanssouci Palace is a must-do experience when in Potsdam! You also can't miss the picturesque Dutch Quarter & Inner City! If you have time, we recommend a stop at the Russian Quarter as well. :) It's truly a wonderful city and we now understand why everyone has recommended a visit to Potsdam!

Potsdam is a great day trip from Berlin. It's an easy train ride from Germany's capital, and it's full of beautiful palaces to explore – from Sanssouci Palace and the Sanssouci Picture Gallery to the Chinese House and New Palace. We didn't get to everything in our one day in Potsdam, but we had a great afternoon wandering around the beautiful city. I'll have to come back soon – just one of the many perks of living in Berlin! Places to see in ( Potsdam - Germany ) Museum Barberini
The Museum Barberini is an art museum at the Old Market Square, Potsdam. It was rebuilt on the site of the Barberini Palace, that was destroyed by bombing in 1945 and demolished afterwards. The construction of the Museum Barberini was started in August 2013 and was completed in December 2016, the official opening to the public was on 23 January 2017. The Guardian refers to the Barberini first in the top 10 new museum openings in 2017.
Hasso Plattner, founder of software enterprise SAP and philanthropic patron, funded the Museum Barberini. The charitable German organization Stadtbild Deutschland awarded the reconstruction of the Barberini Palace as Building of the Year 2016.
The art gallery exhibits Plattner’s collection of artworks of the former German Democratic Republic, as well as special exhibitions that range from the Old Masters to contemporary art with a focus on impressionism, including works of Rodin, Monet and Edvard Munch. Three temporary exhibitions are planned each year, with major loan collections from international museums and private collections.
