Off We Go: Adventures
In this episode of our Seychelles adventures we are visiting Baie Lazare Beach & Port Glaud Lagoon.
The Baie Lazare Beach is a kilometer-long, crescent-shaped, dreamlike bay in the southwest of Mahé. In 1742, according to the legend, a sailor and captain named Lazare Picault landed on Mahé, giving the Baie Lazare its name.
Located in southern Mahé, near five star Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Baie Lazare is a spectacular retreat. The very popular, crescent-shaped bay offers a really beautiful backdrop - turquoise blue water, white sand and granite rocks in all possible forms create a picture book beach, which is unlike any other.
Anyone who reaches the Anse Lazare is certainly equally enthusiastic. The long, white sand beach radiates with the turquoise blue water, and the huge coconut trees are beautifully integrated into the overall picture. The bay is a dream for photographers. The water is not particularly deep so for a relaxed bathing and snorkelling fun it is enough, however, and thanks to the great waves, this bay is also popular with surfers. There is a lot of what Baie Lazare Beach has to offer, and the story around the first discovery by the explorer Lazare Picault make it a bit magical. By the way, locals have once found a buried pirate treasure, which can be seen today in the national museum.
Port Glaud Beach is a small, oft-deserted piece of sand in the west of the Seychelles’ largest island, Mahé, just along the coast from the sprawling Port Launay National Park. This area is well-known for its beauty, and Port Glaud Beach is no exception. The mixture of rocks, sea, sand, and sun make it a really pleasant place to spend a day, and the nearby facilities enable visitors to spend as long as they like here without getting bored. Arriving at Port Glaud is simple thanks to the proximity of the beach to the coastal road. With parking in the vicinity, as well as bus stops and some small-yet-popular accommodations, the beach is within reach of many people. That said, it is often deserted, allowing you to spend some time alone, enjoying the scenery or snapping some photos to take back home with you. This beach is also the location of the now-closed Berjaya Beach Resort, which can still be seen next to the beach. While it stands out due to its inactivity, the choice of location for this old resort speaks to the appealing nature of the beach in terms of its beauty and its calm, tranquil atmosphere. While small, this beach manages to pack in a lot of features, including water that is excellent for swimming and snorkelling, restaurants in the vicinity, and easy-access for almost anyone staying on Mahé. The nearby region of Port Launay is also well-worth a look, and the small offshore island of L’Islette that can be seen from Port Glaud and Port Launay South Beach is a really attractive feature of the region. At low tide, it is sometimes even possible to stroll across the seabed to reach this small island!

Off We Go: Adventures
In this video we decided to hike this 6.0-km out-and-back Anse Major Trail. Anse Major is considered one of the most beautiful secluded beaches on Mahe island. The Anse Major Trail features a number of different sections of terrain, including climbs, drops, extremely rocky areas, and a brief walk through a forest just before you arrive to the beach.
Anse Major Trail is considered a moderately challenging hike, it takes an average of between 60 and 90 minutes to complete. This is a very popular trail in early afternoon, but you can still enjoy some solitude in the morning hours. The beach is amazing and very good for snorkelling, so remember your snorkelling gear.

Mother Nature was extremely generous with these 115 idyllic islands scattered in the Indian Ocean east of Kenia. IMHO, its unrivaled scenery makes the Seychelles the planet’s best beach destination (even better than that other famous Indian Ocean destination that I like so much, the Maldives). Swimming With Stingrays In Mahe, Seychelles | 4K Travel Vlog
I went on a 2-week trip to Mahe, Seychelles. Mahe is the largest island in Seychelles - a group of over 100 islands found in the Indian Ocean.
The island yielded some incredible beaches with large, granite boulders dotted along its shores. Most special, however, was the stingray that we found on one of Mahe's lesser-known beaches, Anse Royale. We were even fortunate enough to get our stingray encounter whilst snorkelling in Anse Royale on 4k video with our DJI drone!
Anse Royale was our favourite Seychelles beach. The snorkelling was incredible and we got it nearly all to ourselves. It was perfect to fly the drone.

Az északi fehér homokos barokkal felszerelt strand teljes ellentéte a déli nyugodt, csendes pihenésre tökéletes strandnak. Itt apálykor a merészebbnek lehetősége van átsétálni a csendes elhagyott Robinson szigetre.

This pleasant 5* hotel is set on a small peninsula overlooking the sea. The great advantage of this location is that it offers a wide range of small 4-6 accommodation units, ranging from the tropical garden, which occupies a large area, to the presidential villa, which offers a wide choice of many rooms and private pools. The beach with white sand bars in the north is the complete opposite of the calm, quiet beach in the south. Here, at low tide, the more adventurous can walk across to the quiet deserted Robinson Island.

Seychelles 2022 - Retour à Mahé
A la fin de la vidéo précédente, nous nous étions quitté au sortir de 2 très belles plongées entre Praslin et La Digue. Nous voici maintenant à la veille de notre retour en France. Nous rentrons donc sur l'île de Mahé, à Baie Lazare histoire de parcourir les anse du sud-ouest de l'île. Beaucoup de prises de vue aériennes dans cette vidéo d'où cette longueur ... une belle manière de conclure le film de ce très beau voyage.
