First up, let's start with one of Wellington's most iconic landmarks - the Wellington Cable Car. Take a ride on this historic funicular railway to enjoy stunning views of the city and harbor from the top of the hill. From there, you can take a stroll through the beautiful Botanic Garden, featuring an array of exotic plants and trees.

Next, head to Te Papa Tongarewa, the national museum of New Zealand, which offers a fascinating insight into the country's history, culture, and natural environment. The museum's interactive exhibitions are perfect for all ages, and the admission is free.

For those looking for some outdoor adventure, make your way to Mount Victoria. This scenic lookout offers panoramic views of the city and is a popular spot for hiking and mountain biking. Alternatively, take a stroll along the Wellington Waterfront, where you can rent a bike, go for a swim, or grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants.

Wellington is also home to a thriving food and drink scene. Be sure to visit Cuba Street, a pedestrianized area lined with funky shops, bars, and restaurants. This is the perfect spot to try some of Wellington's famous coffee or sample some of the city's craft beer.

For those interested in film, be sure to visit the Weta Cave, home to the famous special effects company behind blockbuster films such as The Lord of the Rings and Avatar. Beware of THIS in New Zealand!

Did you expect this in New Zealand? When you come to New Zealand, you'll be shocked to see gangs. Gangs in New Zealand are so unafraid of the Police that they ride obnoxiously loud motorcycles so you can hear them a mile away.

They even wear a uniform which includes a gang patch, so you know which gang they're from.

This is how open and obvious organised crime is in New Zealand. And for visitors like my wife, it's shocking.

If you stay away from them, they won't bug ya. But the reality is gangs are known for the drug trade, murder, theft, violence against women, and the list goes on.

There are numerous gangs in New Zealand, of varying criminality, organisation and ethnicity, including outlaw motorcycle gangs, street gangs and ethnically based gangs. A chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle club was formed in Auckland in 1961, the first Hells Angels chapter outside the US.

Soon after, the Mongrel Mob formed in Hastings and Wellington, developing into a predominantly Māori and Pacific Islander gang and having the largest membership in the country.

Through the 1960s and 1970s, other outlaw motorcycle clubs and ethnically based gangs formed, including another predominantly Māori gang, Black Power (not related to the African-American movement), which grew to rival the Mongrel Mob. from Wikipedia.

Porirua City, New Zealand

Porirua (Māori: Pari-ā-Rua which means ‘the tide sweeping up both reaches’) is a city in the North Island of New Zealand. It is approximately 25 km north of Wellington CBD. This city is located on the southern end of the Kāpiti Coast, bordered by rolling hills and by Te Awarua-o-Porirua Harbour, a popular spot for windsurfing, waterskiing and jet skiing.
Some of the best things to do in Porirua include visiting the Aotea Lagoon ideal for family outing, Pataka Art + Museum a museum and art gallery specialising in Maori and Pacific Island art, swimming at Te Rauparaha Arena Aquatic Centre, and shopping at North City Shopping Centre.
For those interested in the outdoors and adventure, there are various parks and reserves including Whitireia Park, Battle Hill Farm Forest Park, and Pauatahanui Wildlife Management Reserve.
Porirua City is easily accessible by car and public transport, with multiple railway stations and State Highway 1 passing through the centre of the city. The newly opened Transmission Gully motorway (SH1) passes through the rural areas to the east of Porirua with connections to Porirua City’s local roading system. # New Zealand Drive # Visit New Zealand # NZ Driving # Travel to New Zealand # NZ Virtual Tour # Visit Wellington

Amazing Walk in Whitireia Park | Porirua | Wellington | New Zealand - 4K

Whitireia park is amazing places located in Titahi bay, Porirua city in Wellington. It has few beautiful walking tracks and you can do some other activities like biking, swimming or surfing.

I has few stunning and peaceful places that you can stay and enjoy for hours and it will really make your mind calm.

WHITEREIA PARK:
From the mid-1820s the area was dominated by the Ngati Toa tribe of Te Rauparaha who had come south from Kawhia and conquered the area. Evidence of Maori occupation, in the form of kumara-growing terraces above the cliffs, can still be seen today.

The anchor stone of the canoe of legendary Maori explore Kupe is believed to have lain near Paremata for centuries. Kupe left the stone, named Maungaroa, to mark the spot where his canoe returned after floating out to sea. The stone was respected by Maori tribes over the centuries, but during the 1840s British troops stationed at Porirua broke chips off it. When some of them later drowned in the harbour it was seen by some Maori as punishment for their act of sacrilege. The stone is now housed in the National Museum in Wellington.

Porirua, (Māori: Pari-ā-Rua) a city in the Wellington Region of the North Island of New Zealand, is one of the four cities that constitute the Wellington metropolitan area; thus it is considered a part of Wellington as a whole. The name 'Porirua' means meeting of the two tides.[citation needed] It almost completely surrounds Porirua Harbour at the southern end of the Kapiti Coast. Stream clean-up, Porirua

Cleaning rubbish from local awa (rivers) plays an integral role in protecting our ika (fish) and other living things in our water. Natone Park School, Porirua proved a great team and kaitiaki (guardians). They even removed a whole trolley. This is just one of the programmes run by Mountains to Sea Wellington and local schools.

We visited Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand and show you some of the best things to do. Wellington is a beautiful city on the south end of the North Island of New Zealand. We loved the Te Papa Museum, riding the cable car, walking around the waterfront, hiking through the beautiful Botanic Gardens, exploring the many great restaurants and coffee shops around time and even tried a craft beer or two. It is also the launching point to take the ferry to Picton on the South Island.

Wellington - The World's Best Small Capital City - Part 1 - New Zealand Road Trip 2019

Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand although it is considerably smaller than Auckland, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in beauty, situated on a large natural harbour, it is located on North Islands South Western tip, sandwiched between Cook Strait and the Remutaka Range. It is the world’s southernmost capital city, it can also claim to be the world's windiest city by average wind speed. Catch a cable car up to the Botanic Gardens to enjoy wonderful vistas over the city, its port and airport, see the regular ferry’s criss-cross the harbour, or maybe watch larger vessels, such as cruise liners, freighters or one of the regular Interisland ferries heading gingerly out of the calm harbour into the unpredictable waters of Cook Strait. Look down on aircraft wobbling in the wind as they prepare to land at Wellingtons airport. The city does suffer from traffic congestion and limited, expensive parking, but that’s no problem as the suburbs are well served by frequent and comfortable trains offering the best views of the city, coastline and countryside, a day rover is good value too. City guides tell you all about the excellent coffee houses, vibrant art scene and wonderful waterfront, they don’t always tell you about the little ferries connecting with Somes Island and Eastbourne on the opposite side of the harbour or just how stunningly beautiful a Wellington sunset can look when observed from Mount Victoria. This is the first of a two part video taking you to some of the places you won’t read about in guides, we catch trains to Masterton, Waikanae and Johnsonville with views over the pretty suburbs, Wairarapa vineyards and the stunning Kapiti Coast. Visit Somes Island, drive along the Seafront from Eastbourne back to Wellington and Oriental Parade, experience the World Premiere of the Hobbit “An Unexpected Journey”. In Part 2 we will visit zoos, museums, exhibitions and quiet bays known only to locals. Filmed between 2005 & 2019
