Szklarska Poręba is a town in Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. The town has a population of around 6,500. It is a popular ski resort.
An important regional and national centre for mountain hiking, cycling and skiing, Szklarska Poręba is situated in the Sudetes, in the valley of the Kamienna, between the Karkonosze Mountains in the south and Jizera Mountains in the west, at 440–886 m above sea level, 16 miles (26 kilometres) south-west of Jelenia Góra. The ski resorts in this area are growing in popularity as a budget alternative to the Alps, thanks to wide range of both Alpine and Nordic skiing facilities.

Poland Mountain Border Towns (Szklarska Poręba, Karpacz, Jelenia Gora, Bielsko Biala)
In today's video we visit Szklarska Poręba, Karpacz, Jelenia Gora, Bielsko Biala some of Poland's mountain towns along the Czech border. We made these visits based on our viewer recommendations. Over our 57 days in Poland we met with expats living in Poland, shared our costs, expenses, and impressions of Poland's livability and quality of life, as well as looked at real estate and we visited with immigration experts. Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, and many other cities in Poland have many foreigners calling the country home. Poland offers a reasonable cost of living and great quality of life. The average US Retiree on Social Security receives $1,550 a month, and a couple on Social Security receives over $2,500 a month. A US Expat living on Social Security if allowed could expect a lower cost of living in Poland when compared to the living costs in the US.
Warren is 52.4% Polish identified via DNA testing with 23 & Me, from four Great Grandparents who were from Poland. We will be exploring Residency by Descent in future episodes, as well as visiting locations around Poland to include ancestry locations.

Pomysł na dłuższy weekend albo wakacje w górach ???? My do Szklarskiej Poręby pojechaliśmy na majówkę, spędziliśmy tam 3 i pół dnia, wystarczyło na zobaczenie sporej liczby atrakcji w Szklarskiej ????
W samym mieście jest już kilka atrakcji, niedaleko znajdują się 2 cudowne wodospady: Wodospad Szklarki i Wodospad Kamieńczyka. Można się wybrać w Góry Izerskie na Wysoką Kopę, do kopalni kwarcu Stanisław, albo na Wysoki Kamień czy Zakręt Śmierci. W Karkonosze koniecznie trzeba pójść na Szrenicę czy Śnieżne Kotły.
W Szklarskiej Porębie znajduje się mnóstwo atrakcji dla dzieci, których nie wymienialiśmy w filmie, jest to ciekawa miejscowość na wakacje albo dłuższy weekend. My spędziliśmy wspaniałą majówkę w Szklarskiej Porębie, jest tam też dobry dojazd pociągiem ze przesiadkami we Wrocławiu.
Polecamy i na pewno jeszcze nie raz wrócimy w te rejony.
