Sardinia TOP 10 Places to Visit: Costa Smeralda, Cagliari, Villasimius, Alghero, Stintino, and more

If you are planning to visit Sardinia, in Italy, here you’ll find the best tips on things to do on the island, with a sightseeing map of the most relevant points of interest to enjoy, so you can easily imagine and organize your trip: WHAT to see, HOW to plan your visit, and WHY to discover Sardinia region.

In this video:
- WHAT are the major attractions that you can't go home without having seen, including Cagliari, Alghero, Emerald Coast (Costa Smeralda), Pelosa beach, the village of Bosa, Villasimius, Costa Rei, Limbara mountain, Gallura, Tavolara island, Capo Ferrato, Stintino village.
- Then, I’ll describe to you HOW to follow a tour to better visit the island, with a clear map of Sardinia and tips to organize your trip and your vacation.
• Finally, we’ll discover WHY to visit Sardinia, with its rich traditions and wonderful nature!

So, what are the most relevant points of interest in this fascinating island? Here are my answers:

COSTA REI
Located on the southeast coast of Sardinia, Costa Rei is a small village. This place is much appreciated by international travelers as a destination for holidays in Sardinia.
Across miles of stunning white sand beaches, here you can find high-quality tourism services: some of the best family hotels, luxury villas, resorts, restaurants, and much more.

GALLURA
Among the favorite tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, Gallura lies on a beautiful stretch of land almost lapping Corsica, overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio.
The extreme north of the island is the natural pearl of the promontory of Capo Testa, with its beaches surrounded by the greenery of strawberry trees and a rich Mediterranean vegetation.

COSTA SMERALDA
In particular, the Costa Smeralda is a coastal stretch that is part of Gallura and which extends for about 55 kilometers.
Moving south there is the imposing island of Tavolara, in front of which there are other beautiful beaches such as Lu Impostu and Brandinchi.

ALGHERO
Alghero is a city loved for its walkway along the port’s bastions, the red roofs that touch the sky and the historical center: a labyrinth of narrow streets that connect piazzas bustling with life.

VILLASIMIUS
Villasimius is popular for its renowned resorts, hotels and long white sand beaches with crystal clear waters, diving sites, coves, and a landscape covered in the Mediterranean scrub.

LIMBARA
Visit Monte Limbara, a rocky granitic massif not very high (1,359 meters), recommended to those who want to hike and enjoy nature without a deep trekking experience.

CAGLIARI
Most tourists begin their visit in the island capital of Cagliari, stopping at least to climb from Piazza della Costituzione to Bastione San Remy.
Cagliari can be an excellent base for visiting the southern coast of the island, which has some of the best beaches in Sardinia.

STINTINO (LA PELOSA BEACH)
The main tourist attraction of Stintino is the beach of La Pelosa, made of fine white sand and a turquoise-blue sea. An icon here is the tower, built in 1578 by the Aragonese, called Torre della Pelosa.

BOSA
In the village of Bosa, a tangle of medieval streets winds from the old stone bridge to the hilltop Malaspina Castle.

CAPO FERRATO
The wild promontory of Capo Ferrato is ideal for taking beautiful walks and breathing in nature.

FOOD:
Dishes to taste:
Fregola: is a type of pasta from Sardinia. It is similar to North African Berkoukes, Levantine Moghrabieh, and Israeli couscous.
Seada is a Sardinian dessert prepared by deep-frying a large semolina dumpling with a filling of soured Pecorino cheese and lemon peel in olive oil.
Culurgiones: Sardinian stuffed pockets made from semolina flour, white flour, eggs, water and salt giving a soft crust to the ravioli.

Oltrarno Florence Travel Guide - Walk and Explore the Other Side of the Arno River in Italy!

Said to be the funky sibling of the historic centre of Florence, the Oltrarno’s densely packed streets are lined with restaurants, cafes, shops, churches, palaces, museums and gardens! Today, we will walk to the neighbourhood's most famous landmarks and show you how to navigate your way around the other side of the Arno river, beginning at Ponte Vecchio. Oltrarno Florence Travel Guide w/ @michaworldwide

The Arno River divides Florence’s historic centre from its vibrant neighbourhood on its southern banks. The Oltrano, literally meaning ‘the other side of the Arno’, started out as a small unprotected settlement, however, over time it grew into one of the more affluent areas where nobles built their palaces. The Oltrarno district is made up of the neighbourhoods of San Niccolò, Santo Spirito, and San Frediano!

Places to see in ( Lecco - Italy )

Places to see in ( Lecco - Italy )

Lecco is a city on the southeastern shore of Lake Como, in northern Italy. It’s surrounded by mountains like Monte Resegone, with trails for all levels, and the Piani d’Erna lookout point, accessed by cable car. Monte Barro Regional Park has paths, plus the remains of a 5th-century settlement and the Costa Perla birdwatching station. In the city center is the Basilica di San Nicolò, with its neo-Gothic bell tower.

Lecco is a city of 48,131 inhabitants in Lombardy, northern Italy, 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Milan, the capital of the province of Lecco. It lies at the end of the south-eastern branch of Lake Como (the branch named Lake of Lecco / Lago di Lecco). The Bergamo Alps rise to the north and east, cut through by the Valsassina of which Lecco marks the southern end. The lake narrows to form the river Adda, so bridges were built to improve road communications with Como and Milan. There are four bridges crossing the river Adda in Lecco: the Azzone Visconti Bridge (1336–1338), the Kennedy Bridge (1956) and the Alessandro Manzoni Bridge (1985) and a railroad bridge. Its economy used to be based on industry (iron manufacturers), but now it is mainly tertiary. Lecco was also Alpine Town of the Year 2013.

Archaeological finds demonstrate the presence of Celtic settlement in the area before the arrival of the Romans. The latter built a castrum here and made it an important road hub. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Lombards captured the town in the 6th century; they were followed by the Franks, who made Lecco the seat of a countship and, later, of a frontier Mark.

Emperor Otto I spent a long time in Lecco, crushing the 964 AD revolt against the Holy Roman Empire led by Lecco's Count Attone. Later it became a possession of the Milanese monastery of St. Ambrose. Conrad II also stayed in Lecco, in the attempt to free it from the church, but as the result of the ensuing wars the city was subjected by Milan. It subsequently followed the history of the Duchy of Milan and of Lombardy. In the early 16th century it was briefly ruled by the condottiere Gian Giacomo Medici.

Alot to see in Lecco such as :

Minor Basilica of San Nicolò
Santa Marta, Lecco
San Giovanni Battista
Santi Materno e Lucia
San Francesco d'Assisi
Santi Gervasio e Protasio
Chiesa di Castello
San Giuseppe
Madonna della Rovinata
Santuario di Nostra Signora della Vittoria
Santa Maria Gloriosa
Palazzo delle Paure
Ponte Azzone Visconti (noto semplicemente come Ponte Vecchio)
Villa Manzoni
Memoriale ai Caduti
Statua del Manzoni
Monuments to Mario Cermenati and to Giuseppe Garibaldi

In the center, St. Mark's Square is home to St. Mark's Basilica, covered in Byzantine mosaics, and St. Mark's Campanile, with views of the red roofs of Venice.

Venice is a unique and historic city known for its many attractions and distinctive features. Here are some highlights about Venice:

Canals: Venice is famous for its unique network of canals, which serve as the city's main transportation arteries. The canals are crossed by hundreds of bridges, and the main waterway is the Grand Canal, which runs through the city in the shape of an S.

Architecture: The city is decorated with numerous palaces, churches and impressive historical buildings. Its Gothic and Renaissance architecture is remarkable and was influenced by the wealth and cultural and economic importance of the city in its heyday.

The gondolas of Venice are iconic symbols of the city and are often associated with romance and elegance. The gondola was invented around the 11th century and was the main form of transport in Venice for centuries. Originally, gondolas were decorated in bright and rich colors, but the rules were changed in the 16th century to prevent hostile competition between gondola owners.

Piazza San Marco: This iconic square is the center of social and cultural life in Venice. Famous attractions such as San Marco Basilica, the Doge's Palace and the Clock Tower are located here. Piazza San Marco is often described as the dining room of Europe.

Venice Carnival: Venice Carnival is one of the most famous carnival festivals in the world. The event is celebrated before Easter and attracts tourists from all over the world with elaborate masks, extravagant costumes and festive events.

The problem of flooding: Venice is facing a serious problem of flooding due to rising sea levels and the gradual sinking of the city. The MOSE (Modulo Sperimentale Elettromeccanico) project was initiated to protect the city against flooding, consisting of mobile barriers that can be erected to close the entrances to the lagoon in case of high tide.

These are just some of the highlights about Venice, a city that continues to fascinate and attract millions of visitors every year.

The history of Venice is a fascinating and long one, spanning more than 1000 years. Here is a brief overview of the history of this unique city:

The beginnings: The origin of Venice can be traced back to the late Roman Empire, when people began to take refuge in the islands in the lagoon to escape the barbarian invasions. In the following centuries, these islands were inhabited by Italic and Venetian tribes.

Founding of the city: According to legend, Venice was founded in 421 AD when the tribes of the region united under Theodoric the Great and Attila the Hun to form a city whose core was built on the island Rialto.

Conquest by Napoleon: In 1797, Venice was conquered by the armies of Napoleon Bonaparte and incorporated into the Cisalpine Republic. After the fall of Napoleon, Venice was ceded to Austria at the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

My opinion about Venice?
Venice, a unique city in the world, rises gracefully from its glamorous waters with its enchanting canals, magnificent architecture and romantic atmosphere, drawing visitors on a journey through time and beauty.

These are some brief information about Venice, I hope you found it useful, I thank you very much for watching, see you soon, I hug you with love, with much respect, yours Sebastian ????

???????? Venice Italy - Best Place on Earth ? 4K Walk ????????

It was my last day in Venice, Italy and I was determined to explore the city on foot. Armed with a map, my camera and a sense of adventure, I set off on a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets and canals of this historic city.

At first, everything went smoothly. I admired the stunning architecture and took plenty of photos of the famous landmarks. However, as I wandered deeper into the maze-like alleys, I began to realize that I had lost my way.

The map was no longer making sense, and the street signs were written in Italian, which I couldn't read. I started to feel a little anxious as I wandered aimlessly through the labyrinth of narrow streets, bridges and canals. I passed by countless souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants but none of them looked familiar.

I tried to retrace my steps but every alleyway seemed to lead me further away from my hotel.

Just when I was about to give up, I found myself in a lively piazza filled with locals and tourists alike. A street musician was playing a lively tune on his accordion and children played games.

Feeling relieved and happy to have stumbled upon this hidden gem, I decided to relax and soak up the atmosphere. I ordered a glass of wine from a nearby cafe and after a while, I struck up a conversation with a friendly couple who spoke English.

Despite the initial anxiety of getting lost, my unplanned detour led me to discover a new side of Venice that I would have never found on my own. It was an unforgettable experience and one that I would gladly repeat.
