Pont-Audemer fait partie de la liste « plus beaux détours de France » c’est-à-dire des jolies villes, pas très loin de l’autoroute, mais avec infrastructures nécessaires pour accueillir des touristes. L’église au centre-ville semble être le must-see de la ville
Dans ce village pas si petit que ça, l’eau est omniprésente, il est donc appelé « la petit Venise normande ».

Veules Les roses, Top Tourist Destinations In France
The village seems to be one of the oldest in the Pays de Caux, as evidenced by the presence of a cemetery of powerful Merovingian figures.
The name of Veules is said to be derived from the ancient Saxon Well, meaning a point of water.
From the 11th century, the river served as a dividing line between two parishes: St Martin on the left bank and St Nicolas on the right bank.
The Val chapel was rebuilt in the 12th century on the foundations of an old oratory. A maladrerie is annexed to it. It will shelter lepers until 1650.
Veules en Caux became Veules les Roses on July 30, 1897.
It is above the cliffs, between Saint-Valery and Veules les Roses, that the Costes and Bellonte “Point of interrogation” was seen for the last time, which left on August 31, 1930 to make the first crossing of the river. Atlantic by plane in 37 hours and 14 minutes.
In 1940, despite the absence of a port, Veules saw the embarkation of 3,000 British and French soldiers who had resisted the invasion of France by the Germans. Many last their salvation only by descending the upstream cliffs with makeshift means.
On June 12, 1940, Veules suffered a bloody battle, its seafront was destroyed as well as its casino and its villas (35 houses were destroyed that same day).
