The town has a very ancient history. As in the whole area of the south east of Bari, traces of human presence have been found in Polignano, dating back to the Neolithic period.
According to some scholars, the ancient Greek city of Neapolis could be one of the two colonies that, in the 4th century BC, Dionysius II of Syracuse founded on the Adriatic coast. As mentioned, the most evident signs of the presence of man date back to the Neolithic (VI - V millennium BC).
Archaeological investigations have revealed the existence of a village dating back to the Bronze Age which, thanks to its position and natural landings, became an important port. In the 2ns millennium BC, the landing of the *Iapigi* led the villagers to move to the area of the current historic center.
The frequentation of these places by Corinthian and Attic merchants is also attested, especially in the Iron Age, when the Land of Bari took on the name of Peucezia. At the beginning of the 3rd century BC, the area of Polignano became an important strategic point for the power of Taranto, with which it had established commercial relations.
A thriving center of trade, it was an important statio for the Romans along the road that connected Rome to Brindisi.
In 1775 a huge tomb was found here, intact, containing in addition to the skeleton of the warrior the remains of an armor, a candelabrum, a bronze helmet and more than 64 vases and ancient objects. Sir William Hamilton, English ambassador to Naples visited the tomb calling it Grand Mausolée. Also the famous Great Vase of Capodimonte was found nearby.

Il sentiero più famoso della Campania ????⛰️????️
In questo video ho percorso quello che probabilmente è il sentiero più famoso della Campania: Il sentiero degli Dei.
Parte dal comune di Agerola, precisamente in località Bomerano, ed arriva a Nocelle. Tipicamente però ci si allunga fino a Positano.
E' percorso ogni anno da tantissime persone e turisti stranieri, quindi vi consiglio, se potete, di non farlo nei weekend. E' quasi totalmente esposto al sole, quindi attenzione a farlo nelle ore calde in piena estate!
Il sentiero è molto bello, si vede praticamente tutta la costiera amalfitana fino a Capri. Arrivando a Positano sono in totale poco meno di 10km ed il sentiero, anche se non è adatto a tutti, non è per nulla complicato.
Io resto dell'opinione che sui Monti Lattari ci sono sentieri con viste più belle (vedi Monte Molare, o sentiero Alto degli Dei) ma comunque vi consiglio assolutamente di fare anche questo! Soprattutto se alla fine vi fate un bagno a Positano ????

Approach and landing on runway 24 of Naples international airport in Italy. NAP / LIRN. With original cockpit audio, which includes ATC (air traffic control), ATIS (automatic terminal information service) and pilot commands and checklists. Produced in 4k quality.
In the video, we flew the ILS W (Whiskey) 24 approach. This approach is very special because it is not a classic straight in approach which keeps you for 10 miles (19 km) or even longer on the track of the runway. The approach track at the ILS W 24 approach guides the plane offset from the final approach to stay clear of the mountains before the final approach track will be intercepted for a very short straight flight segment before landing. Similar as the approach to runway 6, also the approach to runway 24 is a steeper than a normal approach. A 3.5 degree glideslope gives the pilot all the time the impression that the airplane is too high. Standard approaches have only a 3.0 degree glideslope.

L'Autostrada A16 (detta Autostrada Napoli-Canosa, o anche Autostrada dei due mari), è un'autostrada italiana che, attraversando l'Appennino campano, collega il Mar Tirreno all'Adriatico; si estende per 172 km tra Campania e Puglia e interconnette l'autostrada A1 ad Afragola con l'A14 nel territorio di Cerignola. È gestita da Autostrade per l'Italia.
Originariamente numerata A17 (unitamente al tratto Canosa-Bari, ora A14), è stata rinumerata in A16 in seguito al completamento dell'autostrada adriatica. È stato suggerito che il cambiamento di numero sia stato dettato da motivi scaramantici. Quando l'autostrada era numerata A17 la A16 era la Roma-Civitavecchia, adesso A12.
La costruzione del collegamento autostradale tra Napoli e Bari fu controversa. Il primo ostacolo per un collegamento tra i mari Tirreno e Adriatico fu quello naturale formato dagli Appennini. Nei progetti preliminari si parlava di un percorso simile al collegamento storico tra Napoli e Bari, cioè seguendo grossomodo la Strada statale 87 Sannitica verso Cancello, per poi risalire la Valle Caudina e toccare Benevento. Da Benevento c'erano poi due soluzioni: passare per Foggia, o tagliare più a sud gli Appennini. Fu scelta la seconda, anche se con maggiore difficoltà nella progettazione in una zona altamente montuosa.
L'autostrada è formata da 2 corsie per carreggiata per quasi tutto il tracciato. Nel suo taglio da ovest a est della nostra penisola, attraversa la Campania con il territorio dell'Irpinia, interseca l'Autostrada A30 nei pressi di Nola, supera Avellino, da dove si può raggiungere Salerno (collegamento comodo per chi viaggia tra il salernitano e la Puglia), e Benevento (collegata tramite un raccordo). Oltrepassato l'appennino campano e il subappennino dauno, termina in territorio pugliese nei pressi di Canosa da cui sono poi facilmente raggiungibili Bari e Foggia.

The Alfa Romeo 156 (known internally as the type 932) is a compact executive car introduced by Italian automaker Alfa Romeo at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show[4] as the replacement for the Alfa Romeo 155. Cars were assembled at Fiat Group factory in Pomigliano d'Arco, Italy and General Motors facility in Rayong[1], Thailand (production in Thailand started March 2002 and lasted couple of years, cars were targeted for Asia Pacific markets[5]). Between 1997 and 2005, 680,000 examples of the 156 were produced,[6] a huge success for the brand.
The 156 was available in saloon and estate 'Sportwagon' bodystyles with seven engine configurations and it went through two facelifts, first in 2002 and second in 2003.
The 156 saloon was discontinued late in 2005 in Europe, the four-wheel drive Q4 Crosswagon was produced to the end of 2007.[7][8] The 156 was replaced with 159, which also spawned the Brera, the two door coupe that replaces the Alfa Romeo GTV along with its convertible sister the new Spider.
